EBTA 2014...Across the Atlantic we go!!!

Hi everyone
We have booked this and the 3 day Bahamas cruise prior to the TA. We did the 2011 Eastbound and really enjoyed it.
We are David and Adele from the West Coast of Scotland; our flights are booked and we will be staying at POR for a couple of days before the cruises. Flying back to Glasgow on the 31/5/2014.
David:)

Oh dear Emily, where did that ancient story pop up from :scratchin, it was 20+ years ago and, to be fair, it was self-defence .... maybe he missed that part out of the story?? :rotfl2:

I'm really liking the idea of any boys who attend are in dresses and pink princess: :lmao::lmao:princess:

Mary-I have no doubt it was in self defense! Just as it will be in self defense if Stevie tries to stea your booze! I am looking forward to meeting you.

I would pay good money to see Stevie attend in a pink dress, he looked pretty good in a pink crown and pink feather boa!

Hello, I'm aquaduck15! My family is considering going on the transatlantic. I have been to Barcelona before on a Mediterranean cruise but I have never been on the transatlantic. I have also been on the Panama Canal cruise and the Bahamas cruise. I look forward to talking to you soon!

Your family isn't just considering it, your awesome aunt booked you on it! Now to convince Mommy! Get working on that buddy!

:dance3: We are! (I hope. Always the chance it won't work, but we're quite hopeful.)

I am and so is my WIFE !! this time:rotfl2:

And this time, I will be sailing without my husband!

We are planning on it as well!

Me too. And dh wants to go this time.
How exciting! Who would like to link for dinner? I'd like to sit with people we are aquatinted with.

Jennifer :moped:

I was trying to change our avitar using a picture from my i-phone. I've read the instructions and tried numerous times and can't manage it.:sad1:

Will some one explain it to me in plain English. :worried:

Thanks, Jennifer

Please

We're going to do early dining. We did it on this year's and that worked out really, really well for us. We made a huge mistake and booked late dining for the Med portion of our cruise and that was awful for us. If it's anyting like this year was, there will only be a few Disers doing early dining with most everyone doing late.

We were fortunate enough to eat with the "Kirbo" family on this year's EBTA.

We just can't do late dining - it's just flat out too late for our daughter (and for that matter, us as well). We'd much rather eat early, then go to the show's or activities afterward. By the time the show is over, it's usually bedtime for all of us anyway.

We were expecting early dining to be at 5:30, as it was on our first cruise on the Fantasy. On the Magic, it started at 5:45, and for the most part, we didn't really eat until 6-6:15 anyway.

Just booked this cruise! We tried to do it last year, but had to cancel for family reasons. My husband is from Amsterdam, so this is good way to get the kids (and me!) a fun vacation, and get him a family visit!

There are 4 of us, 2 adults and ds 5 dd 3. How do we add ourselves to the list?

We have only cruised once before, also disney, and loved it. Suprised to hear that Main Seating is already closed. It seemed like everyone here was on late. Hopefully we will be able to switch.

Would love to hear suggestions on how to keep the kids happy on all those sea days, as well as any other suggestions for inexperienced cruisers!

Welcome!
I think the sign ups on in Google docs on FB..

I was thinking about Chocolate Tasting..very yummy!

I was lucky last time to have drinking buddies who liked what I didn't. They gave us Champagne, port, red wine and scotch to go with caramel chocolate, dark chocolate, milk chocolate and white chocolate.

Since I don't like some and have always wanted to do this, what about meeting on Deck 4 as there will be no secret back deck 7 with wine ( or a favorite drink) a cheese platter from room service, and I can bring some Ghiradelli's chocolate and other can bring some of their favorite too.

What do you think???

What a great idea. On a past cruise someone organized a wine tasting where we each brought our favorite wine. It was lovely and the only thing I could image making it better was to add chocolate. Maybe one of the lounges would be available if we can't find a deck.

:welcome:

I didn't realize that main seating was full. I'm actually shocked. I'll bet you can switch later on.

Sea days for us were mostly spent on deck 9. My kids spent way too much time in the Goofy pool. (I'm thrilled to say that I never once got in, that was DH's job  ) But there are movies, character meets, pools, clubs, shuffleboard, ping pong, board games, etc. We never once got bored with our eight year olds.

Just back yesterday from the 12-night inaugural Med cruise to Greece and Turkey, and LOVED it so much, we are seriously thinking about this Transatlantic!

And WOW, the prices are so much better than for the Med cruise! About 1/4 the cost!!

We wanted to make sure our kids will be done with finals at the university, since they will both be in school, and I found out that their last day is May 16, so this will be great!

What was your favorite part of your Med cruise?

:welcome: also shocked main seating is full so early on but looking at the dcl site the cruise seems to be selling pretty well, get yourself added to the wait list and I'm sure you'll get main as people cancel nearer the time :)
