I would like to hear your opinions between the two. When looking at the two of them they have differing opinions as to which park is best and which one is worse.

Here's an example:

June 3 2014 Touring plans lists Epcot as best park and Easy WDW lists Epcot as the worst park to visit.

June 4 2014 Touring plans lists MK as the worst park and Easy WDW lists MK as the best park.

I will be using Easy WDW (for the first time) for my upcoming trip starting on November 29th, but I have to have my plans completed and my ADR's set for Junes trip because I will be in WDW this upcoming week when my 180 window opens up for June and will do my ADR's while there.

I know this has been asked before here on the DIS, but I'm counting on my DIS friends to help me out on this one. My first three trips to WDW were always booked and planned by my TA, and they worked well. This upcoming trip later this week is the first I have booked myself and planned from beginnng to end using Easy WDW. Just looking for opinions for our next soon coming trip, also without a TA and planned by me. :goodvibes

I have read on here that everyone prefers easywdw for choosing when to go where. I'm going to try it for my next trip. If you do a search you'll see what I mean.

Edit x 4: Ignore everything I wrote. Got myself hopelessly turned around. :)

Yes, the June 2014 calendar is up. You can see it on the main EasyWDW page just a little ways down. But the final one with the descriptions of why he chooses which park which days isn't yet.

Ah, so he just hasn't updated the sidebar yet!

Personally, I'd wait to read his explanations before deciding on which park to choose. I'm sure he'll have it written up soon.

This is simple: EasyWDW.

I have never liked DIS crowd calendars. I am not sure how they come to their conclusions and I am sure for many days they are pretty decent. However, there are some days that they get really wrong. Many more than Josh does at EasyWDW.

Josh will occasionally have a blog post where he goes somewhere and clearly demonstrates that it is crazy busy and as an aside, he will state that TP had this as most recommended park. Now, TP just got rid of recommended park (probably because it was inaccurate) and they just put crowd levels rounded to the nearest whole number (no tenths). So if you want an explanation as to why a certain park was recommended, do EasyWDW. Also, Josh will at times explain crowd ebbs and flows throughout a day.

No comparison in my opinion.

We followed Easy WDW last week and had success with it. Monday was PM EMH at MK with one of the few days during the week they were showing Wishes and MSEP, so it was the worst park according to Easy WDW. We knew that but went anyway because we wanted to see MSEP and it was definitely very busy. Tuesday was AK for best park because the day prior and the day after both had AM EMH for AK, so its assumed most people will go when there are EMH to take advantage of that. AK was virtually empty while we were there, and we rode EE four times in a row in the afternoon with no wait and no need for FP+. After seeing scenarios like this, we put a little more stock into the best and worst park predictions.

His post from Friday is actually the opposite. He toured HS using the tiered FP+ and in all the pictures (well, except for the ones where he's waiting for the park to open ;)) you can see how light the crowds are. Near the end of the article he says that TP has HS as their busiest park, while he had it as most recommended.

Right, either way... whether TP has this as most recommended and it ends up very buys or the opposite where TP has this as park to avoid and it ends up light.

Point is... Josh tends to be more accurate.

I used EasyWDW for my last trip and it was amazing. We followed his advice and had an amazing trip. Walked onto almost everything and needed very few fast passes (let me note this was before magic bands and FP+) In my opinion I would go with josh's recommendations.

I think that's Texhanddoc's point...he is proving that TP has it incorrect whether they predict light or heavy crowds.

easyWDW, hands down. I've always had great success with his site.

Oh yeah, and it's free!!

We used Easy WDW for daily park choices on our only previous trip, but we used tips from the Unofficial Guide when determining the order of attractions. I thought both were very helpful. We are currently planning our second trip to WDW, which will be this June. I've been looking at both TP and EasyWDW and have noticed some discrepancies in the recommended parks too. But I'm wondering, with it being 6 months away, if there is a chance that the recommended parks will change. Are all the EMH dates/parks set in stone at this point? That seems to be the biggest factor in determining the most and least recommended parks. Since we're staying off site and can't take advantage of EMH, I'd rather avoid the parks that are affected by EMH each day if possible.

I've used both and rarely notice a difference, when they do disagree I usually go with the park that fits our schedule best and disregard what they predict. TP shines with their lines app -we've had great luck with that, and it's fun being able to input data to update the times.

We tend to use TP only because we've been using the unofficial guide since our first family trip in 2002 :) We have had good luck with it. This time, I checked both. I had to take some parks that were not recommended because of our trip dates, but mostly on days that are low crowd estimates anyway.

If I want a misanthropic and alcohol-fueled romp through the parks, I use easyWDW.

If I want to plan a pleasant day enjoying myself, I use touringplans.

A couple years ago I compared Easy to Touring Plans, and found Easy was more accurate, as far as which parks to do on what days go. Totally unscientific comparison, but all I know is that when we ignored the advice of Easy when it conflicted with the advise of Touring Plans, we regretted it.

Easy is more accurate and free. For me the only reason to pay for Touring Plans is if you want an actual touring plan.

Interesting! I clearly have missed something on EasyWDW. :lmao:

Well, apparently a guide to touring the parks can only be useful if it's written by someone who has rose-colored glasses on when it comes to Disney. ;)
