Ebates 20% back for Orbitz tickets

I ended up buying the tickets but am fortunate enough to know someone who is going to FL soon who is willing to pick them up for me in April. The fine print made it out like you absolutely had to pick up the voucher during the window, so I figured it was best not to take chances.

I got my voucher immediately and am now waiting for it to reflect in my Ebates account :woohoo:.

So I had the same conversation with an Orbitz rep today and I told her that I thought she was wrong. She connected the call with Disney Ticketing. The Disney CM confirmed the tickets are not "active" or the 14 day countdown does NOT start until you enter the park for the first time.

I told her I thought she was wrong or didnt understand me or what I was asking. She did call Disney ticketing too but did not connect me with the call. She did however give me my magic code - which was not in my email or my voucher. So, I will be well armed when I go. I am not confident enough to order more tickets. I was going to order two more tickets for my parents. But, if all goes well ( as I think it will - I trust my DIS friends more than the orbitz csr - )I will orders more tickets the next time this promotion is offered. I plan to keep going to WDW for many years.

I just got off the phone with Disney and they were able to link my Orbitz tickets to My Disney Experience with no problem. The CM said the tickets are attached to my reservation and I can make FP+ reservations at 60 days. She also said I did not need to go to the ticket window to redeem my voucher since the tickets are already linked to my reservation and they will be on my magic bands. I'll have the vouchers with me just in case but looks like my reservation is all set!

I just read that Disney is increasing ticket prices AGAIN tomorrow (up $4). Glad we got in on this deal!

I think this is on the single day ticket only. There is no mention of multi-day tickets in the announcement.

You can also do this yourself. CustomerRelations@orbitz.com can provide you with your MyMagic+ code and you can use that on Disney's website to link the tickets to your MDE account. Happy to finally report this worked for me!

Question:
Do I have to have a "package" - full price room and tickets - to get free dining if I am booking for the fall?

If I bought these tickets for october and free dining comes out, will I not be eligible for free dining if I don't buy tickets directly from disney?

This has already been answered many times, but no, these tix aren't eligible for free dining (or paid dining)

I think mine connected me as she knew I didn't believe her so she figured I should hear if directly. And of course she was wrong, but she ended putting herself on hold and came in late to the conversation (so she never heard the correct answer that tickets are not active until you enter the park).

You can link the MyMagic+ code to your parents names in MDE for their tickets and it avoids the concern (or so I would think :)).

For whatever reason, that is how the Disney computer system is set up. If you don't use it at least once, you will have to pay the difference in the price you actually paid and the ticket you want to upgrade to. Once you use it, the Disney system assumes it's a regular ticket so you get credit for the gate price.

I read an interesting way to look at this. When you buy the ticket, think of it as a gift card with a set dollar amount on it. So if you try to upgrade at that time, you are parading based on that dollar amount.

If you use the ticket once, the gift card has purchased a ticket, which at that point has an attributable value (which is different than what the gift card had).

Are you picking up your tickets before the trip you plan to use them on too? My parents are not going with us in March. They are going in December with us so I don't even have MB for them yet, but thanks for that idea.

hoping someone can give me some input, if i purchase tickets and put the date as this this friday, i could then pick them up as early as wednesday since it would be beyond the 72 hours as it states correct? does anyone know if i could then use the tickets on wednesday even though the date is not the same that i entered on orbitz? thank you in advance for any information!

Saved $2532 by renting DVC - check
Saved $375 with this ebates/orbitz deal - check check!
Now fp+ is stressing me out. I know that everyone is having success linking these vouchers to my Disney experience, but while a few of my party is at Old Key West the other couple are offsite. So I am hoping I can link them to me and do all of our FP+
I can already see their names when I log into my account because we all stayed together at Port Orleans Riverside last June so maybe I will be able to copy our fast passes for them as well.

I hope it works - if not it is going to be hard and complicated to travel with friends and family in the future. Thanks Dis for the savings!!:)

So I ordered my PH buy 3 get 3 free tix (3 adult , 1 child) and room for 5 days for our impromptu March trip yesterday. Went through Ebates/orbitz. $2042. I know it says up to 40 days past travel to credit the money. Today I got email from ebates saying my account had been credited for orbitz purchase. I was credited a whopping $13.70. Of course ebates Customer Care has generic links to "contact us" and all I basically was able to do was select "where's my cash back?" and fill out a form for name, order number, order amount and store. I am hoping someone gets back to me so I can see how they figured $13.70 (in fact it should be closer to $312). Anyone else go through ebates and have similar situation?

Did you call Disney with the confirmation number from Orbitz? Did you call the regular number?? Just curious how you did it. I am going to call today to get them linked!! We are going in August and I want to be sure that we can make 60+ day FP reservations. Thanks for the help!!

Did you add the tickets to the room or book it all separate? Ebates gives different % cashback at Orbitz based on categories. If you booked the tickets with the room maybe it falls under a category other than activities.

I got my magic code from Orbitz. Thank you to whoever figured out that one and posted the info!
So, it sounds like my ticket will be on my magic band once I link it to the reservation. If I am upgrading to an annual pass, can I do it with just the magic band or will I need to get a actual ticket first?

I just called Disney with my Will Call number, sat on hold for 45 minutes. They told me that I can't link the tickets and that I would need the ticket number from each of the tickets in order to link them to my Disney account.

They suggested I contact Orbitz and ask for the number from each ticket. Shouldn't Will Call at Disney have the tickets with the numbers on the back??

Can anyone offer any help??

I called orbitz last night to ask a different question. But while I was on the phone with them they did give me my magic code which is a different number than the one on your voucher. Call orbitz and ask for your magic code.
