:cheer2: Hi,
We are in the process of booking a trip for Jan. 2006. We have rooms reserved on Jan 7th Eastern cruise and Jan 14th Western cruise. I have to make a decision fast, does anyone have any suggestions on which cruise is better or does it even make a difference? We will tend to do things as a group rather than on our own. It will be myself, my husband, my (at that time) 3 and 7 year old and my 84 year old father.
Thanks,
Sandie

beased upon your family situation, i would personally prefer the eastern route based solely on the fact that Key West is not really an ideal stop for young kids in my opinion based on the content found on Duval and most of the stores being Bars (my kids are relatively the same age as yours), and Key West does involved a decent amount of walking (depending what your Dad likes) on Duval Street if you choose not to take the trolley ride all day.

I would choose the Beachs of the Eastern route

I vote for the eastern. St Thomas is beautiful and St Maarten is not bad either.

I have been torn all day because my DH and one son were disappointed that I switched our original booking for the western back to the same week this year same route. I personally love that extra day at sea. I think those were my favorite part of the cruise besides Palo's brunch and the Doubloon Sail and snorkle in St. Thomas.

I vote for the Eastern too. We have been on both once and just switched our 12/17 Western to the 12/10 Eastern. Personally, I prefer the ports and the extra day at sea. :)

Eastern here too kids are a little bit older, and love the beaches on the eastern much better than on the western, and I love the extra sea day. Feels like a longer trip to me. To each his own, depends what you like to do..

it's nice to have the options...but for some people, like us!, it all depends on our vacation days! whenever we're off, that's the itinenary (sp.?) we did western, with DH, DSs 4 & 2 at the time. we all had a great time! it was a blast!! i'm sure you'd have a wonderful time with your family, whichever cruise you choose! good luck with your decisions! :flower:
