It sounds delicious! Is it hard to make?
actually it's pretty no fuss. i take half a large can of tomato puree, a large onion, 4-5 cloves of garlic, white wine, oregano, half a green pepper, and salt and pepper in a food processor and blend it all up.

I put that in a large pot with a a 1/4cup of olive oil and simmer it for 10-15 minutes to develop the flavor. Once it's darkened in color I add in a regular sized can of sweet peas (juice and all) and simmer for 10-15 minutes until it's just a bit thicker. Turn it down to a a very low simmer then add in 2lbs of peeled/deveined shrimp and about a pound of lobster tails (I cut it into chunks, shell and all and then put it in.) Cook through and then serve over white rice and tostones. it's a delicious meal!

Sounds delicioso! I am allergic to la langosta but I probably could make something similar with shrimp.
i don't normally eat any shellfish but I will eat this! The recipe is usually only made with shrimp but we wante dto make it extra special so we added lobster.

Thank you for the recipe! I have been wanting to try plantains. It does sound delicious. I'll try it some time. :)

I might make a large potato bar tonight. I have a lot of toppings and some large potatoes. I might make some chili to go over them. I think it would be fun.

What a creative idea ;) Thanks for the idea for our dinner tomorrow :thumbsup2

I made pasta bake and turkey burgers for tonight.

Tonight I am making a big pot of Zuppa Tuscano with italian sausage I got on sale for just $1 a lb! We are having a loaf of Roasted Garlic Crusty Bread to go with it.

Tonight we had aloha pigs with rice for supper. Very easy, quick, cheap, and good! Here is the reciepe:
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup water
1 package wieners, cut into eighths
1 green pepper cut in 1/2 inch squares
1 can (8 oz.) pineapple chunks, undrained
Just combine everything together in a 2 qt. baking dish--stir well. Cover with plastic wrap. Microwave on high for around 8 minutes. Stir half way through cooking. Serve with rice, if desired.
You could probably substitute 1 pound of cooked chicken for the wieners, if desired. The flavors in this were fantastic. I think next time I'll thicken it a bit with some cornstarch.
Enjoy!:)

I read your title and thought, "well that's a weird way to greet the posters on this thread." :rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

Sounds like a fun recipe. Thanks for sharing!

Oops! Sorry about that! I just now read my own title from another's perspective! I should have titled it" Recipe for Aloha Pigs". :):)

Last night we had roasted chicken with rice pilaf and carrots.

Tonight we are having homemade baked macaroni and cheese with cucumber salad and fruit.

Yesterday was supposed to be ham and bean soup but I brought that to the kids' school (I do noon hour supervision there and sometimes bring in lunch for the teachers) and we went to Swiss Chalet for dinner last night.

Tonight's dinner is meatballs and mashed potatoes and a garden salad. The kids will be having their leftovers from last night's dinner since they don't like meatballs in beef gravy.

Happy new year to everyone! pixiedust: I am a little behind on reading this thread well ok a lot behind but i am allowing myself computer time every day from now on. ever since my littlest was born last february i have slipped from a little me time. So back on track we go!

This week so far we had
monday- this really great chicken. I bought chicken tenders and marinated them with soy sauce, garlic, ginger, salt and pepper, olive oil. them i made a box of ziti and pour a can of crushed tomatoes i seasoned them with Italian seasoning and cooked the chicken added peppers and onions and put it all together and baked and it was yummy! my dh was worried about asian flavored chicken in a italian dish but was soooo good!oh i also took sliced bread and pour olive oil and broiled it and when it came out i rubbed a garlic clove on it.:)
tuesday- hot dogs and salad
wednesday- meat ball subs
Thursday- whole chicken with rice and a veggie
friday-?
saturday-?
Sunday- we have basketball and then going over to a friends house to watch the pats playoff with lots of yummy play off food!

feels good to be back! Did any of you make a new years resolution to eat at home more? I'd love to year them if you did.

Tonight we're having ham steak, mac and cheese, and green beans.

Friday night, we'll have chicken and pesto flat bread.

I have turkey vegetable soup simmering in the crockpot. We will have crackers and cheese with it.

Slightly OT, but have another thread on the topic of crockpots. Those of you who use them a lot, which brand/model do you have? I have the Crock Pot brand that's burning my food! Need to shop for a new one and would love suggestions. I've gotten some good suggestions from my other thread, but thought I'd post here too. Thanks!

Meals so far:
Sunday - breaded chicken cutlet w/garlic cream sauce and pasta
Monday - breakfast for dinner
Tuesday - beef stew in crock (burned!)
Wednesday - homemade crabcakes, homemade mac and cheese, spinach and arugula salad, brownies in crock (Burned!)
Thursday - london broil, baked potato, salad
Friday - ?
Saturday - out

For crock pots, I don't think mine is any specific kind. I just make sure to use PAM or those new crock pot liners. Also make sure to add a half cup of water at least to the crock pot so your stuff doesn't burn.

I made crock pot sloppy joes last night. Tonight I am making this lowland shrimp and rice.

I will post both of those recipes on my blog when I get a minute:)

Tonight I am making a big pot of Zuppa Tuscano with italian sausage I got on sale for just $1 a lb! We are having a loaf of Roasted Garlic Crusty Bread to go with it.

Sounds yummy. Zuppa Tuscano is my DFIL's favorite soup. Would you be willing to share the recipe.

Sunday - Hamburgers/Hot dogs on grill with baked beans and chips
