From all my research it looks like the best prices for food are at the food courts in the AllStar Resorts. Am I correct or is there a better value elsewhere in WDW?? We don't want to spend a fortune but we really don't want to eat "yucky" food. I am hoping that the old saying "you get what you pay for" might not apply when I am looking for a reasonable way to go to Disney.

I think the food at the All-Star's is comparable in price with most of the counterservice restaraunts in WDW. We have stayed there on every trip and mostly just ate breakfast and lunch there.

Here is a link that shows prices for a typical lunch/dinner menu at ASmovies food court.

I thought the prices were OK and the food was OK, but breakfast wasn't so great. JMHO

If avoiding yucky food is important, then steer clear of the AS foodcourt!

We liked the food at AS, but if you are not staying there I would probably find other options. There are other good values on property. The best deal onsite appears to be Trails End . I think next trip we will be eating a few meals there.

Peco's bills in MK is a good value, as are many of the counter service places in Epcot.
Our favoirte way to save money is to bring breakfast with us to eat inthe room. Then we have a buffet lunch and a counter service dinner. I had rather use my time in the parks wisely and not run aroudn trying to find bargins outside of the parks on a park day. After all if you run around for all your meals you are getting your moneys worth on your park admission.

Another vote for TRAIL'S END!!!!!

You take a pleasant boat ride from the MK over to the campground. Pioneer Hall and Trail's End are only a minute walk from the marina. It is a tranquil setting, with a small play area just outside the restaurant, rocking chairs on the porch, and a free petting zoo just up the path.

The buffet is about the least exensive meal on property, and is all-you-care-to-eat. And the food is good!!!! It is not gourmet, for sure, but "home cooking" style. DH likes the chili and cornbread. DS likes the pizza choices. Salad bar is always well stocked and very fresh. Tons of main course choices at dinner too!

The AS food courts are not bad, but a bit over priced. To give an example, I paid $8.99 for a small portion of under-stuffed stuffed shells with one bread stick. Drink separate price. Plus tax. The cost at Trail's End is about $14 per person, at dinner. Breakfast is about half that price!

Plus, after dinner, you can take the FW bus a couple stops (about 5 minutes) over to the campfire & sing-along, and FREE outdoor Disney Movie. Very fun, with Chip & Dale visiting during the sing-along! Time it right going back to Pioneer Hall, and you can see the Water Pageant around 9:45 PM down on the beach, and if you're there at the right time of year, the MK fireworks too!!!!

Can you tell this is one of our favorite things to do, even if not staying at the campground? ;)

I personally had terrible luck at the all star sports cafeteria in January. The prices are comparable to the parks, so theres no bargain there, but the wait time was awful. They cook to order at night so when you order a hamburg, they pull out a frozen pattie and you stand in line 15-20 minutes waiting for it to cook. I literally waited 25 minutes for them to unthaw a hot dog and cook it for my daughter, which was inedible after. If i had it to do over again the two times i ate in the cafe i would have gotten counter or sit down service in the parks or if i had a car gone to the mcdonalds down the road.

We have eaten at all 3 All Star food courts and they were all pretty good. We preferred the lunch and dinner over breakfast. I think the food is comparable to say Denny's or Perkins. Some items better than others. It was reasonable as well as eatable.;)

Depending on how long you stay, the options get boring. If you are looking for something healthy, you will probably end up with a salad or sandwich. At dinner, though, they have fish and turkey breast, which is good. We used to walk over to AS Movies to eat dinner even if we were staying at AS Music because they had an extra choice that the other AS did not have. Like, a chinese type thing one day, mexican the next. I don't think they do that anymore. Does anybody know?

OK food at OK prices. We ate there several times on our last trip because the parks closed early and we had spent all day in the park and got back to the resort tired and ready to eat. We plan to alter ours plans this year and eat less meals there. I would never go from another resort just to eat there. The one exception was a great taco salad I had one night. Pizza was ok too.

I have stayed at the ASMu twice and the food at the food courts is very average. It does the job of being fast food but does not exactly tantalise your tastebuds

I love the freshly made salads you get from the A/S Movies during lunch time. No one makes a better salad on property. My husband enjoys the made to order omletts and my grandson could eat spagetti every night (if we let him). What I like about the food courts is that I'm not a big eater so many times I get the kids dinner of roasted turkey and gravy and one side of my choice. This summer when we take our grandson we are staying at the Contemporary (fast food place is not the greatest) so will be bringing our A/S mugs for those quick side trips over to the A/S for a meal or two. Also there are some other great places to get good meals. The Plaza restraurant at MK has great sandwichs and salads, along with the Kona Cafe at Poly. Both a good value and good food. During a 10 day stay, burgers and chicken strips get pretty boring. There are many other places to eat that are reasonable. We'll probably eat a few lunches at the Concorse Steakhouse, their prices didn't look too bad. We have eaten breakfast there and it's not bad. Still love Boatwright's Dining Hall at Dixie Landing for the best breakfast. While Whispering Canyon at WL is not high on my list.
