How is the time change handled on this cruise?...Because we have really young kids, we did early seating and I can't imagine doing late. But I have to think of how the time change will affect their schedules....

Does anyone know the answer to how the time change is handled on this cruise? When I did some checking, it looks like Cabo is on MST and the rest of the ports are on CST and of course, Miami is EST.

On the Dec. MR cruise, we moved the clock ahead to MST before bedtime on Day 2 for our arrival in Cabo the next morning, but we stayed on MST (ship's time) for the rest of the cruise even though PV is on CST.

I'm trying to decide whether to book early or late dining for PC so wondering about the time change. We had late dining on the MR cruise which was relaxing, but I didn't like feeling stuffed at 9:30 p.m. each night. It made me feel sluggish and tired. Guess I should eat less! :rolleyes1 The other reason I'm thinking of trying early dining is that whenever we returned from our excursions, we were faminished so we ended up snacking to tide us over until it was time for late seating. In retrospect, I think I might like it better if we were able to eat after returning from our excursions and then IF we were hungry later in the evening, we could grab a light snack instead of having a heavy meal. Any thoughts?

Time Change -
From what I can tell by reading the Navigator's from the 2008 EBPC cruise you start on PST, then on the first night you turn your clock ahead one hour. Then Tuesday night turn ahead another hour and then the following Tuesday ahead the third hour. Don't know if it will be the same for our cruise or not :worship: I have a feeling won't ever know what time it is

I think that you are right about not knowing what time it is. I live in the central time zone and it seems that we will be changing time several times during this cruise. I think that my internal clock will be messed up for a few days after the cruise is over, but I know the trip and excitement of the cruise will be well worth it.

By the time we recover from the time change on the way to California we should be just about at the point where we have to start going the other way. I don't do very well with time changes. Changing to daylight savings time usually messes me up for a week LOL!!!

On the 2008 EBPC, what were the ports of call?

When I asked DCL, they said that generally ship's time mirrors the on-land time. Since all the ports of call except Cabo are on CST, you'd think we'd primarily be in that time zone until the night before we reach Miami.

I'm envious that this PC cruise stopped at more ports especially Castaway Cay! Maybe they'll add CC to our itinerary! I prefer more ports of call than sea days, but both my dd and husband prefer the sea days over ports so this PC cruise will be a dream for them.

I'm with you. I enjoy the ports, but like the fact that while in port, you have the ship pretty much to yourself, which is also enjoyable. So it is a win-win either way.

We are officially joining you on the PC Cruise as I just switched our reservation from the Fantasy! :dance3:
My daughter will be 14 when we cruise so I'm wondering who else will have teens in the Vibe?

My daughter will be 14 as well - we'll have to hook them up so they can get to know each other before the cruise :woohoo:

I just watched the show" How Did They Do IT? " today and it shows how the ships go thru the locks in the Panama Canal. The widest a ship can be is 106 feet and it looks as though this ship is there. The Fantasy and Dream were 125 feet wide. It was really interesting and all of the movement thru the locks took the ship they let thru about 8 hrs and has to be all done during daylight. It is going to be so exciting to watch us navigating thru the locks.

Welcome new cruisers.

For those of you waiting patiently with me for Southwest flights for December, I just saw on another post that SW has pushed back the next release date til June 4th

Great to hear Tammy!

Brenna was excited when I told her about your DD - I have been warning her that there might not be alot of kids her age on board due to the timing and alot of families not wanting to or aren't able to take their kids out of school for 2 weeks.

Does your daughter text? Or would email be better? Brenna turns 14 in May - she'll be in 9th grade in the fall - she does cross country, track, swimming and dance.

My husband and I just signed up for this cruise today. This will be our second Disney cruise (our first was on the Wonder last fall. Vancouver, BC to Los Angeles) and we are so excited to get to go on the Wonder again. We will be traveling with a group of friends so that will make it even more fun.

I was wondering if anyone is considering starting a Fish Extender gift exchange. That was one of the highlights of our first Disney cruise and would love to participate again if possible.

I am currently waiting for the ok from work to take this amount of time off so close to Christmas. If I get the go-ahead it will be me, my DD (5) and my mother. I cannot begin to fathom the bliss of a 14 day Disney cruise. (we are going on a 4 day in May, so that will be a tease!)
