I've read conflicting reports on the new Eastern Gateway bridge over Harbor. When it's done, will pedestrians no longer be able to cross Harbor blvd near Best Western/Park Vue motels?
That is the impression I got. The security will be where you cross the bridge, instead of where it is now, so there will be no way to enter on that side except for the bridge. Please correct if you know differently
To be clear, the businesses are asking for ways for people to get on the bridge without having to go out of the way to do so. Original plans had pedestrians having to go all the way around to where the pumbaa lot is now.
I think one way to access will be in the back of the mcdonalds.
In all cases, you will most likely still have to get through the security in the new area, since the current security areas will be removed.
The entrance and exit will be at the new Security Plaza, which is off Manchester, so you will need to use the bridge to cross Harbor where the current crosswalk is. You could walk to Manchester, and cross the street next to Mimi's Cafe on Harbor as a substitute.
