I voted no simply because we have relatives that live close to DL and it is much easier and cheaper to stay with them for the few times we would ever visit. Also, it leaves cash available to add on at WDW!:thumbsup2

I voted that I don't know. I have never been to DL and I am hoping to take my first trip there next year. Once I check it out plus see the points charts, then I will decide.

DW, DS, and I would love to own enough points for a Sunday-Thursday stay at GCV once every 3 years (same idea as OP). Our favorite vacation destination is Southern California. We are currently feeding 5yo DS the idea that his best options for college will be in CA, just so we have an excuse to visit, and maybe retire there.

The one holdback is the cost - I too need to see the cost of the points and the points chart before adding on. We definitely will want to stay there, though, so as other posters have said, to own may be the only way to stay with such a small number of units being made available.

I won't be buying in DL or Hawaii....they are both too far to go regularly.

I will visit hawaii and DL....but I think once is enough....and I will just use my points at the 7mth mark.

I just wonder how easy GCV will be to book at the 7-month mark? With just 50 units, it will be the smallest DVC resort ever (HHI has 102, VWL has 136, VB has 175 and BCV has 208).

I think GCV will be more difficult to book at the 7-mo window than BCV.

Definitely the #1 reason we are considering buying there. "Buy where you want to stay" should prove to be no more true than at GCV. I think many DVC members only other options for staying there will be by paying cash to rent from DVC or other members.
