We are feeling so much better here so for dinner tonight we are having homemade roasted veggie pizza with salad.

Glad you are feeling better =)

I am thinking about begging mom to order pizza. I have a craving for it and I can actually swallow! Plus, I have not been hungry since this strep thing started so the fact I WANT a specific food is something I should take advantage of. Today I have had almond milk (which felt good on the throat), 6 chicken potstickers (my test on if I could eat them without crying in pain), and a small serving of pudding.

I say go for it. I know when I am sick and craving something that I go for it. It means I will be actually eating something.

Feel better soon.

I did! Thin crust cheese (didn't want toppings lol). It was good and just what I wanted I think. It wasn't too bad to eat as long as I took small bites and chewed really, really well.

Now hopefully that is a good sign and I will finally get a full nights sleep =/

Hi! Joining in for fun and to get some ideas.

Tonight: I made pizza - whole wheat grilled flatbread brushed with pesto, topped with tomatoes and feta cheese. Delicious!

Sat - we are ordering from a local deli. So bad, but sooo good.

Sunday - some form of pasta (it's Sunday!) and some treats while we watch the Oscars.

Monday - turkey burgers and I'll have sauteed spinach for a side and he'll have broccoli, fruit.

Tuesday - white bean/kale soup, sourdough bread, fruit.

Wednesday - turkey burgers again probably, or grilled chicken sandwiches, probably salad and roasted potatoes as a side, and fruit! (can you tell we eat a lot of fruit?)

Thursday - Tilapia seasoned with whatever I feel that day, tomato/onion salad for me, broccoli for him again!

Friday - slow roasted pulled pork sandwiches! Pork shoulder (bone in) put in roasting pan, cover with one jar hot giardiniera, one jar mild giardiniera, cook 225 for 6 hours or so (until bone falls out basically). Awesome!! Cole slaw as a side.

Thanks everyone!

We are changing our grocery shopping day this week to Sunday Monday is way to busy baby dr app girl scouts and dance class:scared1:

I'm down 24.2lbs and we have not eaten out in 11 days! :cool1:

The weeks are going by so fast. I am doing really good in school and have a A in my Medical Terminology Class:cool1: I just started another class which is a 6 week course "Spanish for Nursing." On those nights when I have class I try to have a meal my DH can make by himself lol or a crock pot meal that night.

Last night (known as Fish Fry Friday here in Milwaukee) I made baked Mahi Mahi with pineapple salsa. We loved it! Also there is a recipe for puff pastry wrapped salmon.

Glad you were able to enjoy your pizza. I hope things are getting better for you. Strep is no fun to deal with.

Tonight we are having bratwursts with roasted sweet potatoes and cucumber salad.

:surfweb: I have heard a lot about this thread.... I have seen and participated in similar ones, so whats another?? DH and I rarely eat out for an entire meal.... I cant remmeber the last time we all went out to eat or even just DH &I. We work really hard to save, save, save... for Disney or whatever. Then we we get on vacation, all gloves are off!! Thank Goodness for the DDP!

I am on a diet for our upcoming trip... lots of yogurt, salads, eggs and dry tuna & crackers for me the past/next few weeks. Below is what the DH and Kid ate ( last week was school vacation week)

Pizza
Burger's and fries
Beef burgundy and egg noodles
fish sticks and french fries
spinach bisque and ham sandwiches
pork roast, mashes potatoes and corn
BLTs and left over soup

Here is my meal plan this coming week:

1) American Chopped Suey (also known as Goulosh in certain areas) - Elbow moodles, spagetti sauce and Ground beef

2) Crock Pot chicken - roasters are on sale for 99 Cents so I will get a couple... one will be put in the crock pot for an easy night of crockpot chicken. Served with rice and veggies. Left overs will be turned into Chicken Soup later in the week

3) Chicken fingers and Tatertots with salad

4) Burritos with spanish rice

5) Chicken cordon blue - chicken breasts or patties, topped with shaved ham and swiss cheese. Side of pasta or rice and a veggie

6) Broccoli Alfredo - jar or mix made alfredo sauce, broccoli pieces (i buy a jumbo frozen bags and get 2 meals out of it) and Spaghetti. If check left over, will add some to it as well.

7) Chicken Soup or potpie - made from left overs... chicken, rice or potatoes, veggies....

Charming, can you tell me how you make your cucumber salad? Sounds yummy!

Tonight is shrimp fettucini & salad.

For the cucumber salad I thinly slice up a couple of cucumbers and a small onion. I then mix together some Greek Yogurt, a little sour cream, lemon juice, grated garlic (1 clove). Mix everything together and let it sit in the fridge for a few hours to come together. It is simple and easy.

Tonight we are having chicken and dumplings

Did a big food shop yesterday- had a great deal on Pork Loin- a HUGE one for $1.49 a pound. They sliced it into chops- enough for 3 meals for our family of 6, along with a big 3 pound pork roast. So there will be a bit of pork this week. We had chops last night with mushroom risotto.

Tonight is cheap meal night- Chicken and Broccoli with Ramen. (It's just saute up the chicken and broccoli with a little bit of soy and ginger- if you have it if not just leave it plain) then mix with Oriental ramen. The entire family eats this one. It's cheap too! Sadly though too high on the sodium for it to be in regular rotation. But once a month it's ok for us.

Here is my meal plan for this week:

Mon/27 Glazed Salmon with Broccoli Rice

Tue/28 (Class) Flatwrap Pizza

Wed/29 (Class) Eggs, Chicken Sausage, Fruit, and Toast

Thu/30 Orange Chicken, Rice, and Vegetables

Fri/2 Not Home

Sat/3 Pork Chops with Balsamic Peppers, Roasted Green Beans

Sun/4 Salad and Sandwich Night

Not feeling to well tonight  but we still went food shopping ( never again at wegmans on a Sunday :scared1: ) here is what I have

In no order

Spaghetti and sauce
Mac and cheese
Meatball subs
Chicken and rice
Chuck roast with mashed potatoe and carrots

Since the aby I can't eat what everyone else is eating so I have
Salad
Sir fry veggies and brown rice
Fruit

Down 24.2lbs and 12 days no eating out:cool1:

Since it was nearly 70* today (unheard of in Feb around here!) we decided to cook out. So what I had in the slow cooker is in the fridge and just needs to be heated up tomorrow night.
We ended up having KC strip steaks, asparagus, gourmet cheese cubes, and bread (cant for the life of me remember what type it was! lol I just grabbed it at the bakery because it looked good).

Need to get back into this thread. We haven't been eating out much, but I haven't been planning much either so dinner is a mystery until we run around trying to figure out what to make. I don't like that because we're tired after work.
Anyway.. here's the plan for the week..

Sunday: We had salad, broccoli cheese rice, and pork schnitzel

Monday: Spaghetti Pie and Salad

Tuesday: BBQ chicken, baked potatoes and asparagus.

Wednesday: Potato & carrot soup, crescent rolls, and broccoli

Thursday: Spaghetti and Meatballs, Garlic Bread, and Caesar Salad (repeat on the spaghetti tonight but we're having company after work and this is easy to prepare ahead of time)

Friday: Take out night. Probably pizza

Saturday: Breakfast for dinner (pancakes, sausage, eggs and smoothies)

Sunday: ???? I'll see what's on sale when I go shopping tomorrow.
