EBPC December 9, 2012!!! PART 2

I just finished sewing 15 FE's tonight. My sewing machine died on me 2 days ago and it took awhile to figure out it was cheaper to just buy a new one. LOL

I took photos and will be in touch with everyone tomorrow...I am off to bed...

Bless your heart! And again-Thank you! Go get some rest.

So I just finished labeling all the fish extender gifts and packed them up...ummm, they took one whole large suitcase...and I would not want to be the porter that gets this one! It is rather heavy. I am just glad we are driving down to the port and not flying...I would be paying a lot for the weight! Now I have to figure out how I am getting my clothes packed! DH better pack light so I have room for my stuff!

I am not even halfway through labeling ours. I am working nights till Weds, then we drive down Friday evening, so hoping to do the rest on Weds afternoon. I brought some to work, but to do the rest at work would require too big a bag of assorted stuff.

Who did you guys end up renting from? I have res with both Hertz on 10th and Budget at Sears, trying to decide which to go with since the cost is fairly similar.

Ahem, I will take up the space needed in the suitcase. I need to look dapper. I already told DW that I will have two main types if footwear. Flip flops and slippers.

Only 2 types of footwear? Wow, DH has dress shoes, sneakers, water shoes, walking shoes... We both tend to overpack, but with the zipline tour possibly leaving us with wet shoes, I will be bringing some Keens for that, an additional weight to fill our bags.

Jeff, I like your thinking that husband's get 25% of the space! But if we have to, we will bring another suitcase...it will just have to be carry on size since we are flying back from Miami.

Deanna- we are flying home First, so get a total of 6 bags. I don't think we will need that many, so if needed, we can carry one home for you.

Wow, how nice of you to do that for people.

It just occurred to me as I was doing a little packing that one of the cards was for Linda's (adnil530) daughter who is now not going on the trip.

Soooooo.....do we still bring the cards and Mom can take them home to her? Or, would that be a horrible reminder that she wasn't on the cruise for her birthday? :headache: Linda?

Thank you so much for being so sensitive. I know that people will be leaving things for Laura in her FE as her cancellation is so close to our sailing and things are already done. She will be disappointed that she was not on the cruise with us and that so many people thought good thoughts for her. If you have something for her, I will gladly take it to her. It will not be horrible for her. It will be a reminder to her that people that she doesn't even know care about her. And that she has an obligation, just as much as I do, to keep the deals that were made. She totally understands the reasons that she is not able to join me on this wonderful trip. I think this entire experience will be a positive one for Laura, in many ways, in the long run, although she doesn't see it as such right now.

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Can it really be? NEXT SUNDAY!

YOU should be sleeping sweetly too! 3 am? Clearly, you are a good mom, and I'm sure Laura is growing up a fine young lady.:thumbsup2

Snow melted yesterday afternoon, too late for my excursion, but just in time to walk down the street to the neighborhood party. It was good.

Today is PACKING day:banana:

Happy day, all!

Good Morning Fellow Cruisers,

You guys are driving me crazy with the number of posts. I tired after ready them. I am slowly getting through my to do list before I go. Yesterday was a Santa Claus run. It was a wonderful day, and I have great pictures. I am not sure how to post on the DISBOARD without it loaded on a website, so I may try face book. Off to the gym, and then finishing my to do's.

It has been a very long, very stressful week and I am really going to need this vacation.

There were a few bugs going around the ship last week. While were lucky enough to avoid the stomach bug, dd11 got the horrible cold/cough which has now been passed on to the rest of us, including myself. This triggered dd16's asthma which required a long emergency room visit Thursday night. Dh took an extra 6-8 hour job on Thursday and ended up working 32 straight hours. When he returned home late yesterday, our wonderful Border Collie Bernie could finally stand no longer. After almost 16 years, we assisted him in his journey and we laid him to rest late yesterday. I don't mean to complain when so many people up here have suffered losses and tragedies much greater than mine but with everything compounding, I just can't wait to get away.

