Eating at different park?

Is it that much trouble to eat at a different park than where you were for the day? Like if we went to say AK for the day but had dinner reservations in MK? Or breakfast in MK but going to Epcot for the day? I am trying to plan our ADR's. Thanks!

We prefer to eat at or near the park we are doing on that day because we usually spend the entire day at the park. We don't like losing that valuable Disney time riding the bus to go to a different location.

It depends on when you will be there and what transport you will be using. IMHO, it is easier to plan your ADRs for close to where you will be for the day because it cuts down on "running around". If you have your own wheels, it doesn't much matter. But you can certainly head elsewhere if you desire. During busier seasons, it might take you longer to get to the other park or resort unless you have your own transportation. But it is certainly do-able. Just make sure you leave enough time in your schedule to "commute". Or take a taxi if time gets away from you.

I agree with PP. The first time I set up ADRs I made this "mistake."

If you are in AK for the day and have dinner reservations at say 6:00 pm at CRT you need to leave AK by at least 4:00-4:30 pm to go to MK to make sure you make your ADRs. Or if you go to CP in MK for breakfast at 8:30 am and are going to EPCOT for the day you will not arrive there until about 11:30 am.

For each reservation you need to figure in at minimum 45-1hr (depending on mode of transportation) to leave one park and get to the other. Then getting into the next park, walking to the restaurant (remember at Epcot if you are in the countries for dinner you will need to walk through the park all the way around the lake if you arrive from the front entrance), arrving 10-15 minutes early, waiting to be called then getting in to eat. You have spent any where from 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 hours and have not even eaten yet. To me that is time I could better use in the park I left.

Just my thoughts. I purposely planned this trip with ADRs for the areas we would be in. If we went to 1900 PF or CM for breakfast we went to MK for the day. It seemed to work out just fine. Hope this helps some. :)

Not really. We do it all the time. But remember to do that you need Park Hopping on your ticket

If you have your own car then it's easier. By bus it could be a pain in my opinion.

I have done it and didn't think it was that bad. We have park hoppers too.

On our DHS we had dinner at 1900 PF which wasn't a big deal to us. We just hopped on a bus to the GF and after dinner we went to the MK. We were done with our DHS day anyway.

Planning n an Epcot day to have dinner at CM's and then hop to MK EMH. Take the monorail.

AK day go to Ohana for dinner. Just hop on the bus to the Poly.

I would do MK to AK and then back to MK for the day. But doing resort restaurants isn't a big deal to me as long as it's a dinner ADR and we want to park hop that night anyway which we do most nights.

I have made ADRs for breakfast and dinner at different locations than the park are in but if I were going to the MK I would plan things around the MK because it is especially busy and the EMH are no different.

The AK doesn't stay open as late as the other parks so an dinner ADR in another park is easy.

However, to utilize your time to your advantage I would stay around the the area of your activities.

In slower seasons, we had no problem with this at all. We started the day at AK, went to Sci-Fi at DHS for dinner, and then hopped to MK for EMH. It was a great day!
