Christina...since you will be on the Wonder, could you do me a favor and see if there is still a head server on board whose name is Witt Tuncharoen? He was our head server when we did the MR last Feb and we loved him...1st head server we have ever gotten to know. We would love to request his rotation if he is still there! And if Terry Couch is a server still on board, he is great as well if you get him! Thanks, Deanna

I would like to know this as well. I am still holding out hope that Terry Couch is still a server and Witt Tuncharoen is still a head server on board the Wonder. If anybody can confirm this, I would appreciate it.

Witt was our assistant server many years ago. We loved him!

Beth

Deanna & Beth,

When I saw Witt's name, I was thrilled! If it is the same person, he was our server on the Wonder in May 2003. Is it possible he's still on the Wonder after all these years? He was terrific, and I remember writing a letter to DCL afterwards to show our appreciation for his wonderful service.

Christina, were you able to find out if he was on the Wonder during your Hawaii cruise?

I've done a little research using some old Navigators, and based on what I see, this is what I think our evening cruise schedule might be like:

Day 1 - "Let the Magic Begin" - Cruise Casual
Day 2 - Sea - "Taste of California" - Casual
Day 3 - Cabo - "Around the World" - Casual
Day 4 - Puerto Vallarta - "Golden Mickey" - Formal
Day 5 - Sea "Villains Tonight"
Day 6 - Sea - Rotational Dining Menu - Semi-Formal
Day 7 - Sea - Rotational Dining Menu - Casual
Day 8 - Sea - Rotational Dining Menu - Casual
Rotational Menus:
A/P - Show Dinner
Lumiere's - French Dinner
Parrot Cay - Island Dinner

Day 9 - Panama Canal - "West Meets East" - Casual
Day 10 - Cartagena - "Pirates In the Caribbean" - Pirate Dress
Day 11 - Sea - "Master Chef"- Casual
Day 12 - Sea - "Captain's Gala" - Casual
Day 13 - Costa Maya - "Prince and Princess" - Formal
Day 14 - Sea - "Til We Meet Again" - Cruise Casual

The Day 5 Sea day used to be a Port Day, so I could see this being done on Day 8 or Day 13 Instead, and then those getting switched around.
Thoughts? I think it's neat that we'd have 2 formal nights.

I just wanted to say thank you for pulling this together! The theme nights really haven't changed much on the PC cruises, so I'm sure this is a pretty good estimate of what to expect. Thank you for taking the time to do this!

I completely forgot to check to see if Witt is onboard or not. We had Witt on the Wonder in Feb 2011 but don't recall seeing him on the last 3 Wonder cruises. I'll send a message to a current server via Facebook and ask if Witt is onboard. The last message I got from him last week was that he was having issues with the internet up in Alaska.

We had Geffry as our head server for our portion of the restaurant on the Hawaii cruise. The other side had Denize. Both were very nice.

I just asked on the Hawaii meet thread if anyone had Witt as their head server. Hopefully somone will be able to verify whether he is onboard or not!

Once we finish our Canada cruise (two weeks from Sunday::yes::) I can really start thinking about this one. The Canada cruise has me all confused. I'm so used to having to fly somewhere and make all kinds of hotel and travel arrangements that this just doesn't feel right! I'll walk out of my door, and in just under two hours I should be sitting somewhere on Magic enjoying lunch. I don't have to worry about luggage allowances or delayed flights or anything else!

Beth

I laughed when I read this! We are going on the Magic/Canada cruise later in the summer, and I feel the same way! I can't wait to just go over the GWB and be there! I feel absolutely no stress about this vacation whatsoever, and I can't wait to sail the Magic for the first time! I hope the NY cruises sell well, and DCL decides to bring one of the newer ships up...that would be great!

I'd love to hear about your experience on the Canadian itinerary. Do you have any excursions booked? PM me if you get a chance when you get back!

Thank you for trying to find out if Witt is still on-board :)

I wonder if "Denize" is our server from the Dream last August? His name was Denis, but he pronounced it "Den-eeze", and he was from Croatia. He was also a fantastic server. When the main course would arrive, he always cut our children's meals, so DH & I could dive right into ours while they were hot. It helped me relax and enjoy my meal, and that extra service was reflected in his tip. I wish I could've brought him home! I also remember that he was headed home to Croatia after our cruise for the first time in like 8 months, and he left breakfast a little early to get to the airport. He was so excited! I remember seeing the irony in that...he was excited about getting off the Dream, and I, certainly, was not!

