Welcome to our group BigRed1
:welcome::welcome::welcome::welcome:
It looks as if you may already be acquainted with some of the members of our group (the Cruisetoberfest group).
So, hopefully, they have given you a heads up about some of the on goings already.
To help get you up to speed, I am going to send you an invite to our group page. This is where you will get signed up for the group party on embarkation day, and get caught up on all of our activities.

I look forward to getting to know you.

Thanks! I figured there might be a Cruisetoberfest Group here when I saw Viking. Lost all of my contact info in a computer crash a while back, so I haven't talked to them in a while. It will be good to see them and to meet everyone else on the board. This cruise was completely unplanned, hadn't even considered a cruise this year since I have been unemployed for about 18 months. But my BIL TA called this afternoon with a VGT rate we couldn't pass up, so we jumped on it. Great timing as I will be going back to work full time soon after we get back!! We usually do FE's but since this is such short notice and the main list is closed, we will skip it this time. Won't know what stateroom we have until we board most likely anyway. Look forward to meeting everyone!
Allen, aka the :tiptoe:pirate: (The Sneaky Pirate) :teeth:

Great to have you on board, Allen

We just boarded our flight. I won the lottery before it and had the pleasure of an extended security check :scared1: It took so long, that we only had to wait for about two mintes before being allowed to board the aircraft.

Going off the air now, because we're going into the air in a few minutes :rotfl:

Welcome aboard Allen good to be cruising with you again.

Hey Mike! It will be good to see you again. Any other Cruisetoberfest III folks here?

There are Viking, Anja, Kevin, Deb, Dave, Ellen, Cathy and Art, Jean andSam, Me and Kathy.

Does any one know if it is possible to put a spending cap on the account while on board? Once that spending cap is reached charging privileges are suspended. That would be a cool feature to prevent going over budget but I don't know if it's available.
Anybody? Anybody? Bueller?

Interesting question. I know that we have to put a credit card on the account, but I don't know if it's possible to set a spending cap. My gut feeling is probably not. You can check your balance anytime on your stateroom TV, if that helps. :confused3

Just go to customer service once onboard and they can put a limit on your kttw card. Be sure to set a limit on the kids kttw card so they do not bankrupt you in the arcade.

You can also just run a cash account while on onboard, go to the service desk and put down a set cash deposit. Using your kttw card once your limit is reached, you have to go put more cash on the account to continue using your kttw card or you can just go down once a day or every several days and just pay the balance on your account off.

That is great news for Bajamama! Thanks! :)

That's great info TexasLady as it means that the islands won't be crowded with so few ships in port.
Additionally there's a good chance that we'll be the only ship on St T and St M as Carnival ships have a tendency to just make it into the news, but not into port :rotfl2:

THE CHEESE HAS ARRIVED SUCCESSFULLY IN FLORIDA :cool1:
As a side-effect we also made it sound and safe to the States. We broke a record coming in as first we landed an hour early, then passed immigration with no waiting time at all, had our bags within a few minutes, passed customs with no wait, and then kind of flew through security.
Then we had to kill four hours in Atlanta. We explored the airport a bit, had a late lunch at The Varsity, enjoying their traditional 'What'll Ya have?' -greeting.
We had a chili dog each and shared some fries. YumYum.
After another pleasant flight -just a 45minute hop- we arrived in JAX, where our suitcases were among the first to appear on the belt.
A short wait at Alamo's desk - and then I spent 30 minutes kicking butt :crazy2:
Even though we made a reservation for a convertible in March for 9/28 and submitted our flightnumber and ETA the greeted me with the words 'I got a nice Buick LaCross' for you. OK, I'm gonna be 50 next week, but that doesn't mean I would drive a Buick :rotfl2:
I told him that I would like to have a Mustang ans he started looking for one. He then came up with a Camaro and I said 'Ok, as long as it is a convertible.' That's what he looked like: :faint:
Now the fun started:
Agent1: We don't have a convertible.
Agent2: Your reservation was for 10am and the car is gone.
Station manager: Chrysler recalled all Sebring Convertibles.

Upon my remark to the manager that either at least one of them is not telling the truth or that she obviously doesn't have proper control of her business she started stammering incoherently. So in the end we left the airport a Camaro coupé with their promise to have a convertible for us not later than by 3pm Friday. We may even have one delivered by a tow truck today.
I also insisted on having the first tank of gas for free and she then even accompanied us to our car herself and while we loaded our stuff and programmed our GPS she walked all the way to the exit to check us out.
I jokingly told her that if we didn't get a convertible on Monday I would ask her for directions to the nearest Home Depot. She asked 'Why, Sir?'
I told her that I would buy a saw there and make the Camaro a convertible :rotfl:

Our Bed and Breakfast is absolutely great - at least the bed-part. I'll report about the breakfast part later.

We intend to do a morning-run at sunrise on the beach. Usually we do 5miles on Sunday mornings before breakfast, but we have to see how the sand is. 5miles usually take us 45 to 50 minutes in our park in Frankfurt, but if the sand is soft the running will get considerably more straining and so we'll either reduce speed or distance - we'll see.

Glad to hear your that your trip went smooth and you arrived safe.
Good luck with your car and hope you have a fun week.
