I have to confess too we had take out yesterday I tried to make a homemade pizza dough and it never rised but we did have a great movie dissapiable me. Very cute just wished it was Disney.
I also want to :welcome: aboard good luck!

So here is my pledge no eating out at all 30 days

Also as a side note I typed this from my new ipad!!!!!!:cool1::cool1:

I am also a part of the January "No-Buy" thread. Our goal is to eat out only once a week.....

I just finished making out my grocery list for the week. Tonight we will be going to Outback to use a gift card from Christmas.

Sunday - meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans
Monday - chicken tacos and fruit salad
Tuesday - pasta and peas recipe that I saw on another thread
Wednesday - vegetable soup in the Crock-Pot
Thursday - pork chops and baked sweet potatoes
Friday - Hawaiian chicken over rice and steamed broccoli

We ate out too! DD(17) was blindsided by a breakup with her first love. A change in scenery was needed. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings, played Buzztime at the table and she was distracted even if she only picked at her food. We're back to eating at home today but it may be ice cream and cookie dough for her:(

I am sorry on her heartbreak :grouphug: that is a very hard thing To go through ice cream does help

Well I completely changed my mind and I have pot roast in the crock pot. I have also made out my menu for the week.

Sunday- Spaghetti and homemade meatballs with garlic bread.
Monday- Chicken enchiladas
Tuesday- Meatball subs (from the leftover meatballs) and oven crinkle fries
Wednesday- Pepper steak stir fry
Thursday- Baked mac and cheese
Friday- Ham slices with glazed carrots and leftover mac and cheese

I am so proud of myself.....headed out to get a crocpot and some casserole dishes....was going to go to walmart but I spotted a Big Lots and decided to go in - never been there. they had ton of different crockpots but none with the warm option until I changed aisles and found one....had the guy get it off the top shelf and lo and behold the diplay as the only one left. get to the register and it rang up 28. and they knocked off $8!!!! yahoo!!

they headed to the grocery store....I came in under $100 - $97.58!!! and that include some beer/wine not on my list --- would have been around $75 if I had left that off. as dh tells me -we can be budget and not go completely without indulgences....I am just thrilled!!!

for meals:
chicken brushetta bake, salad (didn't get to make last week)
roast, carrots, potatos, salad
l/o roast, gravy over egg noodles
chicken lasagna
chicken tacos, mexican rice
chicken and dumplings
shrimp pasta

in random order

I know, we're clucking but boneless skinless breasts are 1.69lb.....gotta love that!!

awww......

being the mom of a teenage girl is an emotional adventure isn't it?

OK- we stayed on task until the weekend- which I figured. But that's OK- we were eating out at least 2 times during the week plus all weekend- so I feel good about it. This week we are having

Sunday-chicken breast tenderloins(frozen bag), broccoli, something else???
Monday- turkey chili
Tuesday-chicken caesar salads
Wednesday-homeade pizzas
Thursday-turkey meatloaf, sides???

great thread guys!!!! I say that we "EAT OUR MONEY" cause we go out way too much!

Do you have this problem? DH and DD-13 don't want traditional breakfast food so they want pizza or leftovers, well they will eat bagels. So this morning we don't have any leftovers and DH says let's go out for breakfast. I put down the gavel and no we have to find something to eat at home. I was so tempted to listen to him and go out but I don't want to go over my budget and I just new my Eat at Home friends would be proud:thumbsup2 It's noon here and they still haven't eaten because they don't want cereal or bagels:rotfl2:

We are saving up for our President's Day WDW trip so we are trying to eat at home as much as possible! Oldest DD turns 17 next week so we will take her out for her birthday but other than that we are cooking at home. :thumbsup2

Love reading through the thread - it is giving me some great ideas.

We went to the grocery stores yesterday to do a big shop before the ice storm heads this way.

Here is our meal plan for the week:

Hot pastrami sandwiches (actually had this last night - YUM!)
Shrimp skewers on the grill
BBQ chicken
Homemade Pizza
Philly Cheesesteaks (not the most healthy but a special request from DD12)
Salad & Baked Potatoes
Beef Stew

Not sure anyone eats left overs. Something we do about once a month is my DH will BBQ enough meat (hamburger, steak, chicken) you can grill some vegetables for side, or what ever you choose for about a week, including his lunch. During the week all I have do is make a vegetable and a side to go with the meat already cooked.

I think we are going to bake up some goodies today! tons of cake mixes and cookie ingredients....dh is closing tonight so I could really get away with leftovers for me and the girls. no eating out tonight - he took my car!!
