I'm hoping to go to the World 1/2-1/9...just remind me.... it's best to book now & wait for discounts later, right? I'm sure they'll be some for this slow time of the year, right?? RIGHT??

I would book now and then apply the discount when it becomes available. Make sure you can live with the cost in case a discount code doesn't come out!

But book "room only" through CRO and not a package through WDTC. The change/cancellation policies are MUCH different.

Cheshire, RIGHT, I remember that! (now that you mention it!).....soooo....how exactly can I assure booking thru CRO?

Thanks again

Book what you can afford now WITHOUT a discount. Then when / if discounts come out change your reservation. Having a reservation does not and will not increase your likelihood of getting a discounted room since discounts are based on availability of rooms at the time the discount is offered.

Meaning that in effect by holding a reservation you are decreasing the liklihood of their being a discount at that resort.

disneychrista is absolutley correct. People do decrease the availability of discounts at a resort by booking at rack rate. I too believe you should book what you're willing to pay and if a discount comes out, great, or if you get a better room, even greater. Jan. is slow time and the possibility of discounts is good, but will you be gone before they are released? Since you're leaving on Jan. 2?

I would like to go to in January 2-11, wouldn't discounted room rates come out in December.

We went in Easter vacation 03, and at the last minute my husband decided to go. When I called 2 weeks before departure date, I called AsSports and I got an upgrade for the same amount to Coronado or PORiverside. He went with Riverside and loved it.

Not to worry, discounted room rates will come out in Dec. or earier for Jan.

I believe AAA discounts are already out if you have a AAA card.

I am waiting to book at Pop Century for DD's vacaiton Jan 9-16. Hoping to pay $49. rate.

UGH!!! What to do?? Ok, I think I WILL book from 1/2 to say 1/8 for now and see what happens (I've been dying to try out PopCentury!) Cause in the end, yes, I will be able to live with the rate (I can only afford the Value resorts there - as I am a shopping QUEEN when on vacay!)

Has anyone ever gotten that $49 rate for Jan.? Postcard or what??
