Cool! We'll meet at the airport then! I can'timagine there are many cheaper fares. Now DH and I need to decide where to stay once we get there. We're not planning to do anything except relax and catch up with the time change.

MY DH said the same thing - I don't think the fares will get any cheaper - buy them now - just hope I made the right decision - we usually fly out of BWI - I don't know anything about PHL - like where to park????

We are spending Saturday night in Hollywood - my DD wants to see as much as we can in the 24 hours that we'll be there - if anyone has any tips on what to see and do please let me know - this is the part of the trip that is unplanned as of now.

Thanks for the heads up on this - I just booked this same flight for $425.00 for the 3 of us - I can't believe the cost - its cheaper to fly across the country then it is to fly to Orlando - go figure :confused3

It's a small world that we'll be on the same flight :thumbsup2

Are you by any chance in row 27 on this flight? If so, we seem to be the only five people on board. I guess we'll have some room to stretch out!

We've never flown from Philly, but I used to drop a friend there frequently. I've never had to park, and this time we'll be getting a ride down there.

We haven't decided about where we're staying or what we're doing, other than that we've booked DCL transportation from LAX to the port on the day of sailing. I have a cousin out there that I haven't seen in over 50 years, and we may visit her. Jim says he doesn't want to act like a tourist and go sightseeing, but I may be able to talk him into doing something. I've been to LA before, but he hasn't.

I forgot to mention that I'm one of the few women on this planet who hate shoes! I bring one pair of dressy black strappy sandals with a little wedge heel. Those meet all of my "dressing up" needs. I bring my good walking sneakers, a pair of Crocs flip flops, and possible one pair of black flats. That's it. Don't get me started on purses though...I had four of them with me on my Nov./Dec. vacation, and yes, I used them all!

There are a good number of private lots about a 10-15 minute drive from the airport. Most are outside, locked, etc. Some of them will shuttle you over in a van that runs a regular schedule. Some will take you as soon as you park and pay. Haven't used them in years, but have used this one back in 2008:

They did what they said the would, car wasn't damaged, etc.

The Parking Authority offers long term parking at the airport, but you get transported back and forth from the lot on a huge bus that runs on a regular schedule. Don't know much about that as we haven't used that lot since the '90s.

I just realized that I forgot to say we'd be interested in a Panama Canal certificate too!

Now I think I'll actually do some work before my boss thinks I just plan my vacations while I'm in the office!

Thanks. I thought LAX was further from Disney than that. The flights are a little more expensive to John Wayne-- about $30 dollars each, but when you're buying five tickets, that adds up to another ticket to LAX on United/AA.

Actually, Ontario International Airport is only about 40 - 45 minutes away from Disneyland too. It's more inland as opposed to LAx and John Wayne that are more costal. It's on the smaller side and really easy to get in and out of. I've never flown from there but my mom has a few times and I've dropped her off.

That would be us - may I ask where you can see the seating map of the plane? When I booked our tickets, row 27 was the first row available. I would like to be closer to the front.

Thanks for the info - I'll check those lots. I'm hoping my older DD can drop us off and pick us up, but I won't know that til closer to the cruise.

You should have an email confirmation for the plane (not th e-ticket and itinerary). On there is a link to manage your reservation. When you click that, one of the options is to view/change your seats, and it will show you the whole plane, with the occupied seats marked. You'll see our two seats all the way up in row 1!

Thank you - just checked and to move to the front of the plane will cost us $59.00 per seat - no thanks, I'll stay where I'm at :) I'd rather use that money on the cruise (that's quite a few Drinks of the Day :rotfl2:)

Yes, we did the Economy Plus. DH gets very restless and has to stand up once in a while. We know from experience that he's climbing the wall after a 2.5 hour flight to Orlando, and he wanted to get out and take a walk when we flew to Las Vegas for our son's wedding. He'd never make it to LAX! The seats we have will actually give him a space to stand up (we've been in that location before), even if there's someone sitting on the aisle. It also makes it a little easier for this old lady with "old lady bladder" to get in and out, although it's going to be a very long walk down that aisle LOL!!!

In any case, we'll see you at the airport bright and early on Dec. 8!

Too funny - my DH commented the other day that he never used the restroom on a plane before :rotfl2: We've only flown 2- 2 1/2 hours - told him, guess he'll find out what it looks like on this trip ;)

I can't imagine sitting for 6 hours - trying to think of ways to occupy us for that amount of time - I'm thinking Nyquil at take off :cool1:

We would like the certificates as well. Do people typically get one for the family, or for each member of the family?

Gdes1, I will double-check with the publisher, but I believe you could go either way...one for each member of the family, or just put the family name. I will let you know for sure. Personalization is up to 40 characters.

The publisher responded and the certificates can be personalized with either an individual's name or a family name, as long as it is under 40 characters.

As for pricing, if we are under 50 certificates, they will be $6.75 each, plus a $10.00 set up charge (for the group, not per certificate). If we go over 50, they will be $6.45 each, and the set up charge will be waived. They estimate the shipping to be about $16.

Once we get a total, I will divide it evenly amongst the group. I'm thinking we should set the deadline a month before we sail, which gives them plenty of time to print and ship, and leaves room for error.

Sounds great. Thanks for taking this on.

We have a Fantasy cruise in September-- and I can barely think about that one, because I'm so excited about the canal.

Well, you can walk up to row 1 and visit us! We'll be so tired from having to leave the house around 4:30 AM that I don't think I'll need Nyquil LOL!!!

I didn't realize how large the certificates were - can you change our order to just one for our family?

Thanks

Sounds very good to me!

Can we change ours to just one as well please. I didn't realise they were so big - I was thinking they were about A5 or A4 size! Thank you.

How large are the certificates? I don't see a size listed. That will help me decide how many we want. Thanks!

It sounds like they are larger than 8 1/2 x 11?? Since that is probably the case, we'll just take family one as well. Anything larger, I can't scrapbook it!