I also updated the PC Certificates list (Page 6, Post 79). Just a reminder, this list is only a guide. I will be confirming quantities and names as we get closer.

Now to catch up on responding to all those other posts!

This is so cool! Please add us to the list for the PC Certificates!

Were you on the May 15 cruise? Your disname and your son's look familiar and I think we may have met on the train to Rome? I seem to recall you were on the January 2011 Panama cruise and you said you could swing it because Hunter is homeschool?

Yes, we were on the May 15, 2010 Mediterranean cruise and yes, Hunter (12 yo, 7th grade) is homeshooled. You have an terrific memory!:thumbsup2 I reognized your name immediately and we are looking forward to seeing you again.

We did not take the 2011 Panama cruise but we did have an amazing 22 day vacation! We spent 10 days in a beautiful villa at Atlantis in the Bahamas, 7 days on a Western Carribean cruise, then 5 additional days in a gorgeous villa in Orlando. It was an extraordinary trip but nothing beats the Mediterranean cruise and we still talk about it all the time.:goodvibes

I too are hoping to hook DD up with a friend. Otherwise it may be a long two weeks for her parents! I looked at the FE list and there're only two other girls in the 8-12 group. I sure hope there are more girls in that age group on the cruise!

adnil530 and Schepp both have daughters that are 11. We will for sure be in on the FE too, I just haven't had time to send a pm yet. I'm thinking I still have plenty of time. :hourglass I'm last minute on everything.

Hi all!

We were at WDW for the week before Mother's Day, and I am still playing catch up! I had a month's worth of posts to catch up on.

Welcome to all the new members! I just finished updating the Roll Call (Page 6, Post 77) based on posts and any PM's I received. We added 11 new Dissers and their families! Please double-check that I have everything correct, and if there's anything you want changed, added or removed, please PM me.

Welcome back - we missed you :cloud9: Thanks for updating the lists!

Yes, we were on the May 15, 2010 Mediterranean cruise

We were also on that sailing! I had yet to discover the disboards but a member in our group was and kept us informed of everything. I am hoping this cruise will be just a wonderful. We always mention the Mediterranean cruise.

We're planning on visiting Peggy's Cove Village and Lighthouse and the Fairview Cemetery (Titanic Victims) while we're in Halifax and doing the St. John River Cruise in St. John. DH won't do anything but Disney excursions. He has a friend who missed his ship while on a private excursion in Hawaii, and he doesn't want to try that experience for himself:lmao:! I'm planning on writing a trip report or at least posting pictures when I get back.

And the good news is...we have A/C again! It was fixed last night, and it's beginning to cool off in here. I'm so excited--the new blower is powerful enough that the cool air actually reaches my office for the first time in the ten years I've been in this space!

Beth

Maybe we could organize differant age group meet-ups for the first day. Specify a place and time for each age group. That way all the kids in that age group can meet and get to know each other before they spend the next 14 days together.

I'm sure Luke will be very happy to meet Will and Josh. It sounds like they will have a great time.

Lucie will be looking for friends in the 5 to 7 age group.

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

I'm excited to see Villains tonight on the Wonder!:yay: Had thought it was the Magic only.

Maybe the kids could come to the general meet on the first day? Or maybe a "Kids meet" of all ages at a different time? I'm thinking what if a parent has kids of more than one age? (Old lady gets easily distracted by details like needing to be in two places at once)

Anyone else at the Doubletree before the cruise? I'm thinking DINNER. (Always, thinking about food. sorry)

Happy Day, all!

I only have one child, but he loves making new friends, so we are totally in for a meet the first day. Billy is best friends with everyone he meets, and immediately joins in with other groups (whether they want him or not).
Is there enough time to do staggered meets for those families with different age groups? You frequent cruisers would have a better idea, but different areas of the pool or something?

Thank you for checking! Hopefully someone will be able to tell us if he is still on board...I can't believe he has been there since at least 2003!

On the recent Hawaii, they had the kids meet on the sports deck on the first sea day.

Great idea! We missed our cruise meet on our Mexican Riviera cruise because it coincided with the lifeboat drill, which as first-timers we felt compelled to attend.
