Eastern Caribbean or Western Caribbean?

We enjoyed our Western Caribbean on the Magic last March and would do it again. That being said, I'm really hoping to get a Eastern Caribbean booked for next year because I want to visit those island and enjoy the extra day at sea that the itinerary offers.
We did the western last March on the Magic as well!!

We prefer the Eastern and the unscientific feel on these boards over the last 13 years seems to tip the scales among DIS members to the Eastern. And Westerns still are cheaper than Easterns on Disney by a whole $50 now. It was about $200 cheaper when we last cruised.
I know my travel agent says Eastern cruises on any cruise line always seem to be a bit more popular than Westerns.
For us, it was the extra sea day and the desire to do a Caribbean, not a Mexican cruise.

Why is it a lot of people don't seem to get off at Jamaica

A great thing about the board is that you'll find lots of very different opinions. My family _loved_ Jamaica to the extent that we deliberately picked the last Fantasy cruise that stopped there last year (Fantasy has not docked at Falmouth since November). It's such a beautiful island with an interesting culture and our excursion to Dolphin Cove and Dunn's River Falls ranks #1 among the 13 DCL port adventures, we've done to date. Just being in the rain forest is a neat experience in itself. It's not that my family is particularly adventurous: we actually prefer staying in beautiful resorts during our vacations. When we discussed Jamaica, however, there was a strong consensus that it would be a shame spending the day at the beach and missing out on seeing a little bit of the island. I know that many other people hate driving through dirty, poor neighborhoods and/or just want to get to a nice beach quickly. That's perfectly fine, too, and I can understand why they would prefer Grand Cayman. Personally, I wouldn't go back to Nassau for the same reasons that I suspect led them not to like Falmouth, but I know that many people would disagree strongly about that, too.

Alright I thought mybe it was because of safety issues. As I no a lot of people who go to Jamaica, that they are told not to come out of there resort

At first, we were leaning towards the Eastern Caribbean, but now I think we are leaning towards the Western Caribbean. The WC only has 2 at sea days on a 7 night cruise and we like that we get to stop at a lot of different places. :moped:
