Just a reminder to my fellow ebay sellers about spoof emails, I got one this morning! I was devastated!, it said that my account had been suspended! My spidey senses were tingling so I went to the ebay site and found information about spoof emails, I forwarded it to ebay and received an email back that confirmed it was a spoof email!
So beware my fellow ebayers don't click the link or give any information! If you are unsure of any email sent forward it to spoof@ebay.com

I got one too. They seem to be targeting me. I've gotten one every other for the past few weeks. each time it is a different email. The most recent, seemed to know I was contacting ebay about the spoof emails. It said something like thank you for contacting us about fradulent emails and went on to ask me my info and credit card number.

I had one from PayPal last week and forwarded it to PayPal.

A few tips to recognize whether the email is real or spoof

1. A real email will address you by name, not Dear Member

2. Hold your mouse pointer over the link without clicking it. Look at the bottom of the active window (usually a grey bar that frames your screen). The address of the link will appear in the area and if it doesn't say ebay or paypal forward the email to spook@ebay.com or sppof@paypal.com and delete the message.

I get these too! All the time...I also get them from Paypal saying they are going to suspend my account if I dont "update" my information. These people are relly something else...be careful.

I get them almost everyday, not only from Ebay but also from paypal and citibank, it's really outa hand, but I just delete them. Most of them end up in my spam box and the "real" ebay ones seem to end up in my regular mailbox.

Add Smith Barney to the list.

Have you ever actually clicked on them? What they want is just amazing. Let's see key the account number from your debit card and the PIN!!!! All your bank account info they could possibley ask for! YIKES! I hope no one falls for this, but I know they do.

I also got them from Paypal and Citibank in the last two weeks. Funny thing is, I don't have accounts with either of them so I don't know how they would be "compromised".

Hi,

Got one from Capitol One and US Bank. Called US Bank and they
say it's a scam and asked us to forward them the e-mail.
