Hi I am Pat. Pat the Poolrat.
This is my second TR. The first year long epic TR can be found HERE

I am a new DVC owner, even though this trip was at All Star Sports. I had this trip booked with a great pin code and my DVC did not close until early Sept.

This trip was the finish line of sorts to a year of change. The last post of the last report explains most of it so I will make you read that instead of rehashing it here.

I made a decision last year to run the 5K. I had been wanting to shed some baby weight, now that my babies are grown, and when another Diser announced she was going to run to help get the baby weight off I was intrigued. Now I am a swimmer as the name implies. I work in aquatics and have been plagued with bad knees for most of my life. I have never run more that 2 miles EVER before and I thought if I have almost 12 months to train why not?

Having an annual conference for the World Waterpark Association in New Orleans from Oct 3-7 made it sort of natural to "piggyback" again and go early to Disney and then head to the conference.

Add the 40th anniversary and well I have a special trip in store.

Sit back and enjoy the ride.

I'm here, and you are off to a great start, Pat (thanks for the heads up).

We were there for the 40th, too !! I have lurked on your other TR for a while now. I actually reference you in my current trip report. It comes in on day 5 which I have all typed up in Word, but I haven't posted yet. I will PM you when I post it :) I hope you had a good 5K. I have been wanting to try that myself and I need to lose some baby (or two) weight myself. Looking forward to reading more !!!

Let me go check out your TR. :thumbsup2

Here!

ETA: I read it now! And I will admit...when I first read your title I thought it read, "Eat, Run and CHOCOLATE." LOL! Celebrate is good too though. ;-)

I am joining in!! I was there the same weekend and also did the 5K and the crraaaaaazy day in the MK for the 40th! I'd love to hear how our experiences compare!

Here for all the running and celebrating!!! Oh, and the eating! I can't forget the eating. :lmao:

The eats were good this year. The Cherry Colada was back and Hawai'i had a popular booth too. Sometimes I felt like I was running and Eating at the same time. :lmao:

party: :welcome: party:

Joining in! We were there that weekend too, though we did not brave MK on the 40th. We were in Epcot and I was preparing to run the half that night. Can't wait to hear all about the 5K!!! :goodvibes

Welcome and yes MK right at opening was a bit nuts but I will admit it did settle down as all those runners had to get ready for the half that night.

party: welcome: party: I am so glad the weather got cooler. The first few day that week were still hot and I was a bit worried about the run.

You had great weather for the half too!

Here! I'm looking forward to hearing about the 40th since we decided to skip it.
