I listed a Vera Bradley bag for sell on ebay! The auction ended yesterday and someone won the bid. Tonight, they sent me a message through ebay and told me they did not want the item. The buyer only has one feedback and actually joined ebay the ninth of June. Do I just relist the item and am I going to be charged twice for having the listing? Do I report this to ebay? I've never had this happen before and am not sure what to do.

I haven't sold on ebay in a while, but as I recall you just need to wait for a certain amount of days and you'll be able to file a non-paying bidder report. After ebay nags the buyer they will eventually refund your fees. In the meantime, just re-list it.

The pp is correct, however I wouldn't relist the item until you've resolved it with eBay. I would wait just in case the buyer comes back and ends of paying for it....

Did you have any other bidders? If so, you may be able to make a second chance offer to that person. Not sure how that works with reporting your non-paying bidder, so you would have to do some reading on ebay.

I did have other bidders!

Thanks for the information.

Select the Resolve a Problem option from the drop down menu next to the item in your Sold window. There is a "buyer doesn't want item" option. Once the buyer responds to it, Ebay refunds your fees. :-)

This is when, back in the old days, you could slam the non paying buyer with negative feedback. I am not sure if you can do that anymore though. Used to be sort of fun, getting some revenge, typing "Deadbeat!" etc. :rolleyes1

ebay is just a ton of joys, on buyer and seller sides when people can't do as they say.

If you do a second chance offer, you will still have to pay the ebay fees.

If you send a report to ebay that the buyer does not want the item, the buyer then has to agree to the cancellation. If the buyer declines the cancellation, then it's usually 7 days before you can report a buyer as a non payer. At that point, you can get your fees back, and make a second chance offer.