Linda
I thought just having to pack was stressful. So sorry to hear about the loss of a family member. I remember when my first DD was born, we had a dog in the hospital having a leg removed due to cancer. My Mom told me it was a little foolish to be worrying about a dog when I had a real baby coming home in a few days. As it turns out, Sam was not only a loyal companion for me, but a loving friend for my DD. Until she was 7 my DD drew pictures of dogs with 3 legs. We had to put her to sleep shortly after that. I still miss her to this day. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Well yesterday was packing day at the Sadowsky house, we survived but barely....DH has the smaller sized suitcase and I have the larger one, we shared one garmet bag, then as carry-ons, we have one roller bag (has FE's and extras like door magnets), our SCUBA gear bag, camera bag and an electronic/activity bag. As DH was loading the garmet bag, he said "I count 8 dresses" me thinking he was concerned about the other nights dresses responded with, "Oh don't worry, I was able to put the others in my suitcase" What DH really meant was, why are you BRINGING 8 dresses? Opps. We ended up fitting my dresses and his suit, tux, blazer and dresses shirts in the garmet bag. I was very proud of myself that I was able to limit myself to 3 dress shoes. I am not happy with how they look with every dress but I guess I will survive, just don't look at my feet! Now on to finish the FE's. I have a 100 left to do, panic mode! Good new is the landfill work got cancelled for tonight.

Crap, I forgot about spare shoes for the excursion. DH packed 2 pairs of dress shoes, black and brown, flip flops and running sneakers. Looks like we are going to pack one more pair. Keens willl work as long as the toe is covered. I was thinking about using my 5 fingers but I'm worried about support on the ladders and water shoes aren't a good idea.

Yeah, our keens have the covered toe. I wore them through-out WDW last summer. Just add a sock I think for the zipline. I agree, I would not bring water shoes for the zipline.

Ahhh, Keens! Our entire family lives in Keens ~ best shoes ever!

On Sunday, as soon as we board and eat lunch, my DS (9) and DS (8) will be up on the sports deck playing soccer and basketball until the M&G at 2:30. :duck: Nothing too competitive, just a good way for them to meet other kids. If you're around, please join us.

Also, during our two weeks away, we will attempt to complete the 2012 EBPC Disney Wonder Half Marathon. We plan to run one mile every day and hopefully by Miami will have logged 13.1 miles. It will be a rather slow pace as some of us (that would be me) aren't so fast. :snail: Again, the more the merrier. We'll run in the mornings. Does anyone know the schedule for breakfast? We'd love to set a time certain every day (though port days may present a challenge).

Can't believe we're only a week away! Now, off to pack and try to finish Path Between the Seas.

P.S. -- Thanks for all of your packing list suggestions. They are extremely helpful. Yet, even so, I'm still positive I'm forgetting something. Arrgh!!

If we are on the ship and done with lunch, you can count on L&L being there.

I LOVE this idea! So cute!!! DH, my sister and I (and most likely the kids)will be running every morning. We normally aim for 7-7:30am. That way, we get our run in, shower and can make breakfast. I am also a snail while DH is a cheetah . One the first day, DH askes guest services for the time when the bow will be closed due to docking. We then plan around that. There are only 4 port days so I won't be a huge issue and we can adjust the schedule the day before. For those looking to log more miles, we could add a marathon and Ultra! Nephew loves certificates, so maybe I will design one for each category and we can present them on the last day? DH will be working with the nephew on pacing this cruise using the ship like laps on the track. He really misses coaching since UD cut the men's track team....

Happy day, all!

I was very restless last night and about 7 p.m. decided to go grocery shopping. I've been preparing freezer to crock pot meals! Got a dozen meals done last night and will continue this am with a dozen or so more. DH loves them as they are more creative than my regular menus. It's so easy to drop a frozen blob into the crock pot and return home later to a hot meal, ready to eat! I'm determined to not let these guys starve while I am gone. Subway and McDonalds will surely miss my clan this month :lmao:

 What wonderful memories for you and your dd! I can only imagine the pictures she drew of this 3 legged dog that she loved so much. I'll bet that dog taught her many things that you or I could not. Like your daughter, I know my daughters have loving memories also.

And WHEN will ye be having time to do that Missy? I thought you were billing out 300 hours this week?

Now you're making the old lady cry.

I've cut my clothes down to bare minimum and my suitcases are over full. NOW what?

I will sign my DH up for the running. Here in Houston he either runs 4 or 5 miles a day or rides his bike 15 or so miles. He is a retired Marine and has done always done this. He isn't fast but he is steady. Sherry. (meanwhile I will keep a walking pace for my mile a day):cool1:
