I booked our flights a couple weeks ago and just sucked up the price...over $600 a person, nonstop from Miami to LA. Since it is just the kids and I, I didn't want to take any chances of not getting a nonstop flight and having to fly into Atlanta or somewhere east and being delayed due to weather. My kids are still believers and I want to make sure we make it back before xmas. I also didn't want to chance not getting seats together because I don't want my kids sitting alone. Thank goodness for the price drops on this cruise. Takes the sting out a little of the flight price.

We would like two certificates too, please. Thank you. :goodvibes

We would like the certificates as well. Do people typically get one for the family, or for each member of the family?

You have both been added to the list.

Gdes1, I will double-check with the publisher, but I believe you could go either way...one for each member of the family, or just put the family name. I will let you know for sure. Personalization is up to 40 characters.

Ouch! :scared: I'm waiting for Virgin America to release their flights for December. As of now they have 2 non-stop flights daily from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles for around $130 per person. Even with a rental car and a hotel, if we stayed 1 night for a 7:00 am flight, we would still be saving money. I hope it all works out.

Looks like you only have a few more weeks before you're on the Wonder again! :yay: Are the kids excited and are you counting the days? I'm so jealous! Hope you have a great time!

Oh, I am so excited about this cruise!

If the certificates are coming from the same place the 2011 WBPC got theirs, they are LARGE - VERY large. Unless you've got a big wall, I'm thinking one per family will be Plenty. (Mine is rolled up in a drawer - it was too big to scrapbook.)

Wow, $130 per person sounds great! Maybe I should have considered flying out of Fort Lauderdale. I was looking for the most simple plan since this will be the first time flying alone with the kids.

Yes we board the Wonder in just 4 weeks! The kids have no clue we are going! They do know that I am going on the "mickey boat" 7 week from today for the Hawaii cruise. There were bummed that I am going without them so they will be stoked when they learn about the cruise in 4 weeks. Grandma and Grandpa will be joining us too. We leave on Easter so I will be doing a egg hunt/scavenger hunt that morning to surprise them! Last November I also surprised them and managed to make it all the way to the port without them even suspecting. The boys were so engrossed in their hand held video games that they didn't even notice the large mound of suitcases in the back of the surburban covered with a park blanket. LOL I didn't think I'd be able to get away with that again, especially since a shuttle van will be picking us up! :rotfl2:

We just booked our flights! If you can possibly fly from Philadelphia, there is an early AM CHEAP light most days. We booked two extra legroom seats, with trip insurance, for both of us for a total, including taxes and fees, of just over $400! I expected to pay that for each of us! Of course we have to be at the airport at 5AM, but it's worth it!

Is this to LAX??? What airline???

Yes,to LAX on United/Continental, straight through. We're flying on Saturday, the flight leaves at 7:52 AM. There are lots of seats available. It looks like that same flight goes every day for about the same price, at least through mid-December. My husband is great at finding discount flights!

I'm a planner, so I'm starting to think about clothing for all of us. What is everyone thinking in terms of dinner attire? There is no way we can wear something different all 14 nights. I'm thinking of packing one special outfit per person per formal or semi-formal night (I think there are three total???) and then otherwise repeating a few "cruise casual" outfits for all of the other nights. We will definitely be doing laundry while on board, anyway, because I'm only packing about 4 daytime outfits per person.

What are you planning?

I haven't even planned what I am taking with me in 2 weeks time!! :scared1:

Can I get back to you with that info around November 20th and I'll let you know then - okay?! :rotfl:

Newark would be the most convenient airport for us, but EWR-LAX on United/Continental is $735 one-way! I checked every Saturday between now and 12/8, and the lowest it ever gets is $669.

Based on my research for the WBPC in Jan 2011, the best bet for us is JFK-LAX on Jet Blue. Hopefully Dec dates will be released soon. As I did with United/Continental, I searched Jet Blue every Saturday between now and the end of their schedule (10/28) and the price ranges from $145-$337. Big difference from $669-$755.

Newark is better for us too, but the price is right! We'll call in a favor and get a ride to Philly Airport. There's a similar flight home from Miami when we get back. With the drop in price and these inexpensive flights we're still not back up to the price we booked at, so right now I'm one very happy lady! I can't believe what flights cost these days!

I'm planning on one formal for both nights for me (unless I lose a lot of weight and can fit in a black and white gown I bought when we first started cruising). The men in the family are just bringing one suit/tux. For semi-formal we dress in Chinese style clothing, and it packs nice and flat. Oldest dd is thinking of bringing her gown and her dress uniform (depending on what it looks like), and a short silver and gold semi-formal.

We're definitely going to repeating cruise casual for the rest, and doing laundry, since we're planning two days in Disneyland ahead of the trip. Trying to cut down on the shoes, too. That really kills us. Since we usually drive, baggage hasn't been an issue, but this time we're flying.

We were waiting for Southwest fares but have read they won't be out until May. I saw these fares and I'm thinking, wow, should I jump on it? We do want to fly into John Wayne in Orange County because it's closer to Disneyland. Decisions...

Thanks for the heads up on this - I just booked this same flight for $425.00 for the 3 of us - I can't believe the cost - its cheaper to fly across the country then it is to fly to Orlando - go figure :confused3

It's a small world that we'll be on the same flight :thumbsup2

Cool! We'll meet at the airport then! I can'timagine there are many cheaper fares. Now DH and I need to decide where to stay once we get there. We're not planning to do anything except relax and catch up with the time change.

As for clothing--we pack as little as possible. I bring some dark dress pants and lots of tops that dress up or down. My formalwear is all "scrunchable" and DH rents a tux. We enjoy dressing up but don't enjoy packing!

John Wayne is smaller so it's easier to get in and out of and it is a little closer to Disneyland. (John Wayne is about 20 minutes and LAX is about 40 - 45 minutes.) Not sure what the price difference is, just something to think about.

Thanks. I thought LAX was further from Disney than that. The flights are a little more expensive to John Wayne-- about $30 dollars each, but when you're buying five tickets, that adds up to another ticket to LAX on United/AA.

I'm a planner too (and I'm driving my family nuts) - DH will bring a suit for the formal and semi-formal nights as well as for Palo. For the other nights khaki type pants with polos. DD will bring as many clothes as I allow her - she loves to dress up and has been raiding her sister's closets for their homecoming and prom dresses. I hope to find a simple black dress for the semi/formal/palo nights with different accessories. For other nights I will rotate between several pairs of pants and different tops. I know I will be doing laundry - trying to pack as little as possible :laughing:
