Eastern Caribbean Fantasy Oct. 5, 2013

Tink,
even though St Martin/St Marteen is half French and half Dutch you won't need any Euros. They accept Dollars everywhere, so there's no need to change any money.
Anja & I will probably take some Euros with us, but only for the case that it would be cheaper to pay in Euros - which I highly doubt.

Our new neighbours in the B'n'B must be from the Lone Star State - at least their tag says so. So perhaps we'll have an opportunity to get used to the accent :lmao:

Today we didn't run at the beach, but did an hour of BodyPump and then another hour of BodyStep in the evening. I guess tomorrow we'll be kinda sore, but as we like to say 'Pain is weakness leaving the body' pirate:
We're presently pondering the possiblity to make tomorrow's morning run a powerwalk - we'll see ;)

Eric,
You had me stumped for a second about the changing money :scratchin
Then I remembered the portion of my previous post about placing all of the requested info in one location had a section I copied from ozdisneyfan's last post. She had mentioned something about waiting to hear back from Bernard about the currency we would need to use.
Hopefully, she will get a chance to read your post. I am sure she will appreciate that you were able to answer that for her.

As for the accent, you won't have to worry to much about that unless you catch me when I am a little on the tired side. That is the only time it is noticeable.

As for pain, you and our youngest will be in the same boat (pun intended).
He took a helmet to the elbow today at practice, and has a hematoma from about 2 inches below the elbow to about 2 inches above. So, he will have a massive bruise and be quite soar for a few days.

Wine Meet:

1st Sea Day (Oct. 6th) at 2PM Room 6180 room # subject to change*

Crazy Plane Beach

St. Marteen - Oct. 8th - Pick up time is 9 AM return time is 4 PM for most, and earlier for the few that have requested it. So as to make sure everyone is all together for debarkation, we have talked about a meeting place on the boat at around 8 AM. I suggested the Vista Cafe on Deck 4 across from Shutters.
Cost is $35 / per person (I do not believe this is still open - Lea would have final say). Lea also posted that if she has any more updates, she will let us know.
A phone tree is in place, and if the need arises, everyone in the group will get a call about any changes.

Here is the most recent post from Lea (some of this will be a repeat from what I just wrote):
This is the confirmation from Bernard:

Thank you for choosing Bernard's Tours Your reservation is {CONFIRMED } for our {PRIVATE CUSTOMIZED TOUR } we will be meeting you at {9:00 AM } RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE YELLOW BUILDING} at the {INFORMATION CENTER } next to the CLAUDE WATHEY STATUE{PLEASE WALK UP TO THE {INFORMATION CENTER} { ONCE AT THE INFORMATION CENTER PLEASE ASK FOR {BERNARD} We are located about { IT IS A THREE MINUTES WALK ON THE PIER FROM THE SHIP TO THE INFORMATION CENTER}

{PRIVATE CUSTOMIZED TOUR $35.00 PER PERSON) {DEPOSIT $50.00 ALREADY PAID }

{BALANCE DUE UPON ARRIVAL } We accept payment by Cash Master Card, American Express, Visa and Discovery Credit Card..

I have told him about our numbers

up to 41 people going to Orient, Maho and then Marigot
up to 15 people going to Gailon, Maho then back to port.

I have also told him that some people will want to swap at Maho and go back to port rather than go to Marigot.

I am waiting to hear back from him regarding how much cash we will need on the day to cover beach admissions and chair rentals etc, as well as currency required.

As we need to meet at the statue at the information centre at 9am, may I suggest we meet from 8am at a lounge (as I have not been on the Fantasy before, I have no preference of a good place - suggestions needed) with a view of walking off the ship at 8:30? Not sure what time we are due to dock however....

If people miss the lounge meetup, as long as they meet at the statue by say 8:50, I think that would be ok.

I will have a list of people (by their disname), which I will check off to ensure we don't miss anyone.

Hi Everyone!

Can someone please do me a favor and log into disboards and inform the crazy plane group our cabin number is 7104 and I have seen the info regarding the excursion. I can't remember my name on there but its Sim or Simone something. Hope someone can help. Thanks

Hope you can help her.. thanks

Fortunately we don't have any injuries, but just sore muscle tissue due to tough exercising. So I guess our pain is not as bad as your son's. So far it's just a great feeling of knowing that we really did a great workout. The first hour was weight-lifting with a lot of reps, the second was an high power step-class, letting the pulse never fall below about 130 and pushing it into the range of 180 or more several times. As these means going into the anaerobic range, not giving the muscle sufficient oxygen, it results in a certain soreness.
You wanna get your DS an ointment containing heparine, which will help healing the bruise considerably quicker.
For us some moderate training will definitely be sufficient to reduce the soreness. Tomorrow we intend to do another hour of BodyPump, followed by an hour of our favourite class: Zumba :cool1::dance3::cool1:

Looks like we all get to try it, after all!!!! :cool1:

Lea,
I do not know for certain on the numbers, but when I asked for cabin numbers. 2 crazygoogoofies replied. So, I do know they are still planning on attending.
And Viking said timewiltell was dining with him. He may be able to get you a accurate number on that cabin.

Thanks for the info about the Navigator-App. I just instaled it on my iPhone and am looking forward to use it on the ship :thumbsup2

We spent a lazy day at the beach, just tanning, reading and listening to music. And we let our kite fly. There's a constant strong wind blowing that makes it very easy.

In a few minutes we'll drive south to The Avenues, a mall in Jacksonville.

We are a bit unsettled about the political situation ovwr here. If it it really comes to a full government shutdown in case your politicians don't find a solution by 10/17, air traffic control will be affected and that could leave us stranded here in the US :sad2:
Our return flight is scheduled for 10/19.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Tink,
the folks with the Texas-tags will dedinitely have a strong accent: Our landlord told us that they're from Berlin, Germany :rotfl2:
The car is a rental.
