Eat to the Beat Concerts

We are Fuel fans around my house  Unfortunately, we miss them. We aren't coming in until the first week of Oct.
Another Fuel fan! Do you know if they play their 90's songs in all 3 sets: Shimmer, Hemorage, Falls on Me, Bittersweet, etc???? If not, is the last show the best? I am most inclined to see the latest show. My husband and I would be in heaven if Big Bad Voodoo Daddy were to be there our week; but their website says they will be in Anchorage, AK around that time and they traditionally perform in November.

What is a good strategy if you don't plan on forking out $150 to eat to get 4 standby seats? Show up how early? Which show is generally less crowded?

Except for Boyz II Men last year we had no trouble getting seats without being there much more than 15 mins early. Dennis will probably require more time than that, we'll take a look at the first show and decide how to handle the later ones. The later the show, the smaller the crowd, B II M was jammed all 3.

Thanks Bill. We are going on the 18th which is a CL4 PM EMH day and are either going to do the 5:30 or 8:00 show. We have an ADR at Via Napoli at 6:30 and was thinking the 8:00 show would be better with everyone wanting to get a spot for IllumiNations. Honestly would like to do both sets but I don't think my wife will go for that. I am leaving that entire time block open and maybe play it by ear so to speak.

Last year, Fastpasses were available for these shows. Wristbands are also sometimes available at the Chase Lounge for Disney Chase cardholders, I believe. I don't know how hard it is to get seated for most of these shows. I've only ever seen Hanson, so I know people stand in line hours for them but I would hope that isn't the norm for all the other acts.

Another Fuel fan here. We miss them by 4 days (our last park day is 9/20). I was hoping for Toad the Wet Sprocket, but it looks like they are even later. I'm sure we'll stop by and check out whoever is playing, though!

1st show is always the most crowded and the last is the least crowded. The theater holds a lot more people that you'd think, sometimes you see the standby line waayy out there and once they let them in all those people don't even fill half the theater. Also didn't they offer FP+ for these concerts last year for the first time,if they do it again this year that's another seating option.

You know it has been driving me nuts with Disney being so slow to release stuff. They created the 180 days thing. I had to rearrange my schedule for the Halloween Party, and I still can not get ADR's for one day. I don't think I will re-arrange for the food & wine.

It depends on the group. Last September, I remember the line for the first show of Wilson Phillips snaked all the way to the ferry launch at Germany pavilion. A cast member told me that the first person was in line at 2:00 for a 5:30 show! We came back for the second show with no issues. However, my dad reported being able to walk right in to the first show of Christopher Cross the next evening.

You must of been there the same time as we were. We went to Wilson Phillips and really enjoyed it, and had wanted to go to Christopher Cross, but were too tired so we went back to the room instead.

We are going back at the some time this year. Fuel is there the 1st night we are there. I had never heard of them so I asked our kids if we would enjoy them and they said no. I guess I will google them to see.

I wish they would release the rest of the shows to plan our days.

Though an 80's teen, 90's alternative music is still my all-time favorite. I'd LOVE to see Toad The Wet Sprocket also. I'll be arriving the 2nd day Food and Wine Festival starts and leaving the 25th. I might could be persuaded to sit in on Wang Chung; but I'll scratch my ears to a bloody pile of pulp if I'm made to listen to Star Ship. I can't imagine being able to sit through Air Supply without falling asleep; however, if Southern Comfort were somehow slipped into a Diet Cokey....well, I've been known to give in to worse.

Funny how different we all are! I actually consider the Air Supply concerts to be enough to justify my AP - went to all 9 of them last year (5 from the front row!). :)

It depends a lot of the act. I didn't want to pay the money to see Rick Springfield last year. Between people with the package and those with FP+ very few if any stand by people were seated. They in fact started a bit late due to trying to squeeze in as many people as they could. I ended up standing outside of the seating area, watching, with quite a few other guests.

I seen 38 special they were good we now are going end of oct and they have not post whom will be there

Just an FYI, but when we say Dennis DeYoung last trip, he did 3 different sets at the 3 different shows. He basically played a whole concert in 3 separate sections. If you want to hear the whole show, you have to stay for all 3 sets. We ended up seeing 2 of the 3, and he played different music in each.

That's awesome. I wish Hanson would do that! They played several songs multiple times when they have TONS of great songs to choose from.

The two groups that I've seen bring in the biggest crowds were the Beach Boys and Boys II Men,I remember for the Beach Boys the line reached Germany then turned around and went the other way to the American Adventure then it made another U turn and reached Italy. The next day I walked in for the Family Stone 10 minutes before showtime and got good seats. There's a lot of locals that get out there really early for some groups, its not uncommon to see people in line at noon, which is a big reason the first show is the most crowded.

Hurry up and release the first week of October already. I need to know what days I need to book it to the chase lounge to get my wristband!
