Eat to the Beat Concerts

Interesting that I just found an old Disney website showing Survivor playing the Eat to the Beat concerts at EPCOT Oct 24-25th back in 2013. https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2013/10/survivor-takes-the-eat-to-the-beat-stage-at-epcot/

Oooooh, hoping that the info really was out of date! We'll be there the 23-25 and aren't big Survivor fans. Hoping hard for Boyz II Men again, especially since David Cook is already confirmed at the beginning of the month! Last year we got Jo Dee Messina :-(

They've been Jersey Week performers for the last few years, so my money is on the Nov dates. We arrive on the 10th, so I'm hoping they play that night.

Missyrose - hope you are right for Boyz II Men Oct 3- Oct 6. We had Boyz II Men played at our wedding - (just the tracks not the real thing).

@pigby you'll like my Boyz II Men story then...
My husband and I spent the first five nights of our honeymoon in 2013 at Disney (literally waking up the day after the wedding and jetting off to see the Mouse). As we pulled up to Yacht Club after a lovely dinner at California Grill, we noticed that Wanya from Boyz II Men had gotten out of the car in front of us.

We didn't want to bug him, but we couldn't pass up the opportunity to tell him that we'd danced to his group's version of "Amazed" as the first dance at our wedding 24 hours before -- a song we'd first heard them perform at Epcot years before.

He was so excited and so happy for us. I mentioned we'd be at all three Eat to the Beat concerts the next day and asked if maybe they could perform the song. Wanya said they absolutely would and they did!

At one point he came over to our side of the stage and saw us and yelled "Amazed! Did you guys hear it?"

It was a truly magical bit of pixie dust.

I gotta say that I am disappointed by two acts who are performing during our trip. David Cook and Plain White Ts. But I was disappointed that Taylor Dayne was playing when we were at the Festival in 2011, and we wound up loving her show so maybe we'll wind up liking these acts as well.

I was hoping for 38 Special or Big Voodoo Daddy, but 38 is scheduled after we go home and it sounds like Big Voodoo won't play until the end of the Festival. Can't blame them for saving the best for last. :)

We are going the same time but I was all "I have no clue who these people are" then I went to iTunes and was "oh, I hear them at work on our music system daily, at least I'll no some songs"

Now if only the date between them would be announced

The past few years I keep getting The Pointer Sisters, not terrible acts mind you

I kinda remember the Plain White Ts being on an ICarly episode a few years ago when my son still watched Nickoldean shows. David Cook was an American Idol and that's the only thing I know about him. I really hope the act(s) in between are performers I'm more familiar with.

Whats awesome about the concert lineup is that they try to appeal to a large number of music fans with diversity. Not every band needs to be known by everyone attending the concerts. For example I LOVE David Cook - I usually stay all three concerts the day that I go. He is one of my favorite performers and I also like the Plain White T's. To me, I would rather see them than concerts by bands like Air Supply. Its a matter of preference. Who needs to constantly see people who have been touring for 50 years. That is what the flower and garden festival concerts are usually for. This year (as always) Herman's Hermits was my favorite but most of the others did not appeal to me so I didn't go.. Not everyone needs to like everything.

And being 36, two years ago was the first time seeing Air Supply and I enjoyed them...didn't know many songs but I definitely wouldn't mind doing them again. But if being in the candle selling business for 10 years has taught me anything it's that if we all liked the same thing I'd only have to sell one candle and that's a large jar of pineapple cilantro :-)

Missyrose - that's an amazing story - the song that was played first at our wedding was 'I Swear'.

We are also there whilst David Cook is on - which is great - followed him over here in UK on American Idol. Interesting to hear the likes and dislikes of others - I would have loved to have seen Air Supply but we are still over at Universal whilst they are on (doing a week at Cabana Bay before Disney World)

This is exactly how I've narrowed them down the past several times we've seen them at F&W.

They also appear to be available Oct 31 - Nov 2, which are dates that fall in line with past performances...

We are getting Starship and Air Supply and although they aren't my first choice, I love to just listen to live music and since I probably know most of their songs we will enjoy it for the experience not necessarily for the bands.
