Hi all,

We will be staying at OKW this Easter and was wondering if anyone has past experience with the Easter Egg Hunt they have.

I understand that there are two age groups, but what I am really interested in is the times as we would like to attend a local church sometime during the morning, but don't want to disappoint the kids.

Have called Hanks!!! a few times and they really don't after any details as of right now. "Yes, there will be an Easter Egg Hunt and, Yes there will be two age groups; but that's all. Please call back later on in the week and maybe we'll have more info." Is the words I got.

So after calling three times with the same info, I thought I'd send it out to the boards for some definitive answers.

Thanks for all the help these boards have provided in the past.

BUMP BUMP

I'm bumping this to the top as I can't believe nobody on the boards has been to the OKW Easter Egg hunt and has some info on how it is run.

Thanks

Hi Kenny,

I have never been but I did find this write-up in last year's VM about last year's Hunt.

Beginning at sunrise, guests age 5-15 will enjoy our 4th annual Easter Egg Hunt. There will be more than 1,000 eggs hidden throughout Disney's Old Key West Resort, and the hunt isn't over until each and every egg has been found! For Guests age 4 and under, we've got a very special Easter Egg Hunt planned for 9:00 a.m. Tiny tots can look for little treats, including candy and other prizes.

At 10:00 a.m. , bring your camera and autograph books to Papa's Den, where a very special Disney character will make a guest appearance! And during the week before Easter, we'll have daily seasonal arts and crafts programs, so be sure to pick up an Easter Week flyer at the Front Desk upon arrival.

Hope this helps give you an idea of what might be in store this year.

We go every Easter This year BCV. Went to OKW at Easter 2 years ago. The easter egg hunt started at sun up. Each child under 16 ( i think ) was allowed to find 3 ( i think) plastic eggs.
Inside the eggs were small pieces of color paper. At 9 am the community hall opened up and you turned in your plastic eggs and color paper for Easter goodies. Different colors for different
items, candy and small stuffed items. The Plastic Easter eggs are all over the resort but not on any main roads. Most of the eggs were hidden around the pools. Some plastic eggs were set out in ther open so little ones can find them easily.

Thanks George for the added info. I guess with those times, I'll be able to fit in church around the hunt.

I see we are practically neighbors, so to speak.

Kenny, George is correct. We were there last year and that is exactly how it went. The kids had a blast. If you have little kids (sorry I do not remember the age) they have a hunt in the sand by community hall. Most of the eggs are by the pool and play grounds, but they are all over. We found some eggs in the bushes right out side our door. If you get a chance the kids will love it. Enjoy!!

One last thing you had till the afternoon to turn your eggs into prizes, so you do have time to go to church. but try to get the kids to wait might be a problem. Last year they had Easter services at the Contempory Convention Center, but this year i was told we have to go off property.
