You make that sound so easy but it is usually so intimidating! I may have to try this.Honestly, I find Alfredo quick and easy - melt 2-4Tb of butter with some minced garlic (to taste) - once melted, add an equal amount of flour and let cook into a roux. Once you have a good roux, create the sauce with 1 part chicken broth (or veggie broth if vegetarian) - add 1st and stir the roux into the broth, so no lumps - and 2 parts milk (I use whole) - really, just eyeball it...and then add a handful of parm once you've got a creamy consistency, and then salt/pepper (hot pepper flake) and more cheese to taste. If it gets too thick, add more broth (or milk, but I tend to like it saltier vs creamier
. If it gets too thin, let it cook a little...
Alfredo can be done in the time it takes to boil the pasta water...and it's a good way to use up an open can of broth or milk about to expire...
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good brand of jarred alfredo sauce? I really like olive garden's so is there anything like that? I would make it myself but I am looking for something quick.

I make my Alfredo by melting one stick of salted butter, adding one sm container of heavy cream when melted, salt, garlic powder, nutmeg, and a little pepper. Let it thicken, add cheese. I usually use 1/4 tsp of all spices to start(not pepper) and increase as needed. Super easy!
