As a veteran of five cruises I can tell you, that after a certain time it is impossible to organize it through one thread. The maximum number of people from the DIS we united for a cruise was nearly 200. That's not 200 DISers, but about 60 or 70 couples and families.
When it comes to organizing group activities, coordinating shore excursion, find people of similar interests, etc. it gets really complicated.
So we simply started our own board then, with about 20 or 30 sub-forums, including one for the kids. I guess it would be possible to use that one for our cruise as the few remaining active members on that board will all be cruising with us anyway.
We'd be completely free to create sub-forums to our liking, I could assign moderator rights to some of you, the kids could even have their own mods, etc.

Just let me know what you think.

Happy Birthday Tigger B.
Pixie I loved your Star Wars pictures from your monthly cruise planning party.

Monami7 -
If you are an early planner, you have found the perfect group:lmao:
We are off and running. :moped:
We even have some activities already being planned
TiggerB has got a new thread set up as a one stop shop for the group
(copied from one of her posts - started another thread w/ our cruise name, date, and various information. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2960451 --- One Stop Info/Ideas Shop (Post # 1-7) )
When you get a chance, stop by and give it a look, and I will forward your name to her, and she will get you on the roll call for that page.

:hyper:QUESTION:::yes::
Do you want to be part of the FE???

Also, we have a group page set up so we can have a site to share private info in a not so public setting. It is a place for pictures, address books, cabin info (for those wanting to take part in the FE and Secret Mickey).
Watch your PM:surfweb:. I will be sending you and invite here shortly.:hourglass

Once again, welcome aboard :boat: I look forward to getting to know you :goodvibes

As some of you may know ( I had posted a 'Meet me in Califonia at Disneyland' on our other thread, and on our group page) that my family is planning a surprise trip to California soon.
What I am writing today about is a HELP question

Has anyone flown on Spirit Airlines before?
We are planning to fly Spirit (mainly to save $$$), but I have heard mixed reviews :crowded: , :scared: , but some :thumbsup2
Does anyone have any first hand experience...we have done our research, and will be traveling extra light (only backpacks), bringing our own snacks, and not locked into any time schedules.

Sorry for being a little off topic, but advice from friends :goodvibes is more trust worthy than that of angry posts  from people I do not know.

Have a great weekend everyone.

I only have second-hand experiences: A co-worker of mine and her friend just recently spent three weeks in the Northeast of the US and in the Southeast of Canada. They did several domestic flights on Spirit and really loved it. I gave her my GPS for the trip and also provided her with a lot of tips (I have 19 USA-trips under my belt) and so when she got back we talked a lot about her experiences and she highly recommended Spirit.

I also have a tip for a nice, affordable hotel right next to Disneyland. Check out this one http://www.parkvueinn.com/ We stayed there in 2008 and really liked it. Affordable, clean, free parking and right across the street from the Main Entrance Plaza of DL.

Howdy (again):wave2:

I am writing today to see if anyone in our small little group has any tech saviness that they can lend.
I can draw and upload my pics, and have figured out our group page, but beyond that, I am stumped when it comes to tech stuff.
I am wanting to make a "surprise...your going to Disney" clip for DS (youngest).
:happytv:You know like the commercials that were running for a while:happytv:

Does anyone know how (and is capable of) to record a sound clip and send it via email.

Short synapsis of our Birthday trip unveil plan :ssst:

We want to create a CD to play in the car on the way to where he thinks he is going for his trip :drive: (which is not usually a Disney location).
The CD will sound as if we are listening to radio Disney.
And at a certain point, we want to have what sounds like a DJ :mic: announce that they will be calling the winner of the Radiator Springs Family Getaway after the next song.
Then, we will have DH's phone ring and play out as though DS is the winner, and that we are able to leave that day.

Which, is why I am seeking help from anyone who may know how to make a voice recording. I think I can figure out the music part (as long as it is like transferring music from CD's or downloads to older DS's MP3, than I am good to go).

Thank y'all soooo much in advance for any help you can offer in the tech area.:goodvibes

~TINK~

:thanks:

Here's some freeware you can use;
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
You just need a mike that you can hook up to your computer. If you're using a laptop or netbook it may even have a built-in microphone. If you use a desktop there's a jack for a microphone either on the front panel or it's located on the rear on the soundcard right next to the outlet for the speakers.
You can get a mike for a few bucks at your local Best Buy, Radio Shack, etc.

Eric, Danke :thumbsup2

:mic: That is a great recording tool :goodvibes

Once we make the CD, and do the unveil, I will let you know how it went
