Hey all of you Ebay experts...

Wondering if you can help me....

I had a Creative Memories album listed - it was bid up to $30 - came back to check on progress and found it had been removed - due to VeRO... Can anyone help? Explain? Can it be relisted with a different description? This was the title:

8227962866 - CREATIVE MEMORIES 7x7 ALBUM BABY BOY SNAP "COMPLETED"

In the body I had a disclaimer - I'm not affiliated with Creative Memories and do not represent myself as such.

I was excited to be selling this item to someone who could use it...

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Melissa

Seems that it may have been your disclaimer that started this. Or, did you use a stock photo from Creative Memories? I had one cancelled on me because I used a photo from the Coach website for a bag I was selling.

Hi...I had a Kate Spade bag up last week and the same thing happened. They didn't tell me what the specific problem was so I am as confused as you are. I wish E-bay would explain in detail!

My guess would be that if you used a picture from the CM website, that would get it pulled, since CM owns the copyright to the photo. I think you're ok if you take your own photo to post in your auction.

It was my own picture of the Album I was selling the Snap Pack Book and the page protectors.

Hmmm... I'm going to try to relist and see how it goes - I guess I'll look at some current auctions and see how their disclaimers are written.

eBay can be really jery like that. You may never know exactly what the problem was, although my guess is that it had something to do with CM in the title.
If you do list it again, be careful. Usually the first time they pull it, its a warning and the second time they suspend your account. Just wanted to let you know...

Thanks! I wish I had the email of the high bidder! Drat! It ended tomorrow and already had 6 watchers and was up to $30!

I had some computer software pulled last year in the same manner as you.

However, I have both bought and listed many CM items on ebay and have never had a problem with it. I would email or call someone from ebay and ask them about it. That's not fair that there's tons of auctions for CM stuff on there but yours got listed. I'd check it out...it's worth a try anyway

I've sold CM stuff before, and I didn't have it pulled. I even sold 10 of the same item, and I was fine.

Email ebay or call them. They will most likely give you the email address of the Company that asked them to pull your auction.

Good luck!

You should receive an email from ebay (sometimes they're delayed) explaining the removal. It does have to do with property rights:

Why was my listing removed through VeRO?
When your listing was ended, you should have received an email explaining why your listing was removed. If the email stated that your listing was removed at the request of a participant in our VeRO Program, then we removed the listing because that rights owner identified your listing, under penalty of perjury, as offering an item or containing material that infringes their intellectual property rights.

I had the Cm attorney contact me about an auction because I had other products that were not Cm with it, I ma not sure what they could do about it but my auction was cancelled. Be sure to use your own pics and the disclaimer should be done. If you are a rep, you can be fined a lot of $$. Can you tell us exactly what your title was ????

Okay... I dug around the site - found the About Me page of the VeRO members - found Creative Memories....

What I deduced is... this auction (exact description in first post) - was for a "completed" album. I used the Baby Boy Snap pack to complete the pages and I listed as Creative Memories Album - I'm guessing I "altered" the Creative Memories product when I affixed their snap pack items to the pages. Therefore, they do not want their name associated with the "handmade" product in the TITLE (in case I did a really BAD job!) I'm free to use Creative Memories name in the item description. At least this is what I assume from what I have read.

Now, I wonder if "CM" is licensed? I need to check that out before I relist.

Thanks for reading and offering your advice!

Melissa

That sounds like it could be the right explanation. CM consultants aren't allowed to sell "altered" products, even if it only contains CM stuff, so I guess I could see how they wouldn't want their name attached to an "altered" product.
