Eat at home 2!

It really is amazing how much you can save not eating out. Just cutting out lunches and 1 time out a week instead of many saves us at least $100.00 a week. That's $400.00 a month! $4800.00 a year! Hello WDW!

It's amazing isn't it? An entire trip in a year of cutting out those meals!!
And honestly.. I would say half the time we got take-out or went out to eat it was because we didn't feel like cooking. It was nothing special, and often something I could have made cheaper and better at home!

I'm new here but I remember seeing a receipe that called for mini mozzeralla balls, alfredo sauce and pasta sauce (maybe other ingredients, I don't recall) and I printed it out but now I cannot find it on the boards  and want to make it (I finally located the mozzeralla balls at our Dillons)

Can anyone help me find it or reprint it again so I can try it.

I'm pretty sure it was on this forum, but I can't remember

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:confused3

TIA!!!!!!!!!

The past couple days have been busy at work but we managed to eat at home with leftovers and frozen meals we had.

Tonight is london broil with hash browns, brussel sprouts, and watermelon

Tonight is going to be pizza. I have a free pizza earned from Papa John's and we have family coming into town tonight and have been cleaning all day. I just do NOT have the energy to cook! So, at least it will be cheap thanks to the promotion!

Work and maching band is in full swing here! That makes it harder to plan meals! Our oldest is coming home from college for the weekend, I love that she requested a famly favorite meal instead of going out!

Saturday- Homemade pizza, salad
Sunday- Steak, shrimp, potatoes, zuchini, mushrooms
Monday-Black bean quesadilla's, salad, pears
Tuesday- Ham, bean and corn chowder, cornbread
Wednesday-Grilled chicken, rice, corn on the cob
Thursday-Salmon, baked potatoes, salad
Friday-BLT's, chips, fresh fruit

I've been watching this thread for a while, and trying to cook at home more, so this has given me more motivation.
The main reason for us to get food out is pure laziness! I am the only one that cooks in my house and I get tired of making the same old things. We ate at home everyday this past week except once, school started this past week, and I am in the process of planning next week's meals.

Over the summer I started to cook 6+ meals of food at a time when I grilled. I would make pork or beef roasts, chicken, pork chops, boneless ribs on the grill. Then I would freeze them in a baggie of one meals worth. When we were busy I could put them in the oven with a little liquid and add some sides and it was a quick dinner. I am hoping to continue that all year. I am the person that will be out side at the bbq grill in the snow. Also I saw some great prepare and freeze recipes for the crock pot on pinterest I am planning to put together tomorrow.

I will post my week when I get home from the grocery store tomorrow.

Thanks again for getting me on track!

Tonight's is Lasagna Hamburger Helper with broccoli on the side. :)

Not sure about the rest of the week just yet. Going to be a tighter budget this week; We've had some unexpected expenses combined with shortened work hours (DBF and I both work retail at our local zoo and we've had a bad heat wave, so fewer visitors..fewer hours :/ ), so I want to try to eat home 6 nights and just do a carryout pizza 1 night.

Last night it was pizza from Wal-Mart. Not sure about tonight. Guess I will take a vote and see what the family feels like eating.

We had a large brunch of french toast bake, fruit, bacon, and sausage at 2pm since I am going out with coworkers for dinner. Mom will have some leftovers for dinner.

Tonight was elbow macaroni w/meat sauce and parmesan crusted chicken breast tenderloins (recipe from Hellmann's on AllRecipes.com).

Dinner was at my grandmothers house, since my mom and sisters have been out of town. Thought it would do her good to have guests (DBF & I) and dinner made for her. :)
