We are traveling for Easter dinner and I was asked to bring the dessert. Anyone have any yummy desserts that travel well? Would be nice if it didn't need to be kept cold, but if I have to bring a cooler I can.

i too am traveling for easter and bringing dessert - i have simply decided to let costco make something nice for me!! a lot less to worry about!!

A trifle makes a nice, easy springtime dessert. Since you're traveling, you can bring all the components separately and assemble once you're there!

Well our traditional Easter dessert is cocunut cream pie. And I have made a trifle "variation" on this in the past, although not specifically for Easter. It was a spur of the moment dessert in an "emergency". I had an angel food cake, vanilla pudding, and coconut on hand and that was about it!

I cut the cake into squares, made up the pudding and layered the three ingredients, finishing with a layer of pudding and cocunut on top.

We like a chocolate trifle. OK, OK we love chocolate anything. What I do is either make a yellow cake, brownies or get something like a Sara Lee pound cake. I cut it up into bite size pieces. Line the bowl with a layer, then chocolate pudding, sprinkle some favorite candies like Heath bars broken into pieces, M&Ms, etc, then keep layering cake, pudding, candies. I top it with whip cream and Chocolate sprinkles and candies. Its the first thing to go. I think next time I need to make it in a tub!!
