Easter Baskets - how old is too old?

I make baskets for my two sons, almost 18 and 15. I also do them for my husband and my Mom. In addition we have a candy hunt in our upstairs bedrooms, an egg hunt in the downstairs room, plastic eggs filled with candy and a HUGE (over 300 eggs) egg hunt outside with coins in the plastic eggs. The outside one is done with my niece and nephew who are 24 and 23. Everyone has fun and it gives everybody a chance to be a kid again. I love all the Holidays and so does my family!

My husband and I are 37. Both our Moms still give us Easter baskets. Usually candy and goodies. Who doesn't love :love:an Easter basket?! My MIL puts more grown up stuff in hers and gives us one big one. Small Yankee candles, little crafty things, a ceramic bunny etc.

My Mom gives us candy and buys those big filled chocolate eggs (peanut butter for DH/ coconut cream for me) from the local Catholic Church. DH and I tend to trade our candy. I don't make my Son an Easter basket mostly because my Mom makes him one that usually needs a wheel barrel to transport. We usually buy him a game or movie and just stick it in hers. This will be our daughters first Easter. She'll be almost 11 months. She'll get cheerios, goldfish, a stuffed bunny and her first taste of chocolate. Yum! :cloud9:

Every year my mom gives me a basket and says "This is the last year I am doing a basket for you!" but every time Easter rolls around the next year, I get a basket. I am 31. She just can't help herself! When I was in college, she used to send baskets to me AND my 3 good friends. When I lived in a an apartment with 2 roommates, they got baskets from my mom as well. She is nuts!

I agree with those who say you're never too old! I make baskets for DH64, DS16, DD15 and dear doggy, age 4. Of course, I have to make my own!!!

I will do them even when they are grown up. I don't think you are ever too old I always do a basket and some Presents also last year they got new bikes. This year might do a basketball hoop and new trampoline.

I still get Easter "Baskets" which are now more Easter Boxes. As she is a 16 hour car ride away. She slips little things that I wont buy my self some eyeshadow, nail polish, bags of Easter candy, that type of thing. She now slips a few things for DH in there. And as soon as we have LO's I'm sure they will also get an Easter Basket from DGM. Gotta love moms!

The Easter Bunny left baskets for me at my parents house until DS was born. At which point the Easter Bunny started bringing DS's stuff to our house, and then forgetting and leaving my candy at my parents' house still.... Yeah. That's one nutty Easter Bunny.

Those of you who do baskets for adults - what do you put in them? Love the idea. I actually did a basket for DH and I to share one year and was thinking I might suggest that we do baskets for each other this year. But I'm stumped on what to put in them - especially his. I'm running out of ideas for my 19yo DS too.

I put gift cards, DVD, computer game, flashlight and small items I know DH will like and add his favorite candies.

Your never too old for an Easter Basket. MIL does one for me and DH (33 and 39 respectivley) as well as the kids and DH and I do one for each other and one for his parents as well as of course one for our kids. When I was 16 my step dad decided I was too old for a basket and insisted my mom not get me one. When we went to my grandmothers house for dinner that year I was the only kid without a basket and alot of the adults had got them too. It just made me feel really cruddy so I have no intention of stopping the baskets for my kids, now 14, 12, and 10 anytime soon, maybe not ever.

My mom filled a basket for me until I moved out at 22. She still buys Easter candy for us though, just doesn't put it in a basket.

My kids are 17 & 13--I still take care of Easter baskets for them. You're never too old!

You are never too old for an Easter basket. My mom has always made one for me, I just turned 26 and when my dad was alive she did one for him as well. We also always made one for her.

This year we found really cute Disney Easter bags, lunchbag sized, at Walgreen's that we will use for ours. My mom normally gets me a cd or dvd I have been wanting, or a book plus a bottle of my favorite Bath and Body Works Lotion and a small amount of candy. I think I am going to get her a drawing book she mentioned wanting plus a chocolate bunny. Plus I am making one for our kitty girls with some treats, a new toy for each of them, and some catnip.

How old were your kids or yourself if you can remember! when you stopped filling Easter baskets?

UHHHhhhh.... the Easter bunny makes DH and I a joint Easter basket every year....and we're 26. He also leaves little egg droppings for DH to follow to find the basket on Easter morning.... since I help the Easter bunny, I already know where the basket is....

Well, my daughter is a legal adult and my son is well into his teens and I still do Easter baskets. I think that they would be very disappointed if I didn't do something.

Actually, for my daughter I have used the same Longaberger basket for all these years. For my son I have used a plain basket but I did get creative one year and put his goodies in a new catcher's mitt!

I usually make one for my mom and sister and my mom still makes them for us. It's fun.

My 88yo grandmother still makes them for both of her sons and dil's, as well as for her grandkids and greatgrandkids. She is a firm believer in you are never too old!:)

I think it was when they hit double digits they began to express concerns about their friends knowing they had Easter Baskets so I switched to the family basket. One big Easter Ceramic bowl filled with eggs and candy for all, they never complained about that.

I still make it for them and the grandchildren now.
