If anyone wants to borrow one of my 3 "alarm clocks," you are more than welcome to. I do have to warn you though, they seem to be permanently set to around 6:30. No matter what I try, I cannot get them to go off any later than 7!![]()
My sister solves her alarm clock problem by sending the little nosey alarm clocks to their aunt and uncle's room. Sometimes they join us running on deck 4, sometimes the thought of having to go running works like a snooze button and they go back into "sleep mode"
I went through all of the other sweeteners over the past several decades and have found this to be the best tasting for me, so far. Splenda would be my second choice.Everyone thought I was a terrible curmudgeon early on on this thread when I suggested SMALL, FLAT or LIGHT for FE gifts. Now Tammy, at least, understands why!

I also puruse the main cruise thread when there are no updates here. No longer am I on the main threads anymore, since we don't have an actual WDW trip planned.
But along the subject of the rooms, can someone who has cruised the Wonder this year confirm what type of clocks they have?
Thanks for the info - we were on the Magic in September and we couldn't not figure out how to change the time on the clock. In fact, it was an hour ahead when we got to the room. It was very frustrating, so I bought a cheapie alarm clock at Walmart for this cruise - With all the times that we will be changng the time, I'm not taking a chance on not being able to change the clock![]()
We also take a travel alarm clock, just in case. DH and I both like to see what time it is if we wake up in the middle of the night, esp. in an inside cabin. I leave the bathroom light on with the door closed for a night light (and because I would probably hit the wrong switch in the dark and wake everyone up otherwise).
As for food storage, I always take extra ziplock bags in different sizes, in case I *need* to keep those extra cookies or that uneaten piece of cake from room service. The mini-frig/cooling box doesn't hold much, and it will only keep things cool, not cold. Last cruise, we brought desserts back from Palo high tea, but the plate wouldn't fit in the cooler. I think I'll take some pieces of alum. foil this time, too. They don't have wraps; they provide a plate with a cover. NOT that there is normally any need to bring anything back to the room (we're never hungry enough to eat it) but one never knows.

I also bring my own waffle cones and chocolate shell topping for the ice cream. If you see me or my kids around the mickey pool with waffle cones, feel free to ask me for one! I know I have it a little bit easier to pack all these extras since I don't have to fly!

We are doing the late seating - me, DH and DD-14 - if anyone would like to share a table with us please let me know.
We had great DIS tablemates on our recent Magic cruise - they made our dining experience extra special (we haven't been as lucky on our previous cruises - we've had non english speaking tablemates, a teenager from He**, and a bratty toddler who didn't stop whining the entire trip).

Count us in. We'd love to be your table mates. We don't allow whining unless it's in a glass and our teenagers are angles from heaven.Summer is 14 and Autumn is 13 so I think it will be a good match. The girls said that if Brenna is interested maybe they can run deck 4 together. They wouldn't want to get out of shape by not training for 2 weeks. I have no idea where they get that from. Not my side of the family that's for sure.

Love the waffle cone idea! I can just see all the people who are not on these boards going..."where did they get those?" I know when DH gets the ice cream, he goes and gets the drink cups from the soda station...the cups at the ice cream station are just too small for him (so he says!) He says he gets the strangest looks from people like "where did you get those from?" I might just have to surprise DH and bring some waffle cones with us!
If only they had rootbeer!Have room for four more? Katie would love to be with the girls, and if only we had an 11yo boy it would be perfect!,![]()
I do that too - but I usually make coke floatsIf only they had rootbeer!

I started packing my FE gifts in a carry-on size suitcase, didn't fit, moved to the next size one, still doesn't fit - moved to our largest suticase and still not enough room - what doesn't fit is going to have to be carried on in a duffle - oh my, what was I thinking. At least we are flying Southwest and I don;t have to pay for bags

You are scarying me... I think we'll have less than half a carry-on to bring the FEs home. Wow - that's incredible.Well at least part of it. The doctor reviewed my MRI this week and I do have a compressed fracture of the T12. We had discussed surgery, Kryphoplasty, to alieviate the pain and straighten the vertebra, however, I have a fragment that might possibly be pushed into the spinal cord if that is done and that would be a disaster. So, no surgery on that one. The other news was that the imaging place failed to do the lumbar screening so I had to have another MRI Friday. Laying on my back perfectly still for any length of time is painful so when I heard another MRI I almost screamed. If that MRI comes back with no fractures then i will start the alternative to surgery. Back brace, physical therapy, and pain meds. So, you will know me on the cruise....the one with the back brace, yuck!
My hope had been to join my husband on the boat, but the doctor says that could be 2-3 months. We'll see. I will do everything the physical therapist says to and hopefully expedite the healing process.
I had hoped to do a really cute craft project for my FE but I am not able to sit up right now to do it. I'm afraid by the time I can it will be too late to get them done so I hope you all are happy with what I can do. I love the FEs...it is so exciting to return to your cabin and find little gifts waiting for you.
Judy
Wishing you a speedy recovery! BTW- we'd be happy with whatever we get. For us, it's as much finding things in our FEs as what is actually inside. We're only giving one gift for cabin (plus individual for kids) so I'll make sure I put ours in HIS holder.Luckily my DH has been helping to plan our gifts - I was going to combine my ladies and men gifts into one to save space, but he said no - we need to give the men their own giftsHe's like a kid with this - he's the first one to check to see what is in the holder - although he will let DD get the gifts out
