Floral tapestry :scared1: .....Jim will find them easily in baggage claim :rotfl2:

Brett

Brett, I just showed my big find to him. He isn't thrilled, but he never really goes anywhere without me. I told him that it will be easier to find at baggage claim. I also pointed out how well the luggage matches our laptop case. I should be in marketing.

We bought Dark Green luggage several years ago. DW liked how it looks. We had tapestry before that. Neither is easy to find in baggage claim.

I wish we would have bought the bright red. Can't miss that. Not the best looking, but when hundreds of suitcases come out at one time, you'll always know which is yours.

I was actually looking at this bright orange luggage (seriously), but I just couldn't do it. I hate orange.

I'm CANCER-FREE!!! We were supposed to cruise in November but had to move the cruise after I got diagnosed and then was going thru treatments for a few months. I finished chemo and then radiation in December and just got my post-treatment scan results today. We are so relieved and thankful. What a truly relaxing and celebratory cruise we are going to have!!!

Rachel,

Sorry I didn't post earlier. Congrats on getting over the cancer. DW and I think that's great.

We lost my mom to cancer a little over 3 years ago, she was 67. It runs in her family. She was 1 of 11 kids. She lost 2 brothers to it and 3 of her sisters had battles with it and won. Another sister is going through it now.

The relaxation of the cruise will be just the thing after months of chemo. It really drains a person.

Laurie,

You may hate orange, but I will bet you a drink of the day that after you travel a couple times, you'll be saying "I wish we had the orange luggage".

I know what it's like though to have something you don't like. You think everyone else is looking at your luggage and saying, eew, orange luggage.

Wait until you see the luggage pick up after the cruise. They at least have it in state room order, but a bright color would be seen across the room.

Jeff - I even posted on the main web site and asked about dress codes. Lisa and I owe you one when you least expect it!

I went out to your post. Seriously, you and Lisa should be fine with your boys. They are under 5.

For those with boys over 5, you should read the posts. A pair of pants might be a good idea for the older pre-teens.

There is no dress code, but it does look like other DISers notice the kids' attire.

We just dress DS like I dress so it's no biggie. If he's out of place, then so am I. Also, he looks like a "mini-me". Wait until you see him and me together. He is all me and NO mom. People comment about it all the time when they see our pictures.

Laurie- I actually just bought the ugliest bright blue suitcases but they will be easy to spot on the carousel. Oh and we have a bright green one too. Not at all easy on the eyes, but the price was right and you can't miss them!

Boy Jeff, ain't that the truth.....a big warehouse of black bags..... at least this time we're getting porters to help find them.

Also, Congrats to you Rachel.... that is something to really celebrate

Brett (and everyone else for that matter),

We used a porter the first cruise last January because, since it was our first cruise, we over packed. I wasn't about to struggle taking all those bags out. The porters are quick in getting your bags, and the best thing, they will get you the fastest line in customs.

We used one again in October when we had only carry-on sized luggage (sent 3 bags down the night before - less to take to breakfast) and they got us through customs in no time.

They just know their way around the luggage "warehouse" and I don't think the inspectors are going to stop them.

It is money well spent.

Maybe with everyone going to the "bright, ugly" colors, our plain green will be the odd ball some day. :rotfl2:

I wish the airline would just ruin our luggage on the return flight (note - return flight) so they can pay for the new bags. I will tell DW at least 2 times this trip that I wish we had the red luggage. Kohl's still sells our set (slightly modified) all these years later (I think 6 or 7). They added Black and Dark Blue to the series. Everytime we're in the store near the luggage, I always point it out.

I'd just buy the new stuff, but there is nothing wrong with this set and it is pretty nice.

Jeff

Hey my motto is .... the brighter or uglier the color a suitcase is... NO ONE will try and take it... too hideous looking and will get caught too quickly if seen with it. So bright red or green or a floral tapestry... is really a good choice. Mallory wants to buy this HOT PINK really bright....suitcase with a carry on. I just started laughing ... like that won't be seen for miles coming lol.

What a Nasty Storm we are having!

Golly Gee!!!! :fish: I think Noah is around and close by. Rain pouring and the Thunder is shaking the windows in my house. Yikes that's too loud! So with all the noise I thought I would get up and check out the thread. ::MinnieMo

We bought the bright blue several years ago and have no problem spotting it. The only problem is that more people are getting the bright colors now so maybe next luggage we need to go back to black.

Good Morning everyone. Next week it will be us boarding the Mickey Boat (us the DDs call it). :cool1: :cool1:

YEAH!!!!! After 13 months, I can hardly believe it's here.

6
more days.

:jumping1:

This weekend is devoted to getting organized and packed. Also a trip to the bank for the cash and most likely a few trips to Wally World for last minute "oh crud, I forgot about that" trips. Oh...and watching football games and the start of the new "24" episodes tomorrow night.

If we get lucky, check-in should be starting right about now next week (10:30 EST). :cool1:

I suppose I should start looking at packing and filling out the paperwork. :scratchin
