Boo hiss for those GTY assignments. Looked at DCL's website out of curiosity and for the first time it is showing no inside staterooms. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there's a long list of options awaiting upgrades at the port.

It was showing 11Bs yesterday and I was about to call DCL and price it out for the upgrade but they are gone.

I got all excited about them posting cabin numbers...no luck for me, though...although we do have an IGT, so I'm not expecting to get it until about a week beforehand Sorry to hear no one has received their pixie dust for upgrades...I have my fingers crossed, but I know it won't happen. The only upgrades we get is when we pay for them at the port!

When we sailed to Alaska in May we had an IGT and got an 11A and now I have been spoiled!!! I hate waiting for cabin assignments though. At least I know my next one (March 2013) will be on a higher deck... We got a crazy low 5A price.

Now I just need to make sure I'm at the port early for a paid upgrade!!!

I also bring my own waffle cones and chocolate shell topping for the ice cream. If you see me or my kids around the mickey pool with waffle cones, feel free to ask me for one! I know I have it a little bit easier to pack all these extras since I don't have to fly!

I will not be held responsable for when my DH trips one of your kids and steals their waffle cone. I can hear him whining now...but why didn't you think to pack me waffles cones.

If you see my sister at the ice cream machine, ask her to make you a cone! She worked at an ice cream shop all through high school and makes the best and highest swirls!

Somebody on FB reminded me that the DCL site doesn't change your category listing if they upgrade you. I read my Passporter wrong, too (bifocals). So we did get !! Booked 11B, got 9B.

Love the waffle cone idea! I can just see all the people who are not on these boards going..."where did they get those?" I know when DH gets the ice cream, he goes and gets the drink cups from the soda station...the cups at the ice cream station are just too small for him (so he says!) He says he gets the strangest looks from people like "where did you get those from?" I might just have to surprise DH and bring some waffle cones with us!

I do that too - but I usually make coke floats If only they had rootbeer!

Got out GTY assignment... 2511 so no upgrade. Blah. I need to stop booking 11Cs as I don't want deck 2!!! Was hoping for some pixie dust but DCL clearly doesn't like me that much.

We got ours, too. 2088 so no upgrade here, either. We don't care, tho, cuz my parents have a veranda. Off to look at cabin reviews.

So, these are all regular GTYs, not IGTs? I got so excited reading this, I couldn't get into our res. fast enough...but nothing yet .

I was afraid to look at our ressie. We were an 11C GTY and we were granted a 9B ! This is my first unpaid upgrade in 9 cruises so I am pleased. 1/2 way between mid elevators (Edge for dd11) and 1/2 way to the forward elevators for a ride up to the adult pool for me

I love our cabin assignment! Close to midship and upgraded from 11C to a 9B! We were in a similar cabin on the other side of the ship in May so I know I will like it. So happy

I feel for all those with GT bookings that have to wait at least another month for their assignments.

I'm happy for those of you getting upgrades -- nice! I've read a lot on various threads regarding how IGT works -- some say that IGT means that most likely you will not get anything other than an inside stateroom; some say you won't know until 2 weeks before cruising. Has anyone read enough to feel like they know what the real deal is here?

Woo Hoo!!! We were pixie dusted !! From an 11C GTY to 9C. My kids' room is one door away. We are in connecting rooms, just not to each other! I hope our neighbors don't mind the traffic between our rooms outside their door...Oh well...We're still ecstatic!!
Now I'm worried that they'll change the room assignments. Has that happened to anyone before?

We booked an IGT for the Dream Oct 21 cruise and didn't find out until 7 days before! I hope people don't have to wait that long.

At first I was nervous about not finding out our IGT room assignments since our family will have 4 rooms which could end up anywhere. Now I have found a new way to think about it, it's like when you check in to a hotel and you don't find out where your rooms will be until you get the keys!

Excited for you guys who just got your room numbers yay!

We booked 11C GTY and received a 9C, so I'm thrilled to be upgraded from an inside standard to a Deluxe Oceanview! We were on Deck 2 for our last cruise and loved it!

I've not even been thinking about the cruise nor following our cruise thread for several weeks, so I'm glad I popped in today to see that GTY's were being posted. My room assignment has got me excited about the cruise once again!

I've been distracted by the fact that we are moving from our home of tweny-five years to a new location because my husband started a new job on Oct 1. He has already moved, and my dd and I will join him after we find a home to purchase. One condition he laid down before he accepted the job was that he can have vacation days banked to be able to go on our PC cruise, and the new boss agreed!

This week my computer died (of course dh is 450 miles away and I'm not computer savvy), so all the FE stuff I was working on is lost, so I have to re-think my plan. Because of our unexpected move, my plate is very full, so I almost dropped out of doing the FE. I decided to continue, but I'm giving the "Minnie" group notice that my gift is going to be minimal, so I apologize in advance.

In all of your excitement, who wants to volunteer their new category 9 for the stateroom crawl?

All these upgrades make me wish we kept our 11C GYT. But I will enjoy the $500 we saved by switching to the IGY rate. We will be happy with whatever we get and maybe look into an upgrade at the port. We are hoping on connecting rooms though!
