We're going to be booking April 10-17 at all star movies!!! We're going to be doing the new Quick Service Dining plan, so we don't need to make any reservations, seeing how I have no idea how the crowds will affect us making it to them on time.
Some of my family and friends say i'm crazy for going that week, but we're driving and cannot let my kids miss all of that school. We'll be gone for a total of 10 days , that would be 7 school days. My dd9 doesn't have the easiest time and I know would be stressed at school when we returned.
I am signed up with touringplans and as the trip gets closer I will be planning out our days like a madwoman.
But for now, I am excited , this will be our first time!!! And we will be in Disney for Easter!!!
Also what are everyone's plans. We are not doing a park on Easter day, maybe we'll go to DTD, play mini golf(we are BIG mini golf fans), but i'm not sure of what else yet... I know I still have plenty of time to figure out.
So what is everyone else doing Easter week at Disney!!!:goofy:

We are going the 11-17 of April. But we are doing the exact opposite and doing the deluxe dining plan because we think that with spring break across the country WDW will be insane and we want to use our meals as breaks out of the madness and heat. Who knows if that will end up messing us up or not but we will see and I may have some last minute changes if it does. We will see. I am also a madwoman when it comes to planning so the next few months will be fun and crazy.

We are going from April 9-18th. DH :teacher: & DD will only have to miss 1 day of school. We will be staying at the POFQ. We have never been down there during April vacation and am not sure yet what we will be doing. I signed up for touring plans too and as soon as the hours come out from Disney, will start planning that along with the ADRs since we are on the regular DP.

I am just hoping that it won't be so crazy busy that the parks will have to close down since they are at max. I have never been when it has been that crowded. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Yes, another Easter in WDW for us as well...this is our favorite time of year to go!! We'll be at the FQ from 4/11-4/17 and we are also doing the counter service plan.....we are still trying to decide where to have Easter dinner, Boma maybe, or Chef Mickeys, dont know yet.

How has it been in the past during Easter/Vacation week? I am a little nervous about the crowds being so huge they shut the park down.

It is busy....you really should have a plan of attack, we do TourguideMike every Easter week, and we have had much success. The weather is gorgeous which makes up for the crowds. I would much rather go during Easter week than in late August.....the crowds were minimal, but me and the girls thought we were going to die in the heat:scared: just too stinkin' hot!!!! Have a plan, and you'll be F-I-N-E!!!!

Have fun. We are going two weeks before Easter. Lucky for us our spring break falls that way in '09. Last March it fell into the week of Easter and it was a nightmare. Wall to wall people.:scared1: I vowed never again to go then.

Has anyone made their ADRs for CM or CRT? I called first thing Saturday morning. We have never eaten at Chef Mickeys so I am real excited to be eating there on our first day.

We will be there April 5-10, week before Easter, staying at POR. It looks like many have their Spring Break after Easter, which gives me hope for less people :rotfl2:

I made my Chef Mickey's and CRT last Tuesday (my 180 mark) and was successful with the times I wanted. Now, if I could only decide on the rest of my ADR's we will be in business. This is our first trip as a family (DD (8), DD (4) and our first trip as 'grownups', so I am planning away!

Today was my 180 day for the day I wanted and I totally forgot to call for CRT. I wil call tomorrow and *crossing fingers AND toes* be able to get CRT breakfast on the morning of our anniversary. If not I will try for the next day.

Michelle and Aaron-

Hey neighbor! I see you are in Charleston. We are in Columbia! Just wanted to wish you luck in getting into CRT for your anniversary!

Oh hey there! Always nice to meet a neighbor!
Thanks for the well wishes. I called this morning and they had an opening! It is later than I wanted but hey, at least we got in right!

Hi all-- I just wanted to jump in and say we'll be there for Easter too! We drive down on April 10th (get there the 11th) and stay until the 18th. I am so excited, DH had never been to WDW until we went last Thanksgiving. About 3 months after we got home he started mentioning another trip. Last week he asked me to move our (ready to book 500 days out on Thanksgiving Day this year...) 2010 April Vacation trip to 2009. Since my girls still think we're going to Tennessee, I can be excited about our April "trip" and they'll be none the wiser until we tell them at Christmas! ITA that with planning, Easter won't be that bad. All my previous WDW experiences have been school vacations anyway as well as last Thanksgiving, so we are prepared at least. So glad to see people happy about heading there for Easter too!!

Heidi :woohoo:

Awesome that you get to go this year instead of next!
And that was a complete surprise! DH went "for my sake" last Nov. since he knew it meant a lot to me. He and my girls just couldn't conceive of WDW. Well, suffice it to say, now he knows! ;) I was blown away when he wanted to switch and he is thrilled that we have the ressies now! Things just don't usually happen like that :lmao:

We hope we can hold out until Christmas to tell the girls of the change in plans. I plan to place the first clue in a little treasure hunt in the Dec. 24 Advent Calendar drawer. Christmas Eve's drawer is always a bigger "little" gift... I hope to end with them finding Disney Ornaments that I have personalized with April 2009! Now watch us give it all away next week!!:rotfl: We are horrible secret keepers when it comes to the girls (14 and 8).

Thanks for sharing my happiness ;)

Hello Luvamouse, I see you are from RI too. We will be arriving on the 9th and leaving the 18th. Are you driving down? Dh has been considering it but we have three little ones who are 1,3,5 and I think it will be too much just yet. The price of SW goes on sale on Nov 6, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that the price to fly won't be too much.
