I have never bought anything on Ebay since there are many stories like yours (or worse) from people trying to run some sort of scam. I find Amazon a much more reputable place to shop online.

I don't blame you. I have had more negative than positive purchases on Ebay. I stopped Etsy, too, because of some crazy sellers.

Plus, I realized I just like new things direct from Amazon or other stores.

You can set a filter to only see US sellers. That should eliminate some of the issues.

Isn't the shipping supposed to be calculated based on locations? It's been a L-O-N-G time since I've even looked on ebay, let alone bought or sold but I thought that was the case. Seller is in Tumbuk 2 and based on your location at WDW the postage is then calculated as $##. Maybe I am wrong.

Amazon is good since these tend to be companies who are using Amazon as a 'storefront' to handle payment/etc. People who sell one-time items tend to be more on places like Ebay. Even when shopping for various household items, I always look at various sites since the online Walmart site is often cheaper for the same item sold on Amazon. Prices on Amazon for some items can be all over the map too, but have never had a bad experience making a purchase on Amazon.

Wow, you have been having eBay issues on both sides of the transaction lately! I stopped using eBay maybe 15 years ago, when it started going more to storefronts, and it seems like it’s been going downhill since. It‘s a shame that some items can’t be located any other way, but I don’t plan on patronizing eBay any time soon.

I also don’t shop for anything on Amazon unless the transaction is being handled and shipped by Amazon. There are some sketchy third party sellers showing up there too.

I hope you are able to get the situation resolved to your satisfaction.
