EBAY ISSUE!!! Pls help!

For me it's about making a sale. She said she didn't ship internationally, so the gal found a work around. IMO it doesn't deserve a neutral. Sure she can refuse to sell it to her, and not get a bad mark, however, unless it resells, she'll owe the listing fees (and she can end up with a big fat negative, as unfair as it would be..but if she can leave that nuetral, the bidder can also leave feedback). Yes, she'll get back the end fees, and if it sells won't have to pay again for the listing fees again, but what a pain. She sells and ships within the US, and everyone is happy. My son in Ireland has stuff sent to me all the time, and I send within the US if someone wants me too.
I don't see any reason why it would be a nuetral, just because she didn't answer the email (thinking it was spam)..since she says she ships to the US, and that is where it can be shipped.
And I would totally agree with you IF the OP told the girl that this was ok. But she didn't. She didn't respond to her. The bidder went ahead and bid and continued to ask for it to be sent directly to her. Regardless if she had a US address for it to be sent to, the fact is that she didn't wait for an answer and she asked about it being sent to her again even though both the auction and the OP said no. Obviously the OP had a problem with this to otherwise she wouldn't have filed a complaint with ebay. People may not find that as a reason to give a neutral, but if someone isn't listening to what I'm saying and continues to ask me about direct shipping when I've already said no, they're not going to get a positive from me because they're clearly ignoring what I'm telling them. If this was an item she really wanted, she should have waited until the OP said it was ok for her to provide an alternate address...not to just bid and assume the OP would ok with it. If this was all worked out with the OP and the OP said it was fine, that would be something different. But the OP did not say it was fine and they even tried to cancel the bid. So obviously the OP wasn't very happy with the person. So why should they leave feedback indicating the experience was wonderful when clearly it wasn't??

The only people who should be offended are those who would pull a stunt like this. It's one thing if you have everything arranged before an auction's end (in which case, yes, the person would deserve a positive). Quite another when you just bid unconcerned about what the seller wants.

I'm just not seeing it as a big deal. I work with my buyers. She didn't answer the email because she didn't realize it was from her bidder, she thought it was spam. So the gal asked again if it could be sent internationally after she won it (knowing she could get it shipped within the US, if hte answer was another no). All the seller had to do was say no. It's not like she sent email after email. If you don't ask, you don't know the answer. She provided a US address, so I just don't see what's the big deal. I'm in it for the money myself, and if I can work out a sale, I do. I see no reason for a neutral. If you do, that's fine, and if it happens to you, you can give one..and lose a sale.
If the buyer said," fine, if you won't ship it out of the country, than I'm not paying"..now that I would have a problem with. If she (the seller) decides to not complete the sale, the only one who loses, IMO is the seller.
Lots of newbies are afraid to ship out of the US, and maybe the buyer thought she would have a change of heart. She didn't and she now has a place to send it within the US. Like I said, no big deal to me..I just want their money (and one little note that I have to write, saying no, I still won't ship out of the country, beats relisting)..and if I have to answer a second letter and say, no sorry, it still has to ship within the US..so what. I've had much weirder requests from sellers. I've had to work with buyers, and some of them have come back time and time again, just because I was courteous (and sometimes they weren't).
Of course this said... we are all in business for ourselves, and have to make our own decisions..so the OP can decide for herself, if this is something she wants to end up with a neg for (if she gave a nuetral, and ended up with a retaliatory neg).

PS: it took my 5 times asking CRO if I had a pin number by my name, before I struck gold!

So why should they leave feedback indicating the experience was wonderful when clearly it wasn't??
************
If I gave a neutral for every sale that wan't wonderful, I'd have some sad looking feedback, when they returned "the favor". I save my neutral and negs for really important infractions. I may give a pos that suggests the buyer needs to read the description, but as long as I get paid and didn't have to go too far out of my way..it's a postive. I've given my share of neutrals and negs, but they have to earn them..and in my opinion, this is just an agravation, not a bad sale.

So yes, she DID ask it to be send directly to her. That would be her ignoring what was said in the auction and what was actually told to her. Whether or not you find it ridiculous is not something that concerns me. If you find it so offensive, than don't do what the bidder did...that is, don't ignore what the seller said and bid anyway.

Perhaps because the OP didn't reply to her email regarding a US address, so she thought she'd give it another try. Is it really worth a neutral that she tried to ask again? She already said she had a US address, but the OP ignored it. So she already had a backup plan in place, but thought she would try again since the OP was unresponsive, thinking it was a scam. Clearly this bidder was willing to pay and have the item shipped to the US, so what's the big deal??? Why is it worth a neutral, just because she asked the question twice? In the end she wasn't saying "YOU MUST SHIP INTERNATIONALLY" - she was just asking, since the OP didn't respond about a US address. I too would be confused by the OP's lack of response.

Also, the actual quote is:
She has emailed me asking for an invoice and if I would send it to her directly -if not there is someone in US I can send to
So as you can plainly see, she already stated her backup plan.

Grrr... I hope I never have the misfortune of buying from you if you're so willing to leave neutral or negative feedback.

Note: The bidder was NOT unconcerned. The OP ignored her email. I would say the bidder WAS concerned, but really wanted the item... and obviously waiting for the seller's response wasn't an option, since the seller decided to ignore the email altogether.

DMRick, thank you for your comments! Very logical.

I would also like to take offence to your statement: "The only people who should be offended are those who would pull a stunt like this." Wow, generalize much?

Here was the conclusion to all of this...
Beside having a HUGE fight with BF b/c of all of this...(my not paying attention to who was winning the bid was an issue on my part)
She paid via paypal in a timely manner. I withdrew those funds and put them into my own account. And sent her the item directly. (better to send directly to her then to a 3rd party right?)
She left me positive feedback...but this was DEFINATELY NOT a great experience to say the least...like I said fighting with BF was probably the worst of it...but that shouldnt have happened in the first place...
SO, with that being said...I dont know what I am going to do about feedback...to be very honest I wasnt happy about the entire thing....I wont leave neg. fb b/c she did pay -unfortunately I dont like those that dont play by the rules...thats wrong anyway you look at it.
I will keep you posted. Thanks for all of your insight

The buyer was from Germany....she has very good feedback so I am mailing to her...Not worth the trouble to cancel the auction and besides I was told from EBAYS community board that since she did win the auction she could leave me feedback and I dont want a negative.

In researching what to do on the community boards there I was shown how to block sellers from countries I do not ship to so hopefully this will be the LAST time this happens (happened 2 or 3 times already to me).

It is under your seller preferences........check it out.

Edited... Didn't realize there was a page two stating issue was solved. I am very glad that it all work out for the OP.
