Eating at resort before validating AP ?

I don't want to validate my AP right away. I am staying off-site, will I have a problem with going eat at O'hana's or Whispering Canyon with a validated pass? Will I get charged for parking at the resort? TIA

If you get charged take the parking receipt with you to the restaurant. Either the server will give credit on the bill or you can go to guest services, showing both the parking and restaurant receipts, and get a refund of the parking fee.

Are you talking about parking at MK or parking at the resort where you want to have dinner?

Isn't it free to self park at the resorts if you are going there to eat or even just to explore the resort for a hour or so? I've never stayed at the Poly or WL, but at AKL and YC they do not charge to self park. You will only be allowed to park for 3 hours, but that's plenty of time to have dinner.

Edited to add: I just found this link at allears that explains that you have to go through the MK toll plaza to get to the Poly, so now I understand the problem. However the info on allears states that if you are checking into the Poly and inform the person at the toll booth of that, then you won't be charged the parking fee. Maybe the same applies if you have a PS/ADR for a restaurant there? Here's the link to the info on allears. Or... you could drive around the MK entrance gate. (Use the road that goes past Ft W.)
