Princess dresses -- to pack or not to pack??? Other moms of young girls, what do you plan to do, or what have you done in the past? I have a 7 year old DD and a 10 year old DD (will be merely days away from being 11 while on the cruise). I already have dressy dresses (not costumes) for them to wear to formal dinners. They have outgrown/worn out the Disney princess costumes that we have already. Trust me, they look ratty. I would definitely have to buy new ones, and I'm not sure I want to spend the money or use the luggage space. On the other hand, I don't want my girls to feel like they are missing out. Our cruise is a surprise, so I can't ask their opinion. We haven't been on a Disney cruise before, so I'm not sure how prevalent dressing like a princess is. If you went on DCL and did not take a princess costume for your DD, did you regret it?
My DD is 6. She has a bunch of nice Disney princess dresses. I pack them all. They are puffy but super light. She wears them to the dinners and then to the princess fair and princess tea. She will wear the Cinderella wedding gown and Rapunzel wedding gown for formal night. They are both pretty fancy. I don't think your DD's would feel left out if they didn't have them on. She just loves the princesses at this age and already has them. If you do decide to buy them Disney always clearances them out after Halloween. So, I'd look there. You can get them for about 1/2 of what they are going at now. I've never not taken the dresses in the 6 we've done. So, can't answer that question. Sorry!

Sorry for the quick post...
But I might just get a hotel room somewhere too for ease of coming and going. I plan on visiting some of my favorite stores and restaurants while I have a chance!
