EARLY ROLL CALL....September 18, 2005 on Disney's Wonder (4 day cruise)

Great pics! Your daughter is beautiful! Looks like your boys are into karate? I think I need to get my son an outlet like that. You know he could kick a ball really well right when he first started walking. I'm thinking soccer. I'm not as good with uploading pics and all. Don't even have a digital camera yet. Keeping fingers crossed for xmas! Hee. hee. But, I could send you an email link with our xmas pics we just got from sears if you want to pm me your email address, i'll send them to you. I have to get on the sears website and "share" the photos with whomever I want.

No, I hadn't noticed they quit taking reservations for the week after us. I did notice they took off labor day weekend for a charter. I was originally thinking of that weekend, but then one day it was gone, and I read somewhere it was due to a charter. I searched all the weekends left in sept/oct and ended up with this sailing as I found an SPR available so I booked and here we are!

Ok, I think I've finally figured out how to post my xmas sears pics link! :confused3 :scratchin :worried: I hope it works. Let me know if you can see it!

p.s. I edited to delete pics as I only wanted them on a public forum for a short time...too many perverts out there!:earseek:

Wow! Thats a good looking family you got there! BTW what is your name? LOL So I dont keep thinking of you as VOSS. LOL Thank you for your compliments on my daughter. My kids have been taking karate since october and they are really enjoying it. Before we cruised they tested for the next belt, which is a yellow belt! They all made it! I think it os very good for them, as they have 7 tenets that they are supposed to live by: Honor, Integrity, Self Control, Perserverance, Community, Courage, and courtesy. I cite those 7 words often! LOL

Hey Amanda. My name is Michelle. But it seems like everyone on this board and CC likes to call me Voss..to shorten up my screen name a bit. Ha. ha. You know its funny....when my daughter was 3 she went to our local church for preschool. A member of our church has a karate studio so to drum up some business he gave the kids 6 weeks of free lessons. He came to the church during preschool. My daughter (only 3 at the time) came home and did this thing with her hands over her head, bringing them down almost into a praying position and saying "she had to focus her mind" It was soooo hilarious! Cute but hilarious to see her so "focused".

Right now she takes gymnastics and dance. Her Christmas Recital is tomorrow. I can't wait.:D

Woohoo! a reall name! LOL Michelle! Good luck to your DD at her dance recital!

I've been reading on CC boards that you can get a day room at Atlantis for $150, so I'll have to comparison price that with Comfort Suites when we go.

kaseyc, are you still out there? Hope we haven't lost you.:D

Michelle,
I am just hoping my luck holds out for this cruise, as it did for this past Sept 19! So far it has as in not being the chartered ship! How did the dance recital go?

The recital went great! Soooo cute! I can't believe she didn't have stage fright, but she did everything she was supposed to do. Of course we videotaped it...my kids thought that was so much fun last night watching her on TV!! ha. ha.

Yes, be my good luck charm Amanda....I'm praying for no charters and good weather!:D

Hey, I don't know if you check out other cruising websites or not, but a lot of people (including some of the hosts) got sick of how CruiseCritic was run, so they started a new website called www.cruisefools.com. They don't have a Disney forum yet, but I'm working on that. Check it out and tell your friends! Love to see ya there.:cool1:

So, did you have a good Christmas? We had a great one! Nothing like the excitement on a 2 year old's face!:Pinkbounc :cheer2: We are doing inlaws Christmas this weekend.

Well, add 2 more for this cruise. My parents really wanted to go with us, so we got them booked this week. Luckily there was a category 11 just down the hall from us. My only dilemma now is Atlantis! We were either going to get a day room at Atlantis or Comfort Suites. It is my understanding you can only get 4 in a room at CS and 5 at A....but we have 6! I hate to pay for a 2nd room, and would like to just pay a little add'l for the 6th person! I'd also kind of feel like a heel saying...we'll pay for our family of 4's room..you pay for yours. But then I don't want to have to pay more out of my pocket either to share the expense of the extra room. Any suggestions?

We had a great holiday, thank you! I wish I could give you advice on the Atlantis dilemma....I just have no desire to go there... I was not impressed at all, of course we did not have access to the whole resort. Tell me again, what makes it so great to spend the money for a day room to get the access? If you can talk me into it, and of course if you would have us, I might consider spliting the cost of that 2nd room with your parents......It is not like we would need to be tied at the hip, right? Basically the cost of the room is getting the wristbands?? I dont know, tell me why? LOL

Hey, that thought hadn't occurred to me. But, if you decide you are interested, that would be great!:cool1: For me, whenever I saw it on TV, I always thought it would be a fun place to go. I remember Katie Couric's first trip down the big slide into the shark tank. Looks very steep, but what a blast! Its just always been on my list of places to see. When I booked this cruise, I didn't even realize that we would be going to Nassau and have the opportunity to see the Atlantis. I was booking for the characters and Disney excitment for my kids, not the ports. But, when I found out we could go to the Atlantis and see the awesome aquarium, the Dig, have access to all of the grounds including swimming pools, lazy river, water slides, beach, etc.... I thought SOLD! This way I don't have to take a special trip there...I can see it in one day and mark it off my list. I'm sure I'll have to do the slides even if my lil kiddos can't. hee. hee.

Now, I'm not sure yet whether we'll get a day room at Atlantis or CS. I haven't priced it all out yet for next sept. I've heard that the CS rooms are actually closer to the pools/slides, but on the down side, if you want to get into the room at all, it will be after check in time 3pm. If we get an atlantis day room you have the room all day to put your stuff, shower, or do whatever. Plus since we don't depart until 10:30 pm, I think we'll have a good long day to see a lot of the resort. Whether its you guys or someone else, I'm sure we'd just let you have the 2nd room for your own use as I'm sure my parents could just use our room for shower or whatever.

Anyway, I plan to do more research on the Atlantis and what all it has available after my PC crusie (which is in 2 weeks...WOOHOO!!!), so I can let you know more of what is available to do when I do that if you are still interested. If not, no sweat. The idea of finding someone else to share in the cost of the room is a good one. I'm sure I could find someone. Thanks!:D

Ahh it all seems like fun n your post....................let me know what you find out on the cost..it seems like I looked into this this past September and the room was about $180 or so? I dont quit recall.............Personally, I did not know you could not get into the CS until after 3 for the day room. So you can not use the Atlantis facilites until then?
Ok girl, research it and let me know what you find out. Maybe we can give it another shot............

Hi there! SO have you done any research on the matter? LOL I havent heard from you in a while, so just checking in.

Hey Amanda! Sorry, haven't been on the Dis much lately....leaving for my other cruise in 9 days!!! Been very busy. hee. hee.

No, I haven't done any additional research, but from what I looked into in the past, you could either not get a room at all at CS or get it at 3:00, but they would check you in when you get there so you could go straight over to Atlantis and get wristbands. The reason the day room at Atlantis would work better is if you actually wanted to put some stuff in the room right away.

Also, here is a thread I started asking questions about this excursion..one on the Dis and one on Cruisecritic.
