Might head to Disney next year. Not sure yet though. Either 2015 or 2016. After going this year, we were going to go in 3 years (parents 40th anniversary), but don't want to wait that long.

I've read that Easter is one of the busier weeks. By looking at crowd calendars it looks like 8 and 9's. Memorial day weekend is 9, but weekdays are 7 and 8. First week of June is 7 and 8. Is there much of a difference between 7/8 (may) and 8/9 (easter)? Really trying to avoid the heat, but at the same time would sacrifice some heat for manageable crowds.

Went to Disney this past January (MLK week) and loved that time. It was more crowded than we expected, but waits weren't bad. The weather was cool, but great.

I don't think my nephews mom will be keen on us taking him out of school again, so we're going to have to look at weeks he's off, but I'm avoiding the real heat of the summer.

Hi,

Yes--there is a big difference. Easter is one of the 2 or 3 busiest weeks of the year at WDW. This week (end May/beginning of June) is far less busy than Easter.

Don't get me wrong--you won't be walking on the most popular rides (or hardly anything), but it is definitely not as crowded as Easter week. It will be much more crowded than MLK week though.

Ive been in the first few weeks of June and it really wasn't that bad. We went in with a plan and had a great time.

Remember that a lot of southern states schools don't let out till early/mid-June (esp if we have snow days to makeup!) My daughter wont get out of school this year till June 15th...

So while it wont be a *slow* time to go, its much more manageable than Easter!

have spring break around Easter so crowds will be higher. My wife grew up in the Atlanta area and they combined Esater and spring break.

The earliest couple of weeks in June will have slightly lighter crowds. One advantage of the early part of June is that traditionally Dinsey has included the room discounts with the spring offers. You will have plenty of time to plan your vacation.

We went over Easter this year, and it wasn't nearly as bad as we'd feared; however, Easter was late this year and didn't coincide as much with Spring Break. We were happy to sacrifice a little more time in line for better weather, but, truly, we didn't wait longer than half an hour for 95% of what we did, and usually much less.

Check out the spring break polls on this forum including the 2015 Spring Break Poll. The 2015 poll is still "young" so it needs more responses but it is showing a peak around Easter (April 5). This year (2014) had spring breaks spread out more throughout the spring than usual. Seems like most years there are 2 or 3 weeks that really stand out.

Many northern schools are still in session throught mid-June. A lot of the schools in the Deep South are out around the 3rd week of May.

Late May through the first week of June is much less crowded than around Easter and later in the summer.

Gay Days has scheduled park visits around the 1st Saturday in June with the 1st Saturday in June being the day for visiting the MK. This adds to the crowds in the parks and resorts but nothing near the size around Easter.

Star Wars Weekends adds to the crowds in May and June as well; especially weekends in DHS.

Thank you for all the thoughts. This year my nephews spring break wasn't Easter, but next year it is (as looking at the link from Day-Day the week after seems norm right now). If it wasn't, we'd probably just do that.

I posted in another thread, that we were talking today. Thinking of last week of May and adding hoppers. Getting to one park early, ride what we want, then leave by noon. Go to the resort till about 5, then go to another park that we have FP+'s lined up for.

This January we planned on an afternoon break, but with the parks closing early it was hard to accomplish. We actually didn't even try. I'm thinking with parks open till 10 (or later) this will be much more feasible (although, we won't be in the park much past 10).

Still don't know for sure what we'll do, but the responses here about Easter being that much more crowded makes me think I'd rather deal with the heat. My nephew is from VA, so while it isn't quite as hot as Florida, it is 90 and humid most days in the summer, so he's at least somewhat used to it.

We were worried about the end of May and beginning of June too, but have gone twice and had little crowd issues. Only concern would be Star Wars at HS and we wanted to see it.

On the graphs and polls, Easter just seems to be way too crowded for us.

Enjoy!
