Eat at home

Last night we ended up having cheeseburger pie with sauteed veggies. Tonight is going to be leftover night/ whatever you can find. My grandma took us out to lunch as a thank you for getting her out of her house and to the grocery. So neither of us is too hungry.

So I don't have time to make my chicken noodle soup because my oldest Brock her pinky :sad2:so at her request Mexican takeout

Oh poor girl. Mine broke her ring finger a few years ago and she swears the shot to set it was the most painful thing she has ever experienced!

We are having dinner at home tonight. Hot dogs, chips and apples so not great, but it's at home.

My biggest problem to budget busting is DD. She is 14 and is constantly asking to get a drink here or me to pick her up dinner there. She is fast and loose with other people's money. It makes me nuts saying no over and over. This weekend she is on a retreat but they needed to bring $ for dinner tomorrow. It's at a convention center so you know the food is going to cost a fortune. Grrrr.

Cool idea!:cool1: I always plan my meals. I just found this thread and will use it for my menu starting Feb 12th - but for this week we are having:

Friday (Tonight, already eaten) - Turkey Paninis and Applesauce
Saturday - French Dip in the Crock Pot, Salad and Red Wine (for me, not the kid :lmao:)
Sunday - Superbowl! (Go Packers!) - Quite a bit of junk food
Monday - Chicken Fajitas and Grilled Zucchini on the panini maker
Tuesday - Baked Fish, Mixed Veggies and Brown Rice
Wednesday - Whole wheat pasta, organic tomato sauce and turkey italian sausages
Thursday - Leftovers
Friday - We actually have plans to go out for dinner :)

Poor thing. A few years ago my dd ended up breaking 4 fingers in 6 months. Actually 3 fingers because one was at the 1st knuckle and then at the base but at seperate times. The one at the base was broken into the growth plate. Luckily it healed properly. I remember that one because we were a week from going to Disney and she wanted to ride the roller coasters. Her orthopedist taped it up with a splint and said go and have fun. I was a wreck hoping she didn't hit it and knock the piece out of place that would cause surgery. I kept saying "hold your finger off the handlebar".:rotfl: She was annoyed by the end of the weekend. I was annoyed by the end of the 6 months personally.

Don't get me started on why her leg is in a cast now or why 2 years ago we were in an ER because she slammed into a 3rd story window at a hotel. Hope your dd heals quickly.

I am heading out to a late lunch with my best friend and my mom is out with her best friend for the day, so dinner is going to be a simple meal of chicken paprikash soup and biscuts.

Last night I made a semi-homemade meal! Frozen potstickers (fry in oil, steam for 8 minutes in a cup of water) steamed rice, & a cabbage salad with mandarins & slivered toasted almonds & sliced green onions with a plum/ginger dressing...

Tonight is Roasted Chicken with Corn Bread Stuffing. It's already in the over and smelling YUMMY!

I posted my stuffing recipe and a recipe for a quick weeknight pasta dish on my blog. See my signature for a link!

Here is our dinner plan for the week

Sunday Burger and fries to watch the game
Monday Chicken brushcetta bake
Tuesday Beef and brocolli rice on the side
Wednesday leftover chicken brushetta bake with some pasta
Thursday Soup and sandwich night
Friday Meatloaf
Saturday homemade pizza

thanks for the well wishes for my dd. it still hurts but she is feeling better:thumbsup2 She is more embarrassed with the way it looks. :rotfl2: girls!

Looking forward to tonight here is the menu

Starting with buffalo chicken meatballs
moving on to the chili
having a hot taco dip with the game
and topping it off with chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches

have a great day everyone!

My kids love, love, love the potstickers! I don't even have to do the fry and steam thing anymore. I just boil them in water for 8 minutes and you would think I was Kat Cora. I do them and make home made pork fried rice and everyone is in chinese food heaven.

We ate the meatball subs that I was going to make today last night. I thought we would have too much to eat with the Pineapple terryaki chicken wings I am making along with the buffalo blue cheese chicken dip.

I didn't post my menu last week, but we have not eat out since last saturday, end of January and indoor soccer league celebration, so we made it!:cool1:

This past week we had chicken parmesan, spaghetti and broccoli, homemade deep dish pizza, grilled chicken, long grain and wild rice and salad, beef stroganoff, egg noodles and peas, gumbo and homemade bread and I can't remember the other 2 nights.

This week:

Sunday: Super Bowl-hot wings, chicken ring, chips, carrots and bacon dip, barbeque cocktail weinies and other junk;
Monday: Taco soup;
Tuesday: Chicken divan with broccoli;
Wednesday: Chicken sandwiches, tater tots and fruit;
Thursday: Fajiatas and yellow rice;
Friday: Chicken strips, 3 cheese potatoes and corn; and
Saturday: Chili and hotdogs;

We got fast food last Friday night. I goofed! When I plan my meals, I make my grocery list. If I'm following a recipe, I make sure I go through it all. But I was making meatball subs and don't need a recipe, so I forgot to buy tomato sauce! Hello! I went through everything in my head, but forgot the sauce!

Oh well! This weeks menu:
today, Sun- Freschetta pizza
Mon- breaded chicken--dd fav!
Tues- citruis BBQ pork chops
Wed-tostada pizza
Thurs-pancakes, eggs and bacon
Fri-trying meatball subs again!

I'm so bummed we ate out twice this weekend...I'm suffering with a bad cold and just couldn't cook. Hope to get in the kitchen and make something yummy tonight for dinner.
I have to say that I feel like crap after eating junk food this weekend.

Well last night my mom decided to make pepper steak with rice for dinner so we will have the chicken paprikash soup tomorrow for dinner instead.

Tonight we are going to my grandma's for dinner and the game. The menu is

Shrimp
Meatballs with garlic parmesean and buffalo sauces
swiss and bacon dip with veggies
Pork BBQ sandwiches
Hashbrown casserole
pickles
strawberry shortcake for dessert

I think the recipe for Chicken brushcetta looks wonderful and I would like to try it. I looked at the recipe and it says to mix the tomatoes and water, but it doesn't say how much water. Is it the amount of water you would normally use to make the stuffing? Thanks for your help!

I haven't made that recipe, but it does look good. It doesn't seem like you would need any water since it uses 2 undrained cans of tomatoes.

tonight i made up the fixings for breakfast burritos for dd to eat during the week. i also have stomboli ,ade up for dd lunches. tonight we will probably have either for dinner. tomorrow i am making lasagna in the crockpot and salad. tuesday i will be doing stirfry with pork, vegis over brown rice. wednesday will be leftsovers if any or breakfast for dinner.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Thanks, I think I'll try it in the next few weeks. BTW, I did your taco soup from your website and it is WONDERFUL! My kids love it and it is sooo filling. Thanks, I just love your site. I have found some of the best recipes ever there.
