Eating both Carbs & Protein together really does Work

As a diabetic, having ONE piece of whole-wheat toast for breakfast still raised my blood sugar so today I decided to try having protein also to see what happens - I had one over-medium egg, one turkey sausage and one piece of whole-wheat toast. My blood sugar didn’t go up!

That was easy!
 
:thumbsup2 I'm not diabetic, but I have thyroid problems. I have to have a combination of the two in the morning. If I just have carbs, I'll get shaky.

Yep...it is all about the protein. Even for weight loss. Protein is something that once you start paying attention to how much and when you are eating it becomes an eye opener.:thumbsup2
 
Where did you get the idea that a diabetic could only eat a carb and that would be okay? :confused3

carb = sugar = blood sugar spike + super fast drop in blood sugar levels

protein = slower to digest, long burning energy

protein + (smaller amount of) carb = :woohoo:
