Earmuffs in June? Update 7/5 Trip Report Link!

I love my Croc flip flops! It's all I wear in Disney! One rainy day I wore my sneakers, and my feet and legs hurt by the end of the day! Never with my Crocs. I buy the Crocband shoes for the boys. I like the white band that goes around the bottom, it makes them look a little nicer. They did have those in WDW in January, but with the Mickey holes.

I'm glad they watched / partially watched POTC! I forgot about the whipping part. There is a lot of fighting, but it doesn't seem nearly as bad as it could be, they spare us the gore that's in some movies, plus it has a bit of comedy in there.

Yay, your trip is getting so close!

Wow! Your trip is just around the corner, how exciting!!

I ordered a pair of croc flip flops and love them!! Their sizing is hard to figure out if you're not familiar with them.

We bought the body glide stuff at a sporting goods store last year, Academy I think... Be sure to try some place like that!

Your trip is almost here!! :yay:

I will have to make pair #2 croc flip flops. I love my crocs, especially for teaching. My soles are completely treadless, though. I've slipped bigtime when the ground is wet. Especially on the paint lines when crossing the street!

Good to know about the croc flip flops! Ethan has a pair of crocbands. They are super cute. Finn wants green ones. I do like the Disney version, but I'm not a huge fan of the mickey heads on the band part. I do like the Mickey head holes, though. I found a super cute pair of wall-e crocs. They are green with small pictures of wall-e on them. None in his size, though. The toy story ones are cute, too, but they don't have the ventilation holds I think necessary for Disney in June. I really want to find sophie a pair of Disney Mary janes for less than $20. I'm finding them, but they are all pricey. I can find regular Mary janes for around $12 (NWT even!).

I'll have to report later on how POTC 3 went!!!

I'll be interested to hear how you like the Tevas and the Croc flip flops. I'm thinking of getting some new sandals before our next trip, and I was considering Tevas, Crocs, or Keens. Of course, ideally, I'd get all three and alternate.

I found Body Glide at Dick's Sporting Goods, in the soccer section. I couldn't find it at Target or Walmart, but it was there.

I am loving the Teva olowahus!!! I wore them to six flags three days in a row. Between my toes on my right foot is a little tender, but I assume it will get better with more wear/time. I'm almost tempted not to get the crocs now and just go for a regular pair of Teva mush (I don't want to get another pair of olowahus in case I do have a problem). They are super comfy and no real aches! The kids have been wearing their Keens a ton with no blisters. They are just such a pain to get on their feet. Even sophie needs help. Its so much easier to tell them to put on their crocs!!! I ordered some Disney jibbitz from eBay and will be hopefully getting Finn his crocs next week. I decided not to do Disney crocs and just go with lime green crocbands. That way the jibbitz will stay in.

I do like the Disney version, but I'm not a huge fan of the mickey heads on the band part. I do like the Mickey head holes, though.

I saw those on the Croc website, and I wasn't a fan of the mickey heads on the band either. I'm pretty sure the ones they were selling in the park did not have the mickey heads on the band, just the holes. I liked that better. Sounds like you made up your mind now anyway. My kids never cared about the jibbitz, and the jibbitz ended up breaking. I think I liked them more than they did!

I loved my Croc Capri with the canvas straps, and then they stopped making them! So in it's place I think I got the Crocband Flip. They were great in Disney, just had one spot on the top of my foot that was rubbing the strap. I had 3 colors though, and it was only one of them that rubbed. :confused3 Of course now the Croc Capri is back. I like my new ones better anyway.

I'm curious how POTC 3 went!

Ooh! Thanks for giving me some specific names of crocs! I'll have to look the capris and crocband flips up. I have just been seeing the regular flip flop.

Sophie made it through maybe 1/4 of POTC 3 before she fell asleep. That's ok. She gets the jist. She still doesn't completely get the story line unless it's explained to her, anyway. That movie confused me a lot, so I don't think she missed much! I really liked it, though! She wants to see part 4 soon!!! I would love to go before we leave for Disney!

Yes, the 3rd movie had me confused too at first. I also couldn't keep straight what happened in which movie. Now that we are watching them all more, I'm much better at it. I had to explain a lot to the boys too. Now the boys are both looking forward to each getting a compass of their own, after it was suggested by my DH. I think the POTC gift shop may be their favorite on this trip.

What I love most about Crocs - you can get them wet, easily clean them, and they just don't stink!

Today is my last day of school!!!! Yahoo!!! My classroom is all packed up and my class has their picnic today. My own kids still have 2 weeks of school left so I can obsess about Disney with just my littlest guy at home.

Sophie is donating her hair to locks of love on Monday! It's going to be short. Probably chin length. But she looks so cute with the short bob, anyway. I want to get a cut that's a bit longer in the front and shorter in the back. I need to find pictures.

Plans:

-Complete my spreadsheet (thanks to a couple of lovely DISers who shared theirs with me!!!)
-create a Disney playlist for the iPod
-pack kids' clothes in baggies (as much as I can since they will need some stuff still
-shop for state line party gift bag stuff (dollar store items, candy, and snacks that I will give out at each state border, pending behavior)
-shop for toiletries, ponchos, and other random necessities at the dollar store
-order new crocs for Finn, and hopefully one more pair of flip flops for myself
-pack car bags for each kid. I'll probably use Sophie and ethan's current backpacks, so I'll have to actually wait to pack them until the 17th, but I can at least assemble
-pore over the dis for stuff I am missing from the eleventy-two lists I have made
- go see pirates of the Carribean 4
-shave boys' heads
-make family shirt
-order photo pass

TO BE CONTINUED, I'm sure!!!

I absolutely love your idea of a state line party gift bag. That is really cute! I am sure my kids would love something like that. Hmmm! Makes me think. Do I really need another project? But I really love the idea!

I stole it from someone here! I can't remember who, though. I'm planning on picking thing like activity books, magnet sets, small toys, sweet treat, salty snack, etc. Then putting it into a goody bag type thing. Maybe have 2-3 items per "party."

I was also thinking about giving the kids 2 gas station coupons a piece. We'll have healthy snacks in the car along with the small state line treat. However, in my family, the kids go nuts over gas station snacks and it can get pricey. I figured they can use their coupons at any gas station they choose. Once they are gone, they are gone. They will have to deal with what we have. Then on the way home they'll get them back. Perhaps one of the state line bags will have an extra coupon. Maybe this will give them some practice with budgeting at Disney!

I'm done with school!!!! Yahoooooo!!!! I am still working in the office from 6:30-9 am each day, but that's OK. I'm home by 10 and my MIL has the kids fed and dressed for me!:lmao: plus it helps with our budget!

I ordered the shoes today. I ended up getting croc flip flops. Hesitantly. I really love the Teva mush. I've worn them everyday since last saturday and there are no sore spots anymore. They are so comfy. I'm sure I'll like the crocs as well. I hope.

Finn loves green. For the past year, he wants everything green. So, of course, green crocs were on the list. I found a brand new pair of Wall-E crocs on eBay. I'm not a huge fan of the movie, and Finn has never seen it, but bright green crocs with robots on them made him very happy!

I can't believe your trip is almost here! Don't you love the pre-trip rush of tons of important things to do?

I think the gas station coupons are a cute idea, and getting one in a state line bag should make it even more fun. How many states do you all go through?

It is getting so close! :cool1: We went swimming at scott's aunt's house today with one of the groups of cousins going on the trip with us. We talked a lot of Disney! :woohoo: They are all staying at Yacht and Beach, which I am so jealous of! We have heard Stormalong Bay is strictly no guests, but the CM they talked to said that exceptions can sometimes be made for grand gatherings. We may get lucky and be able to swim there a bit! That would be so nice.

Let's see... We start in Chicago, go through Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and then Florida. So we'd have 5 little bags a piece. Finn and I have some shopping to do!

Here are some six flags pics! Let's look at it as an appetizer for Disney!

It looks like you had a great time at Six Flags. We have never been to any of their parks. The closest thing we have here is Kings Island.

Oh, it is getting so close!!! I can hardly wait.

Sophie donated her hair to Locks of Love! This is her second time. The first was a year ago February. She cut off 10 inches last night!

We like six flags! It's not Disney, but it's fun! We really like our location. I've heard that others aren't very nice. We think ours is nice and clean!

You responded before I got the other pics up! I posted pics of Sophie's locks of love experience, too! I like showing off my baby!:cutie: :lmao:

Sophie's hair looks cute and I am sure the kids that get her hair will appreciate it.

It looks like you had a fun day at Six Flags. I grew up in New Jersey and we had Six Flags Great Adventure. It was always fun. Hope you are enjoying your week before the kids are out of school for the summer.

Thank you!!! I've been trying to use my time wisely in these 2 weeks. It has been 102 the past couple days and just miserable. We dont have our air conditioning in yet, so we're dragging quite a bit. I have gotten my spreadsheet worked on, some park strategies researched, and some dollar store shopping done. Tomorrow I think I'll work upstairs where we DO have AC and get some preliminary packing done. Then I can make a more accurate list.

LOVE Sophie's new haircut...she is all ready for the hot and sticky weather!

We're dealing with high temps here too...it's supposed to be in the high-90s with high humidity and we may very well break the high temp record of 98 set back in the 1930s!!!

I keep thinking of it as preparation for next week. I am also thankful to have a new neighbor who put in a pool and has allowed the kids to use it to cool off. They swam there for the first time two nights ago and LOVED it...and we have plans to visit again today for a swim. This time even *I* may have to get into the pool with them!:)
