I don't buy on ebay often, I have a paypal account but don't have it attached to my checking account. I'd really prefer not to do that. I won an action and when I try to pay I get this message:

The amount of this transaction exceeds your remaining sending limit and cannot be processed at this time. You will need to add and confirm your bank account to remove this limit. Once your bank account has been added and confirmed, you can continue this payment. Add your bank account information below.

Can we no longer use paypal without it being attached to a checking account? Really not thrilled with that and this seller requires payment within 3 days so I'd still have to open an new paypal account to get around this right now.

Any other way?

I would just get the full deal at PP if you intend to buy much. Then you can do instant transfers b/c it comes out of checking and you have a cc listed as a back up to be be a back up in case the check didn't clear. Then your seller gets aid immediately and you get you stuff quick :sunny:

I don't buy much, the account is almost always inactive. Would really prefer it not be attached to my checking account. Also prefer to pay for ebay purchases with a credit card wouldn't pay it out of my checking account.

You can use PP to pay with your credit card. I'm not sure about if you can add a credit card if you have not added a checking account, but when it defaults to my checking I click use alternate source and then select the credit card.

I agree about the checking account. I would not want it attached to my regular checking account. Instead I have a separate checking account that it's attached to (very small amount of money kept in it). I can easily transfer money in and out of that account as I need to.

A lot of people, myself included, really don't trust paypal. After reading about all the frozen accounts people have had through no fault of their own, I'll NEVER use paypal again. So definately don't tie it to your main account.

I got the same message from paypal today when trying to pay for an item I won. We dont have our account attached to a checking account just our credit card. There are enough funds on our card. I dont understand why it wont let it go through?

Make sure the funding amount is your credit card not you paypal account. If it available funds and you do not have that amount in your account it may not allow the transaction.
