My DD-4 is not a big candy kid, and she has enough stuffed animals to provide fur coats to a small state (does anyone know do those things breed on their own? ). So do you have any Easter basket/Plastic Egg Hunt ideas? Thank you.:D

How about pennies, nickles, and dimes inside the eggs. Mayve small stickers?

My son has always loved getting money inside the eggs.

How about coins -- pennies, dimes, nickles, quarters? Maybe she could collect enough to go out and buy something special (other than candy or another stuffed animals).

By the way, yes, the stuffed animals do breed, at least in our house. Just when you think you have weeded them out -- out pop some more that were just waiting for the opprotunity. I now give them to the dog for chew toys -- but then the kids always find them in the yard and try to re-claim them. :)

I know exactly how you feel. I am pretty strict about excessive candy so, I don't go overboard on the candy. They get baskets from the easter bunny, their father and stepmother, and 2 sets of grandparents. This leads too a smorgasboard of candy and stuffed animals. Several years ago I decided the easter bunny would start giving movies in the basket instead of stuffed animals. It works great for my kids, they love getting the movies much better and they get watched over and over and not just thrown in the bottom of the toy box. I agree that coins are a great idea for the plastic eggs. My mother in law does this for the egg hunt at her house and the kids LOVE it. I think all kids love to spend their own money. Since we are on the subject of easter baskets, I wonder if I could get some opinions. We will be arriving in WDW on Easter this year. I had hinted to my girls that the Easter bunny might not come here this year since we will be there. They are fine with it. I have been thinking about getting them a small basket with some Disney related items. Now I can't decide whether to find a way to surprise them with it at the hotel or to have my mom bring it to our house while we are gone with a note from the Easter bunny saying he's sorry he missed them. What do you all think?( I did suggest to the family this year to give the girls Disney dollars instead of easter baskets to take with them to spend. )

GoofieRuthie, WE spent two Easters in WDW(wish we were this year too!!) What I did was get nice Spring/Easter bags and brought a few items from home to put in each bag. Also a few chocolate bunnies and eggs. I also brought some small plastic eggs and did an Easter egg hunt in the room!If you are at your hotel early enough be sure to check out if there is an Easter egg hunt on the grounds, We did the one both years at the GF and it was FANTASTIC!! I may put in a bag of M&M's but what I like to fill my DS's (age 7) Easter basket with is toys (ie, yoyo, yu-gi-ho cards) backpack clipon, pencils, notepads, & one or two Game Boy Advance Games. This year I may even throw in a book of MacDonald's Gift Certificates. He has gotten rolled up tee-shirts, bathing suit & a Playstation game in the past.

I would think for a little princess, it would be much easier (& more fun) to fill an Easter Basket with little girl make-up stuff & pretty hair accessories, maybe one of those 3 inch dolls (can't remember the name but they're real popular right now), there are also those mini Bratt Dolls too. (Too young for Bratt dolls?) You can put a puzzle in there too.

As for GoofieRuthie's question about whether to bring Easter Basket stuff along to WDW or wait till they get home.....in 2000, we went for Easter & I brought along a gift bag (with jelly beans on it) since baskets don't travel as well, & how do you hide them? I also brought along all the things I was going to stuff it with (sunglasses, candy, pez, pokemon cards, yoyo, Mickey Cap, & I can't remember what else...) and that morning while he was still asleep, I asembled it & set it on the table in our room. He was so excited to see that the Easter Bunny was able to find him. He was 4 at the time.

Kinder Surprise Eggs! Kids love them. They are hollow chocolate eggs that you open up to a surprise inside. You would be surprised at some of the toys that you find inside. These are very popular in Germany and Italy and you can order them online. I use them all year long because all kids love them.

Here's a good web site. When I lived in the US I used to order from this guy and was very happy with the service. http://www.kinder-eggs.com/

how about a video, DVD, or barbie (books are great too)

for hunt, go for the coins in the eggs($1 bills if you feel extra generous) I did that one year and my DD loved it =)

Thanks these are great. Gotta go shopping :) .

We've used the fruit snacks, fruit roll-ups, by-the-foot, etc. I keep them in the original packaging though. Many of the small things we used to keep DD occupied in line at WDW would fit into the larger sized eggs - things like bubbles (I used the wedding type), fireworks glasses, spinners, etc. We have a store called US Toy Creative Playthings that sells "carnival prizes." Stuff like super balls, glow sticks/bracelets, tatoo stickers, small animals, ball-on-elastic, etc.

I use to also get things that dd could use outside with the nice weather coming up - egg shaped sidewalk chalk or regular sidewalk chalk, jump rope, kite, bubbles and a cool blower or something similar to that, etc. And I'd also get her something "artsy" for inside too. She loved those kinds of things and I had the same situation - too much candy from other loved ones.

Fruit, Goldfish crackers, cookies, wild or cute socks, a book, crayons, coloring book.

I think movies & cd's if she has a cd player are a good idea
7 yr old dd is getting spy kids II movie & Hillary Duff CD for Easter
We always do money in the eggs
My mom always does a basket totally with gifts no candy at all for DD - usually sunglasses, sandals, bathing suit, stickers, jewelry, & books

I try to do snack besides candy - fruit snacks, small snack packs of cheese doodles, popcorn, etc. Toothbrush is another biggie

I have done the movies - also have done computer software - this year hopefully second Harry Potter movie (preordered) will arrive in time for her basket - also found bubble gum in the shape of easter eggs

What I do for my niece and nephew is:
Fruit snacks, money, Gc to differnt places. Play makeup, Tattoos, Stickers, play jewery, t shirts, pokeman cards, Chuck e cheese tokens, tokens to arcade type place.

WE are not allowed to give gum for obvious reasons and last thing I want to do is spend my weekend at parents house with SUGARED kids. I like video idea I might just have to do that.

My parents even file my eeyore basket :)
