We will be hopefully (fingers crossed) be coming back to our happy place next spring. We will be arriving at the beginning of Easter and spending a few days up in LA before heading for Anaheim. How busy is Easter Sunday, and when do crowds begin to drop back? We will probably be in the States for a couple of weeks and need to know how to make the most of our time. We'd hope to go to Knotts too if anyone knows best days of the week there. I've also put a Universal query over on the Southern California board, but it seems like since they stopped linking to that one on this board, noone goes on it! So if any locals can help out with that area pretty please have a look on that board!

I answered over there, so check that, but generally the only issue you will face with Easter weekend are some retail stores closed on Easter Sunday. I wouldn’t expect anything to be closed Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or the Monday after Easter. Theme parks will be open.

Around this time you might see a little bump in crowds due to Spring Breaks and specifically the Easter weekend, but any more with reservations in place at Disneyland it’s hard to say that Easter weekend is specifically much different crowd-wise than any other weekend around that time. Remembering “Disneyland is always crowded no matter when you go” is good to set expectations.

For all theme parks the standard advice applies: mid-weekdays are less crowded than weekend days, so aim for a Tuesday-Thursday visit if possible.

We were there this Easter, and crowds were typical holiday weekend but not “crazy, close the park gates”. We usually travel at crowded times since we always travel on school breaks, so Easter was pretty typical for us. We used G+ to great success. Do book onsite hotels early, if you plan to stay onsite, and if you do, that makes your park reservations much less stressful. If you stay onsite, Extra Magic hours should be active again, which also helps on a busy holiday weekend. We did a lot of mobile ordering, and we had a great trip! We didn’t have it planned at the 60 day mark, so we didn’t have the best luck with dining reservations initially. But with persistence, I was able to get everything we wanted (Oga’s, LL brunch, regular LL, Blue Bayou, etc).

It would be great if Magic Mornings were back on! We have been at Easter before and it's never been that bad, so fingers crossed.
