GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

We're getting quite a list of Scrapbookers. If I don't have your email already, please PM! I'd like to start a discussion about what, when, where and how.

Looks like a travel agent pamphlet, and it's obviously dated, but I was wondering...when did our itinerary change? This itinerary lists Grand Cayman and Cozumel as two of our stops. Wow, I wouldn't mind those over Cartagena! I booked this cruise when it was first announced, and I don't recall any itinerary changes. I'm pretty sure when I booked, the itinerary was what it is now. I wonder when this sheet was distributed? I realize DCL can change the itinerary at any time, but man, I kinda wish we had this one.

Sure hope our itinerary stays as it is. 5 times each to GC & Cozumel, although I like 'em, is enough. Time for something NEW. Looking forward to Caragena!

MagicMaker, that must have been quite a long drive! But your dd made a great choice of school if she is in all those activities already - that's amazing. I hope she has time to study!

Who dances the night away in the clubs on board? party: (That would not be me)

It's a good day - DINOSAUR Barbecue for supper. Yummmmmm!

Happy Day, all!

I saw that itinerary too, but I can't remember where! It had to be on the Disney website, because I didn't check anywhere else before I booked this cruise. I booked it on opening day. I'm happy with the itinerary as it is now, because I haven't been to any of the ports, except Los Angeles. Our real goal is to sail through the Canal itself. The other stops are just icing on the cake for us.

I'd love to go to Grand Cayman sometime. I've been on two Western Caribbean cruises and we missed Grand Cayman both times!

Beth

I happened to come across the following on MouseSavers:

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Who is staying where before the cruise? I'll be at the Doubletree in San Pedro from Friday. Looking forward to the aquarium and maritime museum.

Happy Day, all!

We booked a night at the Double Tree also, but arrive later Saturday night with 3hrs of jet lag. :upsidedow Probably won't be good for much until the castaway party. pixiedust:

We will be staying at the Grand Californian at Disneyland from Dec 3-9. Planning on leaving early on Sunday morning to go to the port. Looking into going by limo. If anyone is staying at DL prior to the cruise that may want to share a ride to the port, let me know. It will by my husband and myself.

Audrey

A week at Disney Land then a two week Disney Cruise! Wow, you are living my dream. Now if you tell me that you will be going to Disney World after we arrive in Florida, I will be beyond jealous!!! We are staying at the Westin in Long Beach on the Saturday night. I hope that we can take a little time to explore the area before we head to the port on Sunday morning.

I have a question for those who live close to DL or WDW. What is it like to be able to pop into the parks whenever you feel like it? At the risk of being banned from the boards for voicing such a blasphemous thought, I have to ask, is it possible to get tired of doing Disney? Since I live in Ontario, obviously making a trip to Florida or California is a big thing and doesn't happen too often. Sometimes I stay at my sister's time share off site in Kissimmee and only get into the parks for a day or two on my vacation. Other times, we have stayed on site and fully immersed ourselves for the whole week. But usually by the end of the week, I feel like I have had my fill of Disney and am good to go for another year or two (or so I think). However, Disney is like a drug and usually within a month or two, I am itching for another fix. However, I have often wondered that if I lived close by, and could go as often as I wanted, would I still enjoy going all the time or am I just suffering from a case of wanting what I can't have?:scratchin

I went over 25 times last year (lost track of the exact number). If I were an adult w/o kids, I think I could handle >5. However, the joy I see in the eyes and expressions of our children, makes us go back time and time again. I guess you could say I'm 'addicted" to that.

I agree...our real goal is to sail through the Canal, too. But I would so like to see Grand Cayman and Cozumel. I haven't been on a Western Caribbean yet. When we were on the Magic last week, I wanted to book the Fantasy for 2013. There's a week in November that the schools are closed for teacher meetings, and I wanted to sail that week. Well wouldn't you know it's an Eastern Caribbean that week. I booked it anyway, but I'm not sure we'll keep it.

Mystery solved! Thank you for sharing! Wow, they changed it in one day. Maybe the original list was a typo? Perhaps someone copy and pasted the 6-day Western by accident? :badpc:

I just wish we were going to Castaway Cay! I don't understand why they couldn't fit in 1 day for us to go there.

I agree wholeheartedly! I think it's because the only day we could do it (12/22), one of the other Disney ships is already slated to be there. But I'm game for being tendered in!:sail:

That is what I heard also. I imagine the island would be too busy/full with 2 ships? (Even though our ship is going to empty:rolleyes:)

This is our first Disney cruise, but I know we will be doing more, so will get a chance at CC later.

I have a nice post typed up last night and it didn't go through. So now I have time to try again. I have been thinking about different aspects of the cruise and have the following questions for the "experts"

1. Why do we have such short port times as compared to the MR cruises? Is it cheaper to leave early, and thus Disney is saving money to pay the expensive PC transit fees? It doesn't take that much time to get to Cabo and PV that we need to leave so early.

2. The Palo private room looks tight with everyone around the table. Is it difficult to get past the chairs to get out for more food?

3. We are considering the zipline tour in PV, leaving DS4 on the ship in the clubs. I am not sure I am comfortable with this, although he is used to all day care/preschool so he will not miss us. Have others done this or have strong feelings against it? PV is the only port we would not be touring together.

4. I am interesting in the different tastings, but don't drink much. Is it allowed, frowned on or not allowed at all to share a tasting with someone? We have done Napa wine tastings and shared a glass with no problem at many wineries, so wondered if it is possible to do this on the ship.

I just looked it up...it's the 12/19 4-night Dream sailing that will be docked at CC on 12/22. It shows a lot of availability, so maybe not a crowded cruise either? I wonder if we should lobby DCL to see if both ships could share the island? If the Dream takes the dock, I wonder if it's even possible for the Wonder to anchor off-shore and tender guests in? I would love to visit CC to end this cruise!

Actual sail away times are announced on the ship and there are lots of factors involved besides distance - tides, pilot scheduling, other factors having to do with the ports and timing. DCL doesn't make all the decisions in this matter.

2. The Palo private room looks tight with everyone around the table. Is it difficult to get past the chairs to get out for more food?

It's a lovely room and the servers certainly don't have to 'scrunch' to get around the diners. Not sure how they will work it for brunch, having only dined in there, but when dining, we had a dedicated serving team and they brought us everything.

3. We are considering the zipline tour in PV, leaving DS4 on the ship in the clubs. I am not sure I am comfortable with this, although he is used to all day care/preschool so he will not miss us. It is often done - the cast members are accustomed to dealing with children whose parents are off the ship. It's not like the ship will leave without you - it won't.

My guess is that's NOT going to happen, Cinderella. You might as well save your energy for something else. DCL already knows everyone wants to visit CC. ;)

BTW, if you haven't been on an Eastern Caribbean before - they are really nice too. I've never met a port on that cruise that I didn't like - there's something to love about each of them - and the scenery, as the ship passes among the islands - is fabulous. Very different from the western, where there's a lot of open sea - only skirting Cuba.

Happy Day, all!

Well tonight's the night that us Gold cruisers can booked our excursions, Palo and Spa treatments - anyone else staying up to do so? I have a feeling I won't make it, but will wake up sometime in the middle of the night :rotfl2:
