Eastern Caribbean Fantasy Oct. 5, 2013

I will agree, the Denver air was VERY DRY !!!!! and thin.
Unlike you, I was over joyed to be back to the humidity of Texas.
The longer I stayed in Colorado, the more painful my sinuses became. The lack of moisture is not good for someone who needs it.

I was like a tree frog :jumping2:out of the Rain Forest. ::yes::

The best part of the trip was the river rafting. I landed the best seat possible. The front !!! I got every single soaking that came over the bow.

~Tink~

I hear you: We did some rafting in Moab, UT a couple of years ago and had a whale of a time.

I always thought Texas was extremely dry, too - or do you live in a coastal area?

I have finally got all all FEer's emails merged into my email account, and set up into their own folder. :surfweb:

**well almost all...I did not have an email for Crews or Hng1979....I will do my best to get the lists to you. If you do not receive them, please send me an email***:confused3

:cool1:So, I am now ready to start sending out the lists.

You will receive the list for the group that you are in. Plus if you indicated that you either made special kid gifts, or were considering it, I will send you the kid / girl scout list as well (these will be in separate email messages).

And if you said you wanted to be in both groups, I will send you both lists (there will be some duplicates on the 2 lists as 3 cabins wanted to be included on both groups). If you only get one list, but are in the giving spirit :flower3:, I can send you out the second list. All you have to do is ask :listen:

If you are one of the cabins that have a +1, +2, etc, I will send the list to the main email I have and ask that you please forward the list out to your family and friends that you add as the +1, +2 etc.

Once you have your list, you can go to the group page and look through the 3 different FE forms to gather what ever information you need about your fellow sub-group members :grouphug:.

The only areas of Texas that I would consider extremely dry are the Panhandle, and far West Texas. Those images of cactus, sand, and tumble weed are Hollywood's version of Texas. We are more like Nabu where I live than Tatooine. :darth:

Texas is blessed with just about every climate region except Tundra (I could not handle it that cold any how) and rain forest.

Here in Central Texas we are close enough to the hill country to get season changes, while still getting the 95 to 100% humidity of the Gulf Coast region. So, when it is warm, it is also humid. And on the flip side, when it is cold (which is not to often...one blizzard every 10 years or so), it is a wet cold. But the months in between are a perfect mid range temperature with moderate humidity.

If I can not live at Disney, this is the closest thing to paradise for me ::yes:::beach:

Do you know the address that we would ship to????

From the "DIS DCL FAQ - New Alphabetical Listing of DCL Information" sticky on the main cruise board: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2068966

" ONE box per stateroom, no exceptions.
" The package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.
" The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.
" NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. Items that cannot be shipped to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse and delivered to the ship include: food products (any and all food products including baby food/formula), beverages (liquor, water, etc.), chemicals, and luggage. These items will not be accepted at the warehouse and will be returned. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.
" The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 lbs. (This has been asked personally by Dave Adams who is the owner)

Address your package(s) to:
Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
Guest Name / Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what it is when you send the package)
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, FL 32832
Phone: 407-566-8196

In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information: ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING
*Name
*Sail Date
*Ship
*Stateroom Number
*Packing slip that details contents of the package (for prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient)
" Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 7-Night Cruise on the Disney Dream (Saturday).
" Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 4-Night Cruise on the Disney Dream (Sunday).
" Packages must arrive by Wednesday by 3:00pm for the 3-Night Cruise on the Disney Dream (Thursday).

If your box is hit on by the screening dog or chosen for additional screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back up and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding. These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail among other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.

We just had(if you consider Sunday Morning, JUST....been to busy to post until now), our July monthly Planning Party.

This month was the Mustard Drill (yes Mustard....not Muster).

Taking advantage of perfect summer B-B-Q weather, we planned our party around hot dogs and Mustard. Since we will start packing for our party next month, we needed to do anything else left to do with clothes this month.

The idea of the Mustard drill was to figure out how long each person was going to need to get ready for dinner each night. We are not used to sharing 1 bathroom / shower amongst the 4 of us. And we don't want to be late for dinner. So, leading up to the party, we timed each of our showers (with and with out washing of hair), and I timed how long it took to dry and curl my hair, plus how long it took for the rest of my beautification practices. Then during the party, we pretended that we were the sloppiest eaters ever (well 3 of us had to pretend, the other is a natural). Sloppy eating (which just for those laundry fanatics out there....we did not spill any mustard on our clothes, we just pretended) means lots of outfit changing.
Each of us tried on one dinner outfit at a time. Timing how long it took to get ready to walk out of the door. This actually became more like a race and everyone had to be reminded that we need to get dressed in the same manner as we would on the boat.
Which led to a little rough housing as well. Keep in mind my family is made up of 2 teenage boys and a dad who thinks he is a big kid. Plus little me who would not stand a chance at halting any rough housing that got out of hand. So, when I gave the reminder that we need to get dressed as if we were on the boat, our 17 year old took it upon himself to become the waves that rock the boat. Needless to say, my hubby found it more difficult to get dress on the high seas in our home, than he did on our last cruise.
So, what was the point you ask????
With our times all written down, now we know how long each person needs each night to get ready. We also know who needs to be in the shower first, second, third, and fourth.
With this info, we can tell the boys when they can hang out with their friends until. And what is the latest they can be back to the room to start getting ready for dinner.
We have been late to our fair share of on board dinners, and I do not want to be late to Animators this cruise. SO......we are prepared!

*****No hotdogs or mustard bottles were harmed in the undertaking******
:lmao:********of this party********:rotfl2:

---------The same can not be said for boys------------

Thanks for that intersting info, Tink.
Sooner or later we'll check that out. Our Long-term goal is to visit all 50 states. Texas is the only state on the southern edge of the USA we haven't visited yet.

Hey everyone this posting is long overdue but we are on the oct 5th sailing and counting down the days!! Is there any way we would still be able to get involved in the FE still i see that it's already been closed??

Yesterday I received my credit card statement with the full payment of the cruise on it. My credit card bill is automatically deducted in full each month as I don't like paying interest.
Today I received a letter from the Finanzamt (German equivalent to the IRS) stating our tax return. As I had calculated about two months ago it nearly exactly covers aforementioned cruise-payment
I love it when the government pays for our vacations :rotfl2:

DreamsComeTrue....
First let me start with an official welcome
:welcome::welcome::welcome::welcome:
Welcome to our group...We are excited to have you. I will send you an invite to our group page shortly.

As for the FE, I am sorry, but in all fairness, I can not add anyone else. If I make an exception, the next person will want me to do the same thing. That will make it hard for the people who are already in the process of preparing their gifts.

I will say though, if anyone is willing to personally take on others as they request, feel free to speak up. You can exchange cabin numbers with anyone who comes on after this point.
I however am not planning on adding new comers to the list beyond this, so as to allow those who are already rolling on gift making to not feel stressed about 'how many more do I have to make?'....and 'when is she going to say enough?'

I am not trying to be mean. I am just trying to be considerate for those who voted on a date to cut off sign up.

There are several other perks to being in the group. We have group meets, info sharing, and the possiblility of a Secret Mickey is still on the table.

Again, I am sorry about the FE.

~Tink~

The governments return of OUR money annually :lmao: is our vacation budget as well.

It would be nice if that would cover our vacation budget, but as the cruise accounts for just about 30% of this vacation, there's still more to pay for us ;)
Nevertheless it's always nice to get something extra. Most probably I'll receive the annual bonus from my health insurance later this month and this will pay for a couple of extras on the ship :thumbsup2

Even though I'm not participating in the FE due to lack of space in our luggage I'm totally with you: A deadline is a deadline - Period.

If you are signed up for DCL updates, you can expect to receive the email below regarding the special Halloween sailings. If you're not signed up for updates, happy reading! :)

Thank you for choosing a Disney Cruise Line vacation. We look forward to sailing with you and want to take this opportunity to share with you some important information as you prepare to pack for your vacation. You'll want to make room for your costume, because this year we've extended our Halloween offerings to include activities on your sailing.

We'll be celebrating Halloween on our ships this year with several themed events, including a costume contest for our adult Guests and a special costume parade for children on the sail dates listed below:

October 26

Disney Wonder
September 28

Though not required, we encourage Guests of all ages to bring along their costumes and join in our special Halloween celebration. Prizes will be awarded to our adult costume contest participants based on the following categories:

Best Group

More information on themed nights, times and locations will be available onboard in the Personal Navigator that will be delivered to your stateroom.

Please remember that while all Guests are invited to wear costumes, we ask that you choose costumes that are not obstructive or offensive. To avoid any disappointment or delay in the boarding process, we ask that when considering costume options you refrain from bringing toys or props that resemble guns, knives or other related implements, as these items will not be allowed onboard.

Again, we look forward to sailing with you and hope you have a magical cruise.

Sincerely,

The Cast and Crew
Disney Cruise Line

Notice that the Dream wasn't listed above because they are going to have extra Halloween festivities on their sailings. At least we're getting some of the extra fun! pirate:
